Im waiting for my ride to the airport. I’m really sad to be leaving. Everyone took me under their wing and treated me so well. Hard to believe that tomorrow I’ll be back at work.
See you tomorrow!
Today is my last full day. In Panama. I leave tomorrow at 3PM and will be leaving the Monkey Lodge about 11 or noon I guess. It’s been an absolutely fantastic visit. I hope to come back, but I also hope to explore more of Panama.
Some of the pics below are Panorama, so be sure to click them all and see the full version. Also Travlin’ Tim is in there too!
Yesterday I went to a big mall, Altaplaza Mall. I got a cell phone holder that I hope will work in my car and a couple Everlast T Shirts. My Uncle.owned Everlast and my dad was VP back in their boxing days.. My uncle sold it years ago before he died.
They’d be pleasantly surprised to see a whole Everlast Store I think!
Today there’s some sort of yoga event here. Ashtanga, meditation and an Ice Bath! Ice quick dip for me! I hope to have an afternoon beach walk on the Pacific Ocean. What luxury! Not too many people can pick their ocean on a whim!
Have a wonderful day!!
The trip.to the Caribbean side of Panama was good. I made an interesting observation though.
As a rule, the Atlantic is to the east of the Americas, (North America, Central America and South America), and the Pacific to the west.
In Panama however the Atlantic (Caribbean) is to the north with the Pacific being to the South. So, this morning, we were headed to Colon, on the Caribbean (or Easterly, by common knowledge and instinct). But, oddly, the sun was behind us, because the sun is almost overhead at the Tropic of Capricorn this time of year. The human brain tells us that when the sun is behind us in the morning, we are heading west. West being towards the Pacific. The opposite direction that we were going. It was an odd thing for the brain to grasp. The sensation of going west, away from the sunrise, was a very odd sensation indeed! I knew we were heading east, but it wasn’t really East because it was North, and it wasn’t really North because the rising Sun was behind me!
Do ya see what I’m saying? Really bizarre.
The Caribbean was nice, there are huge trees on the beaches, which you will not find in the Cayman Islands. There’s many small beaches, isolated and remote. Very nice. I had lobster for lunch.
On another note, humor, day before yesterday, when we went to the lake, I was with the family from France. They spoke French. Yesterday, I was with a rather large group that was the flight crew from Air France who was on layover in Panama. They all were speaking French too. Also the owner of this hotel and his wife, plus the tour guide operator, are all from France and all prefer to speak French.
Does anybody in Panama speak Spanish?
Have a great day!
Yesterday I visited the Miraflores Locks at the Panama Canal. There was only one small ship going through, in fact, it had passed by the time I got there. But I did see a lock fill, very rapidly and the whole thing was very very cool.
There was also.an Imax movie.
Today I’m checking out the lake at the top of the canal.
Have a great day!
In this book, people can get their shadows modified, like maybe have a kings crown on your shadow or butterfly wings. Kinda like getting a tattoo or a piercing maybe.
But there’s more. Some shadows can be grown and detached and live on past the lives of their owners. Your shadow likes to drink you blood, if you feed it. Your shadow may be able to go through a keyhole, solidify on the other side and open the door for you.
Or kill someone. Or be stolen.
Magic.
Interesting read, and entertaining, pretty good plot, well defined characters. But still not recommended by me .
I made it yesterday with no problems. This place is really nice. It reminds me a lot of places I’ve visited in Costa Rica. The vegetation, the mountains, the building style. Below is the pool, right outside my room.
The inside ceiling of my cottage , and my cottage.(I’ll get a better shot in better light later)
The bed is fantastic and make me think I need a new mattress at home.
Below is one of the four Monkey Lodge dogs.
I had a superb dinner last night. I’m going downtown this afternoon, and a yoga class this morning.
Below is my water heater. Works good but you need slow water flow ti give it time to warm up.
It is very remote, which is good and bad. It’s not going to be easy to get around. But I’ll probably have that sorted by the end of the day.
Happy Tuesday to you!
