Friday I got the scooter back from the police station.  It is pretty torn up. Apparently they had sophisticated enough tools to cut the locks, but none sophisticated enough to take it apart to hotwire it. Looks like they used a crowbar to break the plastic covering the wiring instead of  screwdriver. The scooter is at the shop, I’ll hopefully get the estimate for repair today. I only had liability insurance, and a new scooter is under $3000.
