The Dead Watch

I swam the half mile yesterday. My new Samsung Active 2 died, first time I put it in the water. Where I bought it specifically said the warranty does not cover water damage. The watch is rated to 50 meters deep and is made to track swimming You will, i think, find 3 dead Samsung watches on this blog. I’m pretty done with Samsung watches..

All these fitness trackers claim to be waterproof, but none really seem to be. 50 meters is like scuba diving waterproof.

i.really enjoy having my sleep and exercise monitored though…. What’s next? I’m looking at a OnePlus Band. 26 dollars, used.

Holiday Monday

its a holiday Monday here. It has been a good long weekend . I have kept busy but noticed a phenomenon. I can be busy all day, and if I have an hour idle between activities , i feel like I’m wasting my whole life. Awareness is more than half the solution though. Now that I know I do it, I can easily knock it off.

But it’s a good weekend. Beach, pickleball, yardwork (a little), yoga, went to a cookout. My Bluetooth headset died after over a year of constant use and I replaced it with the same kind.

Im trying to add a 5th cat to my crew of 4.

Slow Runnings

I slept pretty good last night. Feel pretty good this morning. The dogs got a long walk and the only disadvantage of my abs app is the sessions seem to get longer. So in short, I’m running a little behind this morning.

Heres a couple sunrise pics from this morning. Usually I’m well inside by sunrise. But the days are starting earlier this tima year!

Best Abs App

Above is the best abs workout app I’ve found so far. Yeah, it has a girl in the picture but it’s not for girls only. This app is better and stands out because, through the counting and beeps, it doesn’t let you cheat.

For quite a long time (years) I’ve been doing morning exercises., i search for and download a good workout app, run through it start to finish, uninstall and repeat. This one is the best ever so far.

You WILL get sore, you WILL cuss at the app.

Normal Nights

I have very few “normal evenings” between now and the beginning of March. Visitors and recording events filling the weekends and some weeks.. I’ll be pretty much running nonstop for a while.

I’m not complaining, I’m glad to be busy, don’t get me wrong, but I didn’t sleep very well last night I’d like to be getting off on a better foot.

I doubt lack of sleep will affect me too bad today I’ve been swimming the half mile almost every day and pretty strenuous exercise in the morning. I was planning on taking it easy in that regard today.

Tomorrow should be back on track, sleep-wise!

Walking and Diving

It was a good weekend, Saturday was the 5K walk / run.

Sunday was a nice dive, although we had to shift the dive spot from south to north.

it was nice dive with a stingray and boxfish that posed for me. And the stingray let me pose with her!

And now it’s back to work on a Monday

Pickleball

I slept pretty good last night, but I’m tired right now.. I took it easy on my morning exercise this morning. I have a body full of sore muscles, and I plan on swimming at lunch. I won’t mention yesterday’s chin-ups.

After work I have a pickleball lesson. From what I understand pickleball is exactly like ping Pong except you’re standing on the table. Seriously, it looks like tennis.

Tomorrow I’ll let you know how it went!

Fantastic Weekend

Saturday was an 800 Meter Sea Swim. I did’t swim well, I went way off course, but it was still good. Saturday evening, I went to the movies and sau A Man Called Otto. Loved it. Complimented the book.

Sunday saw me go to an early morning yoga class, which left me feeling great, followec by coffee on the beach at the Westin and then a scuba dive.

I planned on house cleaning and yaard work after that but took a nap and did very little cleaning. I went to bed early and don’t think I woke up once all night, except 4 minutes before the alarm, and I went right back to sleep.

And now it’s back to work, and I’m actually looking forward to it.

What If?

My meditation this morning included “what would you do today if you had one week to live?” I would do the same thing I’m doing. I’d go to work, then the beach for lunch. (Maybe I wouldn’t go to work, just the beach). As far as dying in a week? I really don’t feel like I’d care. I have a great life, i can see it’s better than most peoples. I wouldn’t trade places with anybody, but I’ve been around long enough for me. On a side note, I’d rather die fast than decay slowly.

The meditation said that any breath could be our last. At the time, i was standing with my feet wide apart, trying to get my head to touch the floor. (Only about two feet to go!) I could easily fall and break my neck. Any breath COULD be our last. But oh well, can’t worry about it.

Seems like a morbid post this morning, but it isn’t really.. Have a fun day!

5K Dog Jog

The dawgies and I had a nice time at the dog jog. (We walked, we didn’t jog). Afterwards we went to the beach and had coffee with a friend.. (who took my picture).

It was a nice, quiet day after that.
