Move Halloween to Saturday?

But First: A Let me that todays coffee is very good, and it falls within the specifications of a perfect cuppa coffee. But as you must know, that the perfect cuppa coffee is not a goal to be reached, it is a standard to be maintained. Therefore the quest shall continue.

And now, back to our regularly scheduled post..

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Let’s hope so!

My inital kneejerk reaction to moving Halloween was “Oh heck NO!” But I’ve been thinking about it, and after a while, it doesn’t really seem to be a bad idea.

What do you think?

The last Saturday of October is also when Daylight Savings Time ends, if you have it, which we don’t, but if you do, you’d get an extra hour to trick-or-treat, and/or recover from trick-or-treating, if you catch my meaning. Plus there’s other good reasons, the kids won’t have school tomorrow, you probably (hopefully) won’t have to go to work, because Halloween would always be on a weekend!

So what do you think? Take your time, it’s definitely not gonna happen this year, and you might warm up to it, like I did!

And Now, my annual Halloween jokes:

Q: Why was the sleleton afraid to cross the road?

A: He didn’t have the guts!

Q2: What do you get when you take the insides out of a hot dog?

A2: A Hollow-weenie!

Happy Halloween and have a great day!

Death Of Detective Richard Poole

Detective Richard Pool was tragically and violently murdered on Netflix last night on the fictional island of Saint Marie in the Caribbean. He was at a 25 year reunion with several classmates.

This Death In Paradise occured in Season 3, Episode 1. I am greatly saddened by Detective Poole’s demise, and he shall be sorely be missed.

I really like the show, Death In Paradise. Ben Miller played a great role. I loved his character. I hope the show stays good without him. Hope to see more of Ben Miller in the future.

That being said, I am pleased Inspector Poole’s replacement, Kris Marshall. (Colin from “Love Actually“). He can fill the role, but the show won’t be the same.

I know that all this all happened years ago, (2011?) but my wife and I are just now watching the series. If you haven’t seen it, I give it the “worth watching” vote. It’s a who-dunnit mystery, each episode, with plenty of humor and great scenery. Reminds me of Cayman, when I first moved here, now, Seven Mile Beach reminds me of Miami…

It’s quite breezy and cool this morning. I woke up kinda irritated feeling this morning, no reason.

My coffee this morning is durn good! Lately, I’ve been striving for perfection… Normally, I just slap it together, coffee and water, and get too strong, or too weak, or “in the ballpark” coffee, but these last few days, it’s been precision measurments and adjustments, aiming for deliciousness. Today, is a tinge weak, but still, durn good.

Have a great day! And perfect coffee!

Itza Nuther Mundee

Ohhh boyohboy oh boy.

Way too short weekend. Saturday I mowed the yard. Sunday, I almost went diving, but my dive computer battery was dead, so I went and got a new one. And missed the dive.

I watched my American Football Team win, and read my book, and I can’t remember too much else. So I say we need another weekend day, just to make up for the shortness of this weekend.

Weird weather, in the midsts of a good weather patch, I went fo my run this morning, to find the roads wet and the puddles full. The sky was still clear, as if saying “I didn’t do it! I have no idea where all that water came from.”

I’m just rambling. I’d much rather be reading your posts than trying to write my own.

Oh, and Daylight Savings Time ended, although I didn’t hear anything about it beforehand. I could tell by the BBC programming this morning.

Have a great week!

Teeny Tiny Typing

I’m typing this on my teeny tiny telephone keyboard using only one thumb.

I didn’t get my tablet back yesterday. I got off work at 4:30 and the tablet wasn’t ready till 5:15.

In the meantime, I’m typing this on my teeny tiny telephone keyboard using only one thumb.

Friday! Sunny weekend predicted!

I should have a very good payday in November, I’m in the work Christmas Club and that money will be deposited with my November pay. Plus we got a 5% pay raise (cost of living adjustment) with back pay since July, and THAT is going in with November payroll too.

I can use the money, seriously.

Have a great weekend!

Operation Day

Today I take my tablet in to have the screen replaced. I am dropping it off at 9AM and hopefully, if she pulls through, picking her up after work.

It’s a small crack, barely noticable, but I notice it. It was difficult to get a picture of it.

It’s almost the weekend. It’s supposed to be sunny too!

I didn’t particularly sleep well last night. I had a dream about a little circular saw that looked like a pizza cutter, but with circular saw teeth. And a beauty contest, but it wasn’t a beauty contest. Can’t really remember either dream.

Well, can’t think of too much more to say this morning, I hope in 24 hours, I’m here, posting on this tablet with a not-broken screen!
Have a great day!

Sundays Pictures On Wednesday

Happy hump day! Here’s photos from our Stingray City trip last weekend.

Had a little rain yesterday, I didn’t get wet, but I was on my scooter. Undecided about today, they say it always rains around a full moon. Maybe yesterdays was it, maybe not. Looks nice now! Have a great day!

