I’m Official

My Six month evaluation went well, and I am no longer on probation. I am a regular employee. That means I can take vacation and sick time. I also had my working hours adjusted, now my hours are 8 till 4:30 instead of 8:30 – 5. It will help with the traffic situation a little.

I was walking the dogs this morning, thinking that I don’t have much to post about lately, that I’m dipping through a period of poor blog attitude. Not so much a poor attitude, but a blight of topics. I need to take more pictures, because, as you know, pictures make the post!

I put a radio in the bathroom, and when I wake up and shave, I’ve been listening to BBC World Have Your Say and on Facebook HERE. This morning they were talking about “an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth”> This 14 year old boy in Saudi Arabia stabbed his friend in a fight 10 years ago and the victim was paralyzed from the waist down. The punishment is to be paralyzed from the waist down. I could not imagine the horror of going to the doctor to be paralyzed.  Although I have had repeat dreams where I reported to my old boss and was surprised to find she expected me to be cheerfully executed.

Anyway, such topics are not the purpose of this blog.

Today is hump day. I am looking forward to the weekend already. I want to go diving.

Friday. Party. Dreams.

Today it’s Friday, and although we already had our “official” Christmas Party for work, today is the unofficial one. The four in my division are going out to lunch. I hope we end up with an afternoon off early.

I had weird dreams last night. Running from the police in the halls of a building. “Stay with this guy, he knows how to get away”. But it was all slow motion. At one point I was in a waiting room with several people and every once in a while, a little weak police would come out and put cuffs on one of us and take him away.. I could leave easily but don’t. It’s one of those dreams that says “Something bad is going to happen, but you could avoid it easily”. One of those dreams that makes me feel weak and passive and used. One of my least favorite kinds of dreams.

I’m glad the Bengals beat Philly last night. I didn’t watch, but I followed on my phone till halftime. When I was a kid, the Bengals practiced in Wilmington, Ohio, where my Mom grew up. I was a kid and we went to one of their practices. So I like the Bengals.

Anyway, have a good weekend!

cant miss it

Last night I dreamed I was driving a car. I was looking for a turn. You cant miss it. I was told. I drove and drove. “I think we missed it!” I said. You cant miss it, I was assured.
Turns out we passed it before anyone told us we couldn’t miss it. It was the first turn you couldn’t miss.
It was a long way back.

Then I had a dream I was taking these excellent pictures. Like you couldn’t look away excellent. Neither dream was bad. The first was funny and the second was, well, excellent!

I started plastering the sides of the driveway with mortar. I will continue today.
Also I have some interesting business opportunities coming up….
Fingers Crossed!

Weird Dream Wednesday

I just typed a very long post about all the weird dreams I had last night. I uploaded a photo of the track of Tropical Storm Ernesto, pressed the letter “N” for my next word, and the whole thing disappeared. I hit undo several times, but could not get my post back. Let me tell you, while I still think wordpress is better than Blogger, crap like that never happened on Blogger.

So lets start again, all pissed off this time.

I had a bunch of weird dreams last night. I dreamed I was going to be tortured by having my feet smashed against a wall with bricks. I was more concerned with having to stand there the whole time than the pain. I elected not to do it and walked away. This was on a ship, or a train.

I dreamed I was in this building carved out of a cliff. There were doorways with no doors, windows with no glass, and pools of green water in almost every room. I walked to the road and got on my bicycle and rode away, but forgot something and had to go back.

I dreamed I went to the cigar store and someone said “don’t buy any cigars today”. I wanted a cigar so I asked and the owner started yelling at me. Everything was all weird and different. The store wasn’t normal.

There were more on my first post, which I have forgotten already. Damn you WordPress!

It is a poor musician who blames his instrument.

At one point I woke up and my feet were where my head should have been and my head was where my feet go. I slept a lot,  but not good.

Ernesto is gone and we got maybe two inches of rain, judging from my bucket outside. We need more. It has been raining regularly in town but not here. I was hoping for a direct hit from Ernesto just for the rain. It looks like today is going to get sunny again.

And that’s it for today. I have some work this afternoon at yet another radio station. Where’s the money? I work but there’s no money…
