Last night I watched a show about cave diving on the History channel. It was amazing.I asked my husband if that was something he would like to do and he said no, cave diving is very dangerous and not at all like the diving he does.
A lot of the training I have had is like training for cave divers because once you stay down long enough or go deep enough to require decompression, you cannot safely go immediately to the surface. Any problems must be dealt with at depth. In technical diving, the redundancy and backups actually make it seem safer than sport diving to me. I’m not a cave diver but would do it and don’t consider it excessively dangerous. But I wouldn’t exceed my training and limits either.
