It’s a shame they don’t let it stay. It looks like it would provide great shade.

How ironic. I remember after Ivan when the big tree on the front lawn of the Glass House I was convinced that it would be reduced to mulch (if that!) in typical Cayman style. Imagine my delightful surprise when they propped it back up. Imagine my dismay when I read your post.LW
Bwoy, my impression is that Grand Cayman hardly has any tall trees at all, so tearing that one down is a cardinal sin!
There’s several Ivan survivin’ Mahogany trees that are being cut down. Sin is the right word!
