Interesting weekend

I had an interesting weekend, I took the day off Friday and went snorkeling with some friends. Saturday a quarantiner dude came buy to pay for his quarantine after his return flight Nov 6th. He liked the place, paid, and left for the airport. 10 minutes later he calls and asks if he can leave his car at the house. I said OK and that I would even give him a ride to the airport. (I’m so nice!) I took him to the airport and dropped him off. 10 minutes later he calls and he left some travel documents in his car could I go get them. Perturbed now, I came back home, dug through his car to find his documents and took them to him at the airport. The guy seemed shady, nothing he said was specific, I had a weird feeling, but ignored it, maybe he was just a weird kid. After I dropped off his documents, I went scuba diving. As soon as I was done diving and got back in the car he called again. Customs found $24000 in cash in his luggage undeclared. They took the money and wouldn’t let him fly. I picked him up and took him back to his car, at my house. He told a story about being a real estate auction investor and they wouldn’t take credit cards or checks it was only cash. I gave him his money back told him I thought he was a crook and that’s the end of the story. It really killed my Saturday, I missed my 8 o’clock appointment because he was late coming to see the apartment and pay, I missed my 10:30 appointment because I went to go get his travel documents. I missed my planned grocery shopping excursion because I took him to his car and get rid of him.

Saturday and Sunday I went diving and took the dogs to the beach Sunday. Pictures below

Twas a good weekend, productive and fun. Friday I got off work early, went to the beach then went home and I mowed the yard, I only got the front done because the grass was so deep and wet. (When I say grass I really mean weeds!) Then our dinner club went out to dinner Friday night and it was quite nice. Saturday I went diving and then had coffee with friends at Waffle Monkey. Good coffee! Then I came home and mowed the backyard, it was much easier and drier. Saturday afternoon my quarantiner moved out, free of covid. I have somebody else possibly going into quarantine here on the 13th of this month, which will be nice.

Sunday was another diving day, followed by a washing two dogs who needed it bad and seem to feel much better

And now it’s a back to work Monday and I actually don’t feel so bad about it.

Underwater Pics Tuesday

I had a really cool topic for today, one that I could never forget. I forgot it.

I went diving Saturday and Sunday last weekend and it was very nice.

Yesterday at work, I put in vacation requests for my 18.5 days that I have to use by the end of the year. Is pretty much, I’m taking every Friday off and almost every Monday off until 2022. I had to submit a separate leave request for each day.

Nice dive yesterday. Top left to right down: Moray eel, baby lionfish, red scallop in a hole, little blennie peeking out a hole. (Might be a baby jawfish, half the size of a pencil eraser, boxfish, ribbon nudibranch, My first fingerprint cyphoma. And the last one is a type of feather worm.

Today is back to work!

Dayjumble

I noticed that my posts are usually a day off. My Monday post is usually about the weekend, My Friday post is almost always about Thursday, Most of the posts (that rhymes) are about yesterday. I guess that’s the way it’s gotta be, unless I started posting in the evenings.

Below are four pictures from my scuba dive yesterday. Some of these are among my favorites that I’ve ever taken.

It was a good weekend, Friday night dinner club, Saturday mangrove festival in town…

Also Saturday was family fun day from work at the beach. It was fun with a lot of people and a lot of food and I want a $25 gasoline voucher playing bingo.

Sunday I went diving and to the beach ⛱. And had my regular beach pizza 🍕.

I didn’t do any of my chores. I didn’t paint, I didn’t clean, I didn’t mow, I didn’t trim the branches on the trees. And right now I don’t care.!

And now it’s Monday and I have a dental appointment today. Oh boy!

First Seahorse!

Today I’m having black tea instead of coffee. I have a cold and I would call in sick if it wasn’t for the work today. Inventory.

Yesterday, diving, I saw my first Seahorse ever. It was not as exciting as I had hoped.

Micro Pictures

Or, pictures of small things.

It was a good weekend. It went out to your dinner Friday and it was a very poor service but good company. Saturday was a beach day, and I went to the flowers one mile sea swim Saturday afternoon and watch the finish and saw a lot of friends there.

