The Abandoned Kayak

This kayak has been sitting here at my secret lunchtime beach for an easy six months. Probably much longer. it used to be used by the submarine company Atlantis Submarines to paddle out to their submarines. The submarines are a long gone, I think they’ve been sold. But the kayak remains. (Technically speaking I think one was a submarine and the other was a glass bottom boat, but I think they’re both gone) I have 2 kayaks which I have not used in a long time, This kayak is like the 1st kayak I ever bought, a Malibu 2. Therefore its value is sentimental only, but it must be a very old kayak that deserves to be cared for and loved.

I’m not even sure this place is still here.

Tonight at movie night is “Die Hard“. I’ve been told the food prices have gone up because technically now the hotel is open, but I’m going anyway.

Discovery

I think, that taking pictures is directly related to the ability to come up with the topic to post about on my blog.

Yesterday was this day a plain day, not too much happened, Nothing worth posting about. Pictures make the post.

This is my discovery for the day. Perhaps rediscovery is a better term. It’s because like I’ve always said, the picture makes the post!

Cleanup Progress

It’s Tuesday now, thankfully. I ran out of paint yesterday and went to get more, but all the stores were closed because of the Queen’s birthday. So instead I cleaned the second half of the pantry downstairs. I removed the chest type freezer, and all the shelves and cleaned the floor underneath. It came out good. The house is getting pretty clean.

I have been cleaning common areas and areas that I didn’t pay much attention to, areas that I considered the wife’s domain, but my areas are still pretty messy. Is my desk and my workroom especially. Today, (along with paint,) I’m buying more storage boxes. And I’m throwing a lot of stuff away.

Sunday night I went to a pizza party on the beach that happens every Sunday. I got there when they were closing but it is something worth checking out in the future. Something to add to my weekly ‘movie night on the beach’ routine.

I’ve been using voice-to-text more and more often. It seems to work pretty well.

Happy Birthday Queen!

Today is the Queen’s birthday holiday. Her 1st birthday without her husband.

It’s always nice to have a long weekend.

It’s been another good, productive, weekend. Saturday I trimmed the bushes and mowed the yard. It came out well. The yard and bushes look good. Yesterday I started repainting the roof. I got this rubberized roof paint that seems pretty good . I will finish that job today I sure hope, unless I run out of paint.

The weather here has been weird this weekend. Weather report says overcast, but while it’s not really cloudy, (you can see the sun and airplanes and stuff) the sky is white and not blue.

Second Warning

More than a year ago, my mother sent me an article from the newspaper about Chrome and it was time to get rid of it. Now, it’s come up again, in an article I just read. So, I installed Firefox.

II haven’t uninstalled Chrome yet, but I will if Firefox seems OK.

I am glad it’s Friday. It’s been a rainy week and it looks like more of the same for the weekend, but I’m looking forward to it.

No Movie Nite Tonight

Tonight the Westin movie is some musical. None of us are going.

I stayed up late (for me) cleaning the floor. It looks good, but it’s not shiny, like soap film on the floor. Maybe I’ll give it a swab with some plain water tonight..

I had a super good day yesterday. My brain seemed to work at peak efficiency and I worked extra hard and got a lot done, including finishing a major task done. I was complimented on the sound of my fast typing. I said “All ya gotta do is spell every word wrong, then go back and fix it, and and it sounds like you’re typing twice as fast.” They said they didn’t think so, which is true, I was kickin’ ass. I also did laundry, went grocery shopping and cleaned the floor.

New Dinosaur

New Dinosaur discovered in Australia!

Scientists in Australia have classified a new species of dinosaur, discovered in 2007, as the largest ever found on the continent.

The Australotitan cooperensis or “the southern titan”, is among the 15 largest dinosaurs found worldwide.

Good, Full Weekend

It was a good weekend. Friday, I went out to dinner with a bunch of friends. It was nice, but not as nice as the previous Friday., But still nice. Crappy loud restaurant, I declared it a lunch place and not a dinner place, at night it’s too much bar, too little restaurant.

Saturday, I went to the beach in the morning and had a nice quiet morning, finished my book. In the afternoon, I took the dogs to the beach. They behaved remarkably well and I think they had a good time. See the video below. Daisy made me laugh when she fell down the hill. Lenny wass just bursting with happiness.

Sunday, went diving.It was a very typical Cayman dive, trying to get some good pictures and videos. Below is a part of a video of the mantis shrimp, poor quality and about 6 seconds long. He wouldn’t come out, and I could see him with my eye but not on the camera. I didn’t know if I had any shots or video till I got out of the water.

And Sunday afternoon I cleaned house some more, (no rush) and made preparations to re-re-re-paint my roof. Last time I painted it, I wasn’t happy with it, and it’s been a year now. I got some good paint and I’m psyched to get ‘er goin! Now if the weather would cooperate. I think I’ve painted it four times since I lived here.

Orange Sunset

Wentt to movie night 🌙 at the Westin, it was The Wedding Singer. Good movie.

There was also a good sunset 🌇 last.night too. Below is a video I took. There was no green flash, because of that last minute cloud with its tip stickING up from below the horizon. I wonder how far away a spot directly under the center of that cloud is? Here’s the video, 62 seconds long

Have a great weekend! Oh yeah, whilst typing this, my spell checker kept suggesting little icons, a couple of which I inserted. Soon we’ll be drawing pictures to communicate like the cave man drawing on cave walls. They’re gonna quit teaching the kids to read, already started.
