No News Is Good News

It was a great weekend! Friday I stayed home while the Wife went out to Oktoberfest. Not my cuppa tea)

Saturday I went to the beach, wife had to work (only for two hours). The beach is full of seaweed, and I had the whole 7 Mile Beach to myself! Didn’t see another soul. The sea’s been pretty  rough, with the wind coming opposite the normal direction. Good sand n sun tho, it was great!

Sunday, we took Sheba to the beach at Barkers, not much seaweed there, came back, gave Sheba a bath. Then I trimmed the tree in the back yard. It had branches hanging down almost to the ground. After that we went to a friends house and hung out by the pool.

And I watched Football, Redskins won,  Dallas lost.

It was a good weekend.

Super weird dreams last night though. I had a brain twister about the anomalies of the number 96. And a different dream that someone was building real structures of optical illusions. There was a corner of a building, a house really, that was up on a pole. It had a still-alive woman from olden days, still young and not affected by time. And more illusions. Too weird to retain in the brain. Waker-uppers. I got up and laid on the back porch for a pretty long time, since
sleeping wasn’t comfortable.

But it was a good weekend! I feel pretty good this morning, despite lack of sleep. We’ll see now the day goes.

Have a good week!

Friday Finally Fantastic

It’s Friday. I feel very relaxed and calm. Not much to say today. All good.

Supposed to rain today, according to my weather apps. It has rained every day this week, but my weather apps have said all clear, so I rode the scooter. I got rained on once. Today, I’ll take the car, (on the weather app’s advice), so it’ll probably be clear. Not complaining.

Supposed to rain tomorrow. I’m supposed to go diving and look for an airplane that crashed long ago. Last night, I dreamed I went diving. I just remembered.

Have a great weekend!

Mission: Impossible. Rogue Nation

image

The wife and I went to see Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation last night. It was quite good. My favorite part was the underwater scene. And the motorcycle scene, just like me coming home from work. The movie was very action-packed with a good plot. Good comedy inserts too. Totally worth seeing at the theater.

Monday is gone. Tuesday is here. I think I’ll be moving into my old office today or tomorrow. (remember, there was a fire while I was on Vacation in Canada)

The weather’s been weird, super hot, no breeze daily isolated thunderstorms, only raining on me when I’m riding my scooter. No rain for our plants at home.

And that’ll do’er for today. Have a good-un!

Hurricane Danny

image

Hurricane Danny is out there, no one else here seems to be worried about it yet but me. I guess he’s still pretty far out, but within the next couple of days, Cayman may  be “in the cone”. I feel like we should start getting ready. Ya know, beat the rush…. Danny is supposed to weaken to a tropical storm from a hurricane in the next couple of days, maybe we’ll get some rain and I can wear my new raincoat!

It’s Friday, I’m not as excited about it as I thought I would be all week. Maybe the realization hasn’t sunk in yet because it was a short week for me.

I feel tired this morning, I woke up at 4, an hour early, and couldn’t get back to sleep.

I haven’t checked the local weather yet, and don’t know it it’s car or scooter today… We’ll see.

Have a great weekend!

I Now Believe Global Warming Is Real

image

When we were at (and on) the Athabasca Glacier, there were photos that showed the glacier receding over the years. My brother in law in Drake Bay, Costa Rica, last night was telling my wife about his colleague/associate/acquaintance has been measuring the decline in the numbers of frogs and snakes in the rainforests. When I got certified to scuba dive in 1981, we’d see sharks on practically every other dive, often groups of sharks. Now, seeing a shark is rare, one in ten or more dives.

Glacial decline has been measured since the 1850’s, (according to an article on Wikipedia), so I’m not sure it’s all humans fault, but I think humans main power is destructive and we need to change. I remember a book I read years ago, “Mutant Message Down Under”, and ask, Which society is more advanced? One that lives in a place 10,000 years, and you can’t even tell they were ever there? Or a society that practically destroys it’s environment with pollution and war in 250 years?

I think the answer is obvious.

Today is my first day back at work since my vacation. blah. Why do I have to go work to get money to buy a fish for dinner when I could just go out and get the fish myself. Because I also have to pay for my house and the bills. The whole system of money has something inherently wrong with it.

Beautiful Morning

It’s an incredibly beautiful morning. Hard to believe it’s supposed to rain later. This afternoon.. I was planning on driving the car but might take the scooter. Me, being in control of the weather, have the power to make it rain if I take the scooter, or make all the forecasters wrong by driving the car. I think I’ll take the car, I’ve been meaning to get some stuff from the hardware store…

I got nothing much to post, I think I’m in a mood. I’m ready for this week to be over so we can go on vacation.

My “mood” is related to work. I keep this blog “clean”, not posting about people or specific situations that could get me in trouble or be controversial.

I’m fixing to have more than $3000 worth of overtime ripped off….

Have a good day.

Rainy Friday Morning

When IĀ  started typing “rainy” above, it was raining hard. By the time I finished typing “Rainy”, it had stopped. That’s how we roll down here in the Caribbean!
Yesterday turned out pretty nice, it was sunny but the sky wasn’t blue because of some high, thin clouds.
Now it’s raining again. It’s supposed to rain tomorrow when we have our party for a friend who’s leaving the island.

Tonight the Wife and I are going to the premier of Jurassic World. There’s some kind of get-together beforehand and you’re supposed to wear blue. I was told why but didn’t pay attention.

Have a good weekend!

Weather Week,

I guess this week I’m posting about the weather. Today I’m taking the scooter, first time in a long time.

image

I actually see blue in the sky. Not enough blue to make a fat man a pair of pants, but some blue. More than in a long time.
My Navy friend said his Mom used to say that if there’s enough blue in the sky to make a fat man a pair of pants, the weather is going to clear up.

Lets hope so.

Three astronauts are on their way back to earth right now this minute. Among them is a woman who set a new record by spending 200+ days in space. Here’s a LINK.

Have a pleasant day.

Happy Hump Day!

Almost over the hump. Hoping for good weather this weekend.
I went to the beach yesterday at lunch, but did not swim. Today I will probably swim. There were a lot of peopleĀ  at the cloudy beach, Tryin’ ta act happy in the cloudy cold weather. They were doing a good job too, you know, acting happy. So I’ll probably join them today. I’m trying to be funny here, you know, overly dramatic? But I am definitely tired of the clouds.

image

And I definitely will join the sad sad tourists at the beach today.

Havva Guudun!

Ahh Tuesday

Workweek is already 20% done, after weeks of clouds, the weatherman is calling for it to start clearing up a bit. This is the third week of no scooter. I’m ready for some beach lunches/snorkeling.

Not much of a topic today, the weather. How are you doing?

Experimental pic, after all, the pic makes the post!
