I never knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. I still don’t know.

When I was a kid, my father and I put together a Heathkit stereo, pictured above.
When I got out of high school, I joined the Navy, and picked electronics schools because of that stereo.
Now, 40 years later, I’m still in electronics, waiting to figure out what I want to do when I grow up.

I am very glad it’s Friday.

Wednesday, 26 July. Already.

As you may know, on the equinoxes, the sun is overhead at the equator. On the first day of summer (in the northern henisphere) the sun reaches the tropic of cancer. And the first day of summer in he southern hemisphere, the sun reaches overhead at the tropic of Capricorn. And in betweeen the sun travels back and forth. Well today the sun passes directly overhead in Cayman. At 12:23, the sun will be at 89.9 degrees high. Also yesterday it was at 89.9 degrees, eaning the sun passed over our precise longitude sometime last night, on the other side of the world.

It happens twice a year everywhere in the tropics, once when the sun is headed north, and once when heading south. Never outside of the tropics. sorry.

Today is one of the best of the Best of beach days!

I have been working on a post aabout fake news vs freedom of the press.  Twice that post has been lost from my blog drafts. I guess I’ll have to save it as a document and then paste it over.
It was a good weekend. Goot some sun on our roof Saturday, Sunday went to a friends house. Also, I read a book, Razor Girl, by Carl Haissen.

It was  quite good, as are all his books that i’ve read. I wanted a new Kindle, didn’t get one, and fired up my old (old) one. Maybe it’s better having a vintage Kinde than a new one…

I really don’t know what was so great about the weekend, but it was a great weekend.

Last night we went and saw Despicble Me 3. It was quite good. Gru finds he has a long lost twin brother, Dru.. I really liked his car!

I didn’t post last Thursday, wife wasn’t feeling well and I took her to the hospital. Friday I ran 2.77 miles, and was out of time, because I had to go to work. And then there was the weekend, on which I seldom post. Now, it’s Monday, and here I am!

It was a good weekend though, and I don’t mind the idea of going to work today.
