At one point, I had over 23,000 gems. Now I believe Duolingo is kicking me out. They are giving me questions that I have not received any input for. Literally every question I answer is wrong or a lucky guess. I don’t even know what the subject is I think it’s past tense but I’m not sure it’s costing me about over 900 gyms a day because after five mistakes it cost 450 gems to continue.
I earned my 23,000 gems maybe 15 or 30 gems a day by studying daily for years.
They used to provide the information on the upcoming lesson. Not this time.
Some businesses seem to think that they reduce the quality of their product to non-usable, people will give them money. To me, logically if the product is no good, I’m certainly not going to give them money. Do you think it was supposed to be free. I watch their advertisements I play the game as I’m supposed to play it.
when I run out of gems, I’m gone. After years of practice I still can’t hold a conversation anyway.

Duolingo has been shifting to increased use of “AI” rather than human employees, so anything it tells you will be unreliable junk anyway. Certainly not worth paying for. If you’ve been using it for years and still can’t have a conversation, it sounds like it wasn’t doing you much good all along. Surely an actual native Spanish speaker willing to work with you for a bit of cash wouldn’t be hard to find in most of the country.
