Too Hot!

I threw it away. It’s too hot. No matter how little you use, it’s too much Yesterday evening I put one teaspoon in a big vat of chicken breast and white rice and ruined it.

I’m not even sure hot is the right word, it can’t be weakened. It’s more like putting paint or rat poison in your food. One molecule of this stuff in your mouth produces, for me, a toxic result.

it is still cloudy and rainy. I think we’re getting less rain than expected though.

Tomorrow is a sea swim. I hope it’s not pouring. One year the swim was stopped mid-swim because of thunder. I hope it’s either good weather or canceled. Not crappy weather and the swim.

Happy Friday, have a good weekend!

Skylight Spiritual Wellness

The Skylight App is apparently closing down. I didn’t think they could maintain the quality they had without fees. They wouldn’t let you pay even if you wanted to. Apparently. I looked.

if you didn’t know about this app, be consisted of videos about meditation, exercise, yoga, religion, and talks and a whole bunch of different categories. Extremely high quality.

Sad to see them go. They were the best.

It is very windy and off-and-on rainy here. TD 19 below us. Cayman is in the 4-6 inches of rain zone Hurricane season is over November 30th. Hope Mother Nature remembers that.

Have a great day!

Rough Mowing But Good Weekend!

Normally it takes less than 90 minutes to mow my yard. Yesterday, after 2 hours I was about 4/5 of the way done with the front. First of my lawn mower deck somehow got bent and the blade was hitting it so I had to hammer that back out. Then finally the string broke that you used to start it and I had no replacement. Today I’m going to try to haul the lawn mower down to the repair shop because it has multiple problems that I’ve been jury rigging since I got it back from the repair shop last time. Like the dead man switch is bypassed and there’s a little door on the side of the deck that flies open and debris flies out of it all over the place. Quite dangerous

On a positive note, it was a very nice weekend with mostly good weather and scuba diving. Above are some pictures from this weekend and I believe one from last weekend.

AAaaand I was hoping hurricane season was over a couple weeks early but it looks like we’ll get one more fling from this year’s hurricane season.. ho hum.

Have a great day and a great week!

Remembrance Day

Happy Remembrance Day! Today is also Veterans Day in the US. Our first holiday since July I believe.

it’s been a good weekend so far when diving on Saturday, Beach yoga yesterday and housework. Today is more diving and knowing the jungle yard. My yard is really tall thick weeds and grass that my lawn mower will barely be able to handle. I am dreading The almost sure fire frustration that will come this afternoon.

But perhaps it won’t be as bad as I think!

have a great day

looking for a cell phone holder

I’m looking for a cell phone holder for the car I can’t find any that I like. The one I have, I got at Canadian Tire in Canada. It has a magnet and plugs into the cigarette lighter and holds the phone with the magnet, but in the new car the stick shift is in the way.

I’m leaning towards the gravity one in the picture above. But I haven’t scoured the entire Island yet! I don’t really like the suction cup kind.

TGIF! Hopefully we’ll have a non-rainy weekend, and I can catch up with the yard work. And projects. Plus I think it’s our first holiday weekend since July!

Have a great weekend!

The History Of Love

I finished this book for the second time last night. I read it first time and immediately started to re-read it. It was a very complicated read to me, and I had to read it twice to figure it out. I still have questions. It has an excellent plot with many many twists, and a lot of good comedy.

I’m not going to try to explain the plot here, because it would be my longest post ever. But I will say it is a really good book to read, take notes when you’re reading it. I give it five stars!

Have a fantastic day

Not Much Hurricane

Hurricane Rafael has passed Grand Cayman with very little effect..Little Cayman and Cayman Brac probably got it much worse.. I’ll be finding out today.

Donald Trump won the presidency. I don’t think the Democrats can find a way to dispute or complain about it.

Have a great day.

I Think Kamala Is Going To Vote For Trump

On the BBC this morning the topic was the US elections today. The snippet from Kamala Harris was something like “it’s not who we beat down, it’s who we build up. We need a new way forward”. The Democrats campaign has been largely putting down Trump. A new way forward, would be more Trump than Kamala, who will continue the same path the US has been on for decades and the same path Joe Biden was on. Kamalas snippet did not seem to match what her campaign path has been.

Trump’s snippet was about increased wages, cleaner and safer streets, and a better way of life. No negatives.

This election is going to be a mess. If I was voting, I don’t know who I would vote for. Trump’s sanity is in question, Kamala Harris will continue to hurt the working class overall.

I like Kamala better as a person, which is irrelevant. But I was put off by the way she avoided answering some questions.

Gerald Ford said that once the US gets a female president, they’d have a hard time putting a male back in the office.

In other news…

Cayman Islands has a hurricane coming!

Tropical Storm Rafael is looking like it’ll pass between Grand Cayman and Little Cayman. It may or may not be a hurricane as it passes through, but we’re definitely gonna get whacked.

It should start raining this afternoon or tonight.

Have a great day anyway!

Great Weekend Ended

it was a great weekend. When diving Saturday and Sunday. Took the dog to the beach and the new car, tested out the four-wheel drive. There’s not really anywhere on this island that needs four-wheel drive, really. But at least I know it works.

I’m pretty happy with the vehicle now. I got rid of the bicycle tires it came with, blacked out the rear windows on a whim (better hide the dive gear in the back) and got a good roof rack. It is really fun to drive with the 5 speed and keeps getting better.

We have a storm coming. It looks like it will pass between Grand Cayman and Little Cayman.

I remember Hurricane Charlie passed between the islands years ago and Grand Cayman barely got any weather at all. But we can’t be complacent and we have to prepare for the worst! I never really got “un-prepared” from the last time.

Other than the storm, it’s a typical Monday and I hope you have a good week!
