I think I was in third grade,1968, when the teacher told the class the world hit 3 billion people.
Now, according to THIS article, we’re going to hit 8 billion this month. That’s a lot.
i also read somewhere not too long ago that about now the Earth’s population was predicted to be about maximum of what it would ever reach.

Hopefully, there won’t be a tragedy to wipe out great numbers of the population. Sadly, I’m afraid the humans are their own worst enemy.
The population growth is decreasing and population is expected to start declining worldwide soon (within a few decades). I read somewhere that this may be the max population that it ever is.