Death In Paradise

The wife and I have been watching “Death In Paradise“, a BBC show now playing on Netflix.

The wife picked it, and I think I like it more than she does. In fact, I don’t think she would have watched more than a couple episodes, if it weren’t for me. But now it’s growing on her. We’re still on season one. A stuffy British detective gets assigned to a Caribbean island and solves all these murders.

Above is a picture of me, taken by my wife on Sunday. That’s a brand-new hat that she got for me in Costa Rica, BTW. I still haven’t taken the pictures off my waterproof camera… Today I will, I rekkon. Then tomorrow I can do a “Wordless Wednesday”. I seldom know today, what I’m going to post tomorrow.

Nice weather, scooter riding day!

Have a wondeful day!

End Of A Good Weekend

Yesterday, the wife and I went to Stingray City. I took my underwater camera, but haven’t retreived the photos yet. If there’s any good ones, I’ll post them later.

Of course, you already know about my Saturday. Now it’s Monday. This morning my neighbor had a flat tire in front of my house. I offered my can of Fix-A-Flat, which I always keep in my glove compartment, but this tire was split way up the side. So the dog and I went for our walk and when I came home, the car was moved to the side of the road.

I don’t know how many people it takes to change a tire, or how long, (yes I do, not long) but now there’s a whole bunch of my neighbors friends out there, playing music and being loud.

Last time there was a bunch of my neighbors friends hanging out in the street in ront of my house, my motorcycle and lawnmower were stolen. Time before that, just my lawnmower got stolen.

So I’m stressed and angry. The dog was out there barking at them, and just now the wife went and let her in, so she’ll be crabby because she got out of bed to let her in instead of me lettng her in.

Of course, theres no evidence that either time, my neighbors associates hanging out in the street in front of my house had anything to do with the stuff being stolen, probably just coincidence, but still, it’s messing up my morning.

My motorcycle getting stolen prompted us to get a security camera system installed.

zoomed-in security camera shot of the street in front of our house.

And that’s my post for the day.

Have a great day! And week!

Saturday Evening Post

Saturday Evening Post! That would be a great name for a newspaper!

Above is a video of how I spent the morning, laying in the hammock in the back yard. This post could have also been entitled “I Should Have Been Mowing The Yard.”

My view from the hammock

The wife had to work today, and I’ve been thinking about breaking out the hammock, so today I did it. It was quite nice, laying out there, reading my book. All morning. I went out about 10, and shortly after noon, I felt the first drop of rain. By the time I got the hammock down, it was pouring.

Custom Hammock Trees

I planted these two trees so I could hang the hammock from them, I wish I had placed them just a little further apart.

Ashy The Missing Cat

The cat was missing this morning, I had let her out, and didn’t know the wife had let her back in before going to work. I searched everywhere, and finally found her, back wall, bedroom closet. Her secret spot. It was completely black there, except for the camera flash.

After laying in the hammock, finding the cat and making a little lunch, I decided a nap was in order. I woke up at 5:21 PM, astounded I slept so long, from about 1 till after 5!

Tonight the wife and I are going to her friends birthday party. I think she mentioned a Mexican theme. I hope there’s tacos!

I did manage a wee bit of productivity today, I cleaned the birdbath and separated two plants, I had put the trailer from one nto a pot of dirt next to it, and it had rooted pretty good, so I snipped the crossovers and now have two separate plants.

In the short time I’ve been typing this, it has gone from “good light” to “completely dark”, so I have to post this and get ready for the party.

Have a great evening and Super Sunday!

Occasional Obsessions

Happy Friday!

I remember probably 30 years ago, I saw a $13 Monocular at WalMart. I thought to myself, “It’s pretty cool, but I don’t need it”. For three days, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I laid awake all night, three nights. Finally, I went back and got it. At last! I could sleep again! And you know what? I still have it, I still think it’s the coolest thing on earth, and I still use it.

Now, I became obsessed with Pico Projectors, about 6 months ago or more. Don’t need it, got no real use for it, ordered it yesterday.

AAXA Technologies P2-A 130-Lumen WVGA LED Smart Pico Projector

It’s supposed to be delivered Monday, but I’m thinking I can get it today, if it arrives on the island. We had an old, big, super cheap projector but it’s disappeared around the house somewhere, wife and I looked for it a couple times, but it didn’t turn up. I don’t think it really would have mattered though, I was obsessed. Not with this particular model, just a pico projector.

I’m so excited!

This morning our walk (Sheba and mine) was kinda nasty. There was a garbage truck right behind us. We’d walk and get away, then it’d pull up right behind us and start loading peoples garbage, we’d almost get away, and it’d pull up behind us again. It was noisy and stinky.

Did I mention that it’s Friday? I’m so excited! Have a great weekend!
