After reviewing my posts for the past week, I am amazed that I forgot to tell you that last weekend I went diving, and flooded my video camera. I apologize for this gross oversight.

On the bright side, I’m getting a new video camera, and I expect it to arrive today!

Drift Ghost-S Action Camera

The camera is waterproof to 3 meters, (10 feet) which isn’t good enough for my needs, so I also ordered:

The underwater case, good to 60 meters or 197 feet.

So I should be good to go again for awhile. This is a far superior camera and I was pretty impressed with the old one, so we’ll see how it goes! I know I’m gonna like it!

Monday, back to the grind

Monday morning, pretty early.i see a little Sun coming up and hear chickens roosters crowing and squawking.
Had a good weekend, Saturday did yard work Sunday went diving.
I have a project going on, To clear the bush that’s invading our property line. It is going to be a huge job. There’s a lot of bush and rock and roots.

Above is a picture of the start. You can see the PVC pole marking the line. I have to go all the way back to the other corner of the yard. No rush.

I reckon that’ll doer for today. Have a good week and don’t forget to tip your waitress

We Won A BOAT!!!!!

The Wife and I went out to lunch today, after we power washed the house and decks. After that, on impulse, we went to a boat show at Harbor House Marina. They were raffling off a cute little boat. My wife asked me if I’d like to win a boat, and I said “Not really, but I would like one of those hats.” (everyone was wearing Harbor House Marina hats.) We went back inside and I found where they were giving the hats away, right next to where they were selling raffle tickets. The Wife bought a raffle ticket.

Then we went outside and there were hamburgers and stuff and a whole lot of people. Then came the drawing, we were so far away we couldn’t hear, so we went closer, just in time for the grand prize drawing, the boat. I went in shock when they called my name. I was zombified. I turned to look at the Wife and she was all excited, jumping up and down. I didn’t know she put the ticket in my name.

So they’re delivering the boat on Monday, I’m still in shock. I can’t wait to go out on it.

If I was going to buy a boat, it would be a boat just like the one we won.

Unbelievable.

This is in about 10 feet of water, with the camera pointed straight up. At the “bottom” is my bubbles. Cloudy day.

There is a tiny, very well camouflaged, fish in this pic, about 2 inches long. Can you see it?

Giant Grouper, 3 feet long. There were a lot of groupers on this dive, which is good. Grouper is endangered. No real scuba diver eats grouper.

I know it’s supposed to be Flashback Friday, but I want to post a video instead. I took this yesterday. I put the camera on the bottom in a school of fish, then they swam around it. There’s a little surge, making the camera rock back and forth, and finally it fell over. The video is 21 seconds long.

Tuesday Monday

It’s Monday, but really it’s Tuesday.

Yesterday was the best day of the weekend. We went to the beach and snorkeling.[jwplayer config=”Player-320-480″ mediaid=”9659″]

Above is a photo and a super short (3 seconds) video of a triggerfish that hid as soon as I saw him.

And that’s about it. Also, last month, when The Wife went to Costa Rica, she brought me back a coffee cup gift from our cousins. It’s pretty fancy, with the saucer and the spoon and everything…

Yodito means super strong coffee, and has something to do with iodine.

I have been working at the Airport for 6 months now. That means my probation is over. I have to get an evaluation to make it official. Today..

Seeing The Appeal

Lately people have been doing this “stand up paddleboarding”. I don’t see the appeal. To me, it doesn’t look like much fun. First time I saw anyone on a kayak, windsurfing or hang gliding or sailing in a sailboat, I thought “Dang, now that looks cool!” But paddleboarding looks slow and boring. You have to have flat calm water and it looks terribly inefficient. On a kayak you can put your back into it and get going as fast as you can. Paddleboarding looks like the challenge is to stand up and paddle at all. Apparently it’s all the new rage, but I don’t see the thrill.
