Jimmy Carter passed away yesterday . He may or may not have been the greatest US president, but he was definitely the greatest man who ever was US President.

I read one obituary of President Carter that quoted someone saying he was the only man for whom the presidency was a steppingstone to greater things. I thought that statement summarized his impact quite well. But he also accomplished much during his presidency, including brokering peace between Israel and Egypt, a peace that still holds today. Folks younger than us probably don’t realize how significant this was.
