Thankful Thursday

I went to the beach at lunchtime yesterday, but the water was kinda  rough, and I didn’t go snorkeling. Today would be a good day for some underwater pictures, but I don’t have any new ones. I don’t have anything to post about, either.

9 people killed in a church in Charleston.
60 million immigrants worldwide right now, people who have fled their homes and countries because of wars and conflicts.

I’m lucky and glad I live where I do. All my problems pale in comparison to what many have to deal with.

My lawnmower is broken.
Dog pooped on the porch.
Waves too big to get photos at my beach lunch.

I’ve got a full set of problems right now. Six months ago I had a full set of problems. Six months from now I’ll still probably have a full set of problems. On a good day, maybe I get rid of five old problems and only get three new ones, on a bad day, maybe I get five new and only get rid of three. But right now, I can’t remember what my full set of problems were six months ago, and six months from now, I probably won’t remember what my full set of problems is today.
The secret of life is not to wait til I get rid  of all my problems and finally have a perfect life, the secret of life is to be happy, even with my unresolved problems, because my “in box” will  never be empty.

This is something I know, but forget all too often.

Have a good day.

Cuba

So, Cuba is opening up to the USA. Bad idea, I think. What does the USA have to bring to the table? Anything Cuba needs it can get from somewhere else. Cuba has one of the best medical systems and one of the highest literacy rates in the world. The USA has been sinking for years, pulling Cayman and other countries down with it. The US is grabbing on to Cuba like a drowning fat boy grabbing a bacon sandwich.
I realize I don’t have all the facts and details, I just hope Cuba can protect itself.
The US will only harm Cuba, wait 5 or 10 years and see.

Ferguson Missouri

I usually stay away from politics and news here, but:

I don’t know what’s going on in Ferguson Missouri. A known gang member was shot and killed trying to wrestle a policeman’s gun from him. Physical evidence proves it.

What’s the problem?

If he had succeeded in stealing the policeman’s gun, he probably would have been a big hero in certain circles… Like in prison or the groups that are rioting and looting Ferguson.

We Must Unite, And Boycott Toilet Paper!

The US Governments exposure for illegally collecting information is a decoy ploy so citizens worldwide don’t notice another heinous dastardly deed taking place.

A couple years ago, maybe three or four, I noticed a new advert on the rolls of toilet paper. “Big Roll” or “Mega Roll”. Here you see “Ultra Roll”.

tp

All my life, a roll of toilet paper has been big enough to fit between the roller on the toilet paper holder, so when I saw these declarations, I thought they had found a way to fit more sheets per roll, or were cutting the little squares a little smaller, because the rolls were the same size as always. And I though it was odd that there was no “normal size” roll.

The other day, for the first time since the Ultra, Mega and Giant labels appeared, The Wife came home with “Normal” size roll. It’s half a frikkin roll of toilet paper!

Now, it becomes clear that the Ultra Mega Giant was a ploy to make us think that since the beginning of toilet paper history, we’ve been getting a roll and a half on each roll and now, the toilet paper companies are setting things straight. That’s what the TP companies would like us to believe.

It’s a ripoff, and we must fight back by boycotting Toilet Paper! I know that isn’t possible, but at least boycott the companies that are involved in this horrendous vile scheme.

Seriously, think about it. Toilet paper companies can charge whatever they want, because TP is a necessary product that you can’t live without. And seriously, one company at least has halved the size of the product, doubling the cost without a price increase. And if one company gets away with it, soon all the other companies will follow suit.

I predict that this will be a case where the people will be sheep and pay whatever the cost, complaining all the time. I can’t do anything by myself, but I will never again by the product pictured above, who I think is starting this ripoff.

Margaret Thatcher

I just took my first sip of coffee since Friday morning. I haven’t been drinking it when I was sick. I didn’t want any. Actually it doesn’t taste too great.

mtMargaret Thatcher died yesterday. Politically, I don’t really have any strong sentiment. It’s sad when anyone dies, but to me, she was one of Ron Reagans buddies who helped crank up the debt. It seems history is being rewritten while I watch. TO me Ron Reagan wasn’t a great president. He increased debt more than anybody ever. Now he’s dead, and everybody talks like he was sooo great. Let’s name an aircraft carrier after him. Lets re-name Washington National Airport after him. No, lets don’t. Oops too late.

Now I don’t believe anything I was taught in history class in school.

That’s it for today, I’m working myself into a mood I don’t want to be in. Sorry Margaret Thatcher died, condolences to her family.
