Have you read this book?

I read a book a long time ago, and I’m looking for it again. I remember it was good, but I can’t remember the plot. The book was written through the eyes of an insane person. What I remember most was the crazy guy’s logic as to why you should never date women with fancy manicured fingernails. There was page after page of damn good reasons to not date a woman with fancy fingernails. I remember reading this book thinking, “How could anyone write this? This is brilliant!”
Does this ring a bell for anyone? I would like to read this book again.

Sunday Burnout

Image depicting the way I feel right now. It’s not bad… but…

Last night I went to bed at about 10:30 PM. This morning, for some reason, the dawgs didn’t wake me up, and aside from getting up at 4:30 for a while, I slept till 8:15, which is unprecedented. Now I feel like I need coffee and a shower, except I already had coffee and a shower. Burnout. I think the only cure is a snorkel in the cold cold Caribbean Sea,

Texas beauty queen wins ‘fat’ case

Normally I don’t give a rats ass about this crap. but I read about this when the whole thing started and they took Domoniques crown away, I thought it was wrong then. I am glad the jury decided as it did, but am surprised it took them so long to reach a verdict.
US beauty contest winner Domonique Ramirez, who claimed she was stripped of her crown because she had gained weight has won her courtroom fight to regain the title.

Seventeen-year-old Domonique Ramirez claimed pageant officials in Texas had told her to “get off the tacos”.

Organisers of the Miss San Antonio contest said she was dismissed because she had breached her contract.

After nearly 12 hours of deliberation, jurors in Bexar County, Texas, ruled in favour of Ms Ramirez.

Judge Barbara Nellermoe said she didn’t “have any choice but to reinstate Domonique Ramirez as Miss San Antonio 2011″.

“This is about principle, this is about what’s right,” the 5ft 8in (173cm), 129lb (58.5kg) Ms Ramirez said after the verdict on Thursday.

Organisers took away the teenager’s crown in January, saying she had arrived late to events and failed to conduct herself in a way befitting a beauty queen.

During the week-long trial, pageant director Linda Woods said the teenager had turned up to a bikini shoot overweight, making the pictures “unusable”.

Ms Ramirez told the court that pageant bosses had said she “needed to lay off the tacos and the junk food”.

Ms Woods described the verdict as an “injustice for the city of San Antonio”.

Jury foreman Jesse Sanchez told the local newspaper, the Express-News, that the verdict was a “a hard decision”. She declined to divulge what damages and fees were awarded to Ms Ramirez.

Now that she has her title back, Ms Ramirez is eligible to compete for the titles of Miss Texas and Miss America.

But, one complication remains. During her dismissal period, another Miss San Antonio, Ashley Dixon, was crowned.

“I don’t plan on taking the crown away from Ashley. I’m hoping that we’ll be able to share and she can go to Miss Texas as well as Miss Bexar County, and we can both share the crown,” Ms Ramirez said.

From the BBC article, HERE

I think it’s very noble of Domonique to offer to share her crown, Ashley Dixon now needs to be compensated for her ordeal, and mean old Linda Woods needs a reprimand. She forgets she is dealing with children, (if only legally and not technically).

Drug use brain damage

I have a terrible time remembering names. I meet someone and get their name, and I instantly forget it. Or, if I try real hard, and pay attention, and think “That’s a common name, I can remember that”, then a few minutes later, I realize it is gone.

We’ve been watching the TV show “Bones”. I don’t know any of the characters names, except Bones, whose real name is Temperance, and Sweets, the Psychologist. When I hear the name on the show, the name instantly transfers to the picture of their face, and the name is rejected.

Back when I was a kid, I did a lot of drugs, I mean a lot. I wonder if this is related to those days.

Books are different, I read a name of a character, and automatically form a picture in my mind. Then I read the name again, and refer to the picture. Sometimes I get confused if there are too many characters in the book, but friends always say I describe books I read to them like a movie, and they seem impressed and I think it is a good thing.

There are several friends whose names I don’t know. I meet them, hear their name, forget it, and never hear it again. The longer I know someone whose name I don’t know, the harder it is to ask. Imagine a friend of yours, you’ve been friends for years, and all of a sudden one day, your friend asks your name, and says he never knew it all these years, wouldn’t that be weird?

Flower Bed

The Wife wants a flower bed, the Wife gets a flower bed. I did the concrete work myself! My first plaster job! I could have put an extra block over there on the left, but it seemed so …. redundant!

Capitalism to blame for lack of life on Mars

Chavez says capitalism may have ended life on Mars

(Reuters) – Capitalism may be to blame for the lack of life on the planet Mars, Venezuela’s socialist President Hugo Chavez said on Tuesday.

“I have always said, heard, that it would not be strange that there had been civilization on Mars, but maybe capitalism arrived there, imperialism arrived and finished off the planet,” Chavez said in speech to mark World Water Day.

Well, That explains a lot. This is probably what happened on the Moon too. I’ve been wondering what happened to all the Martians and those little green Moon Men. When were our scientists were going to tell us this? Driven to extinction for the dollar! Dangit!