Yesterday I went diving and took the pictures above. A fish in the last picture is the biggest thing in the pictures, About an inch long. The 1st few pictures are of a sea slug type creature that you could easily fit 25 of them on your little finger fingernail. They were so small I used a magnifying glass to finally see then before I could take the picture. I couldn’t even see them on my camera viewfinder while I was shooting the pictures. They have been cropped extensively. The little shrimp on the anemone was much bigger, you could probably fit 10 or 15 on your little fingernail.

Yesterday evening I went to the pizza on the beach event again, And again it was over when I got there even though I got there 2 hours before the end of the “event”. The whole restaurant (Luca) started closing at 6 due to slowness of business.

And now it’s a back to work Monday hurray.

Good, Full Weekend

It was a good weekend. Friday, I went out to dinner with a bunch of friends. It was nice, but not as nice as the previous Friday., But still nice. Crappy loud restaurant, I declared it a lunch place and not a dinner place, at night it’s too much bar, too little restaurant.

Saturday, I went to the beach in the morning and had a nice quiet morning, finished my book. In the afternoon, I took the dogs to the beach. They behaved remarkably well and I think they had a good time. See the video below. Daisy made me laugh when she fell down the hill. Lenny wass just bursting with happiness.

Sunday, went diving.It was a very typical Cayman dive, trying to get some good pictures and videos. Below is a part of a video of the mantis shrimp, poor quality and about 6 seconds long. He wouldn’t come out, and I could see him with my eye but not on the camera. I didn’t know if I had any shots or video till I got out of the water.

And Sunday afternoon I cleaned house some more, (no rush) and made preparations to re-re-re-paint my roof. Last time I painted it, I wasn’t happy with it, and it’s been a year now. I got some good paint and I’m psyched to get ‘er goin! Now if the weather would cooperate. I think I’ve painted it four times since I lived here.

Last Day Of May

It was a very good weekend, overall. Went out to dinner Friday with a dozen or so friends. It was really wonderful.

Saturday, mowed the yard. And cleaned. A lot. Found some ancient, 2017 pasta in the pantry. And lots of rice Not expired. I’ll be eating rice forever.

The wife took the dogs overnight Friday night. When she brought them back Saturday morning. I was not really very nice. I don’t like her being uncomfortable and she looked uncomfortable and small Saturday morning. No matter how she treats me or what she does, I never want to be mean to her. I felt bad after she left and later, I apologized on a voicemail. Later still, I invited her out to a “nice” lunch on Sunday. She accepted and we had a good lunch and it was very nice, like old times. I made her laugh. It was odd saying good-bye in the parking lot, I’m used to us to getting in the car and going home like normal. I almost forgot to say good-bye, I took a step towards the car and she didn’t, and I remembered, “Oh yeah”. and it all came flooding back and I felt like bursting out into tears.

I’d rather be angry, sorta, sorta not. Being angry seems more powerful and in-control feeling.

Sunday morning earlier, I went diving. it was a good dive. But it was sunny and clear when we went under and almost completely overcast when we got out. Then it rained, definitely because I mowed the yard.

Dreamy Night

I had dreams last night. First, I was on the beach, at my normal lunchtime spot, but there was a cave or small round door in this erosion wall that’s been there for a while. I was getting ready to crawl in when I saw my indoor cat, Ashy,, laying on a towel on the sand in front of the door. (Ashy kept trying to go outside yesterday while I was unloading groceries.) Then I looked down and discovered I had barely missed stepping in a huge pile of horse crap. I mean huge, so huge, the “h” is silent.

The other dream I remember is that I was on a small balcony, with a small table, like a hotel. I was laying out my dive gear. I looked over and on another balcony was a girl in her swimsuit, laying out her dive gear too. She gave me an unfriendly look. l reached into my pocket and pulled out an orange, wrist mounted electronic compass that didn’t work. (Which is why I took it off) but for the first time, I noticed it had a small magnetic compass on the wristband too. I watched the arrow-needle swing back and forth as it came to a rest on north.

And that’s my dreams of last night. It feels like Friday but it’s not, it’s prefriday. Have a wonderful day!
