You are truly blessed to have such a holiday. Here, outside of the US, it’s not National Taco Day, (that would make it international taco day) but my heart will be with you as you celebrate your wonderful culture! Nothing is more American than the taco!
It’s a good Friday, had a nice Yom Kippur yesterday with an easy fast. I was only “lunchtime hungry” by the end, but I was thirsty thirsty thirsty! I think it was the first time since before my Bar Mitzva that I went to all the services.
Today is laundry, clean and catch-up day. (I’m using vacation days, as I need to be rid of them before the end of the year.)
I woke up this morning feeling better than I felt in a long long time. Finally. I feel like I slept good for the 1st time in a long long time. Finally. Hope I can keep it up, at least for a while.
The last 2 nights have been Rosh Hashanah. Happy New Year 5782!
Yesterday all I gotta do is go to work no other plans or obligations. Except some grocery shopping, I gotta do some grocery shopping.
It was a nice weekend, right up until today. Friday I went to dinner with my Friday night dinner club. Saturday I finished painting the roof (except I’m going to put another coat on.) And made it to the Annual Mango Fest in George Town.
I really wanted a Mango smoothie but for some reason they were gone, already finished. But I did have some good juices and bought a piece of art. Two Cayman Parrots.
I really like it.
Sunday, I finally made it to Ragazzi Pizza on the beach at Luca. It was my 4th time, but they had been closing early. Basically the advert was wrong. It was really good pizza and locale. I will be going back with friends.
After Luca, went to this little beach right in the middle of town. It has been calling me for weeks. So I went and found lots of sea glass. And I tried to take a video but instead got a series of pictures. Not sure what I did wrong, but the result was interesting.
Today is cloudy and rainy, Tropical Storm Elsa is to our north. We had heavy lighting and rain last night and this morning. Today, (bank holiday) looks lIke it’s going to be a write-off, which is OK in my book. Tomorrow will be sunny again, I hope.
Elsa is slated.to move more north of Grand Cayman now, but Cayman Brac and Little Cayman are still on the edge of the cone. Today is looking pretty good weather-wise and I think I’m going to risk a scooter ride to work. Hope it doesn’t rain on me!
It’s a long weekend coming up with a holiday Monday. I think it’s the last Cayman holiday until November.
On our way home! Shuttle bus to airport, plane ride, quick shopping trip at Dolphin Mall in Miami, another plane ride, car ride and we’ll be HOME! Italy was great! We’ll be back!
Today we depart Udine, after finally meeting my Pen Pal of over a decade and a half.
Giorgio wrote a letter to Radio Cayman, looking for a pen pal. Our accounts/HR officer gave the letter to me, asking if I was interested. I wrote back and the rest is history!
It has been wonderful spending time here and meeting Giorgio and his family. We have enjoyed their hospitality immensley! They picked us up at the train station and took us sightseeing. We have not needed a taxi once in Udine.
I hope we meet again soon!
Udine in general is a beautiful town, I personally, think it kicked Romes butt!
