All Systems Go!

I went to the dentist about the implant. All systems go!

Progression on the project downstairs is going well. Here’s yesterday when I got home:

Actually the video is Oct 22, not the 23rd…

I started this post at home, but now I’m at work. The Project Manager of my project called, he was downstairs. He said they’re getting the first inspection today, and want the concrete truck as soon as the inspection is done. So I chainsawed some branches so the truck could get in.

I was only 20 minutes early for work instead of my normal 30-45.

I’m excited! The first of two concrete pours! Soon we’ll be into the meat n’ potatos of building!

Have a great day!

Alice Cooper Told Me…*

…that light roast coffee has more caffeine than dark roast, because roasting breaks down the caffeine.

So I ran out and got some light roast coffee.

I don’t know, I can’t really tell the difference.

After a week or so of scooter weather, we’re back to van weather.

It’s been six months and today is the day to go to the dentist and check the bone growth and the implant installed.

It’s the hump day for hump day, Half way till hump day.

Underway

No, we’re not going out to sea, the construction job is underway.

The foundatioin is dug, rebar almost in place, and we’re almost ready for the first inspection before the first big concrete pour.

This weekend the Wife and I went to the:

I wore my Navy uniform, the actual uniform from the early 1980’s.

And now it’s Monday. I got work-work and a lot of other work too.

Have a great week!

Bad Luck With Gimballs

Soooooooo I bought this gimbal for my phone, nuthin’ fancy, I just wanted to get better videos.

My phone was on the list of phones that this gimball will accept. But, my phone wouldn’t fit with the protective phone case. I did take it out of the case and try it, but the gimbal’s phone holder was stretched to the max and didn’t even seem secure. Sorry, but I refuse to take my $1000 phone out of it’s case to use in a $100 gimball.

Bye gimball! Into the junkpile!

Soooooo, I got another specifically for the Sony camera I have. The G5GS. Charged ‘er up Ok, But it won’t power on. I looked at YouTube videos, nothing mentioned about my type, but similar models have a problem with the battery connection. I don’t think this is my problem, as the battery charged OK.

I had a friend bring this gimball from thhe UK, as Amazon doesn’t deliver much here, So I can’t really take it back or return it. There doesn’t seem to be much more that I can do, soooo….

Into the junkpile!

I’m pretty much done with camera gimballs, especially with the “Worlds #1 Manufacturer”. It woulda been nice to have steadier videos, but the fad has passed.

Construction Beginning

Today, instead of running or swimming or walking the dogs, I started removing stuff from under the house. Stuff like kayaks, wheelbarrows, big wooden tables, garden hoses, chicken coops.

The construction of the game room starts today. estimated time for completion: 12 weeks

Hope it goes without any big problems.

Have a good weekend!

New Running Shoes

My favorite pair of running shoes has died.

They have been glued back together a whole buncha times. I’ve had them sine October 2013. (I can tell by searching this blog) I remember, I didn’t really like them at the store, but my wife convinced me to get them. I grew to love them very much. When thry first broke, I ordered another pair. My “dress pair”. When my wife went to the USA some years ago, I had her pick up a third pair. Every time the originals broke, I thought I was going to throw them away, but I kept fixing them.

Finally, the other day, I did throw them away. But I have two good pairs still

And there’s a pair in my Amazon shopping basket

It’s almost the weekend!

Flamingos Tongues

Below is a video I took the other day of some Flamingos Tongues. They live on fan coral, usually.

I lifted my head out of the water to mark my position and I couldn’t find them again. I’ll keep looking!

Have a great day!

Moonlit Palm Trees

On my morning walk, the full moon setting. I decided to take some romantical pictures.

Actually, for some reason, the full moon seems cooler when it’s setting than when it’s coming up, I don’t know why. The camera can’t capture it. And it wasn’t actually setting, just getting low on the horizon. I don’t think I’ve ever actually see the moon set, like the sunset.

Last night I didn’t sleep well. I woke up at 1:15 AM, I was awake till at least 3:20 AM. I got up, walked around, played some games on my phone. I feel allright now, we’ll see how the day progresses..

Have a great day!

Welcome to The Family

Friday, I received the robot in the picture above from Chris, in New Zealand.

He’s been added to “The Family” of stuffed creatures, mostly made by my wife. I’m thinking of naming him Aanowd. Like Aanowd Schwartzenegger, the Terminator Robot.

Thank you Chris! Very much! He will be forever loved!

It was a good weekend. I did some yard work, and took it easy a lot. And I went for a walk and found $25 on the road!

Have a great week!

$50 Windshield Wipers

The other week I decided to get new windshield wipers for the van. I went to the auto parts store and they had two kinds, $23 and $4. The $23 ones came in a biggish blue and yellow box, and the $4 ones came in a little red bag. The $4 ones only had one wiper in it. The $23 ones, since it was an oversized box, and $23, I assumed there were two.

I notice the $23 ones were the same brand as my old wipers, so I figured, “what the heck, I’ll spring for the good ones.”

So I shelled out the $23 ($23.99) for the good ones. I go out to install them. “OOOoooo! fancy! Wait, there’s only one in the box? OOOOooo! Shiny! OOoooo! It has a little blade protector!”

So I go back in and buy another one.

As I’m driving away, I realize that the second one rang up $24.99 instead of $23.99.

And that’s the story of how I got $50 windshield wipers.

And you know what? They’re not that great, streaky. The $4 ones probably would have been better.

In other news, IT’S FRIDAY! And I got a package from New Zealand that I’m picking up today! I wonder who could have sent me something from New Zealand?

Have a great weekend!
