Yesterday I was looking at a very common bush, and I noticed one of the flowers was half missing! Then I noticed that all the flowers were half missing!

Wonder where the other halves are? somewhere there’s a bush with half a flower on the top half!

Last night (and most of yesterday afternoon) I wasn’t feeling too well. I thought I was getting sick, weird stomach, sore throat, headache. Last night I went to bed at 7:30 and got up this morning at the regular time. I slept all night too! Normally I wake up hourly and get up and walk around.
Last night I slept like I wish I could sleep every night!

Today is my seventh day of seven days of vacation. It was fun. I have a lot of work waiting for me at work tomorrow. Looking forward to getting back, but trying not to think about it today

I read this entire article.

Once, I got busted for marijuana. They found some on the floor of the bathroom. It wasn’t mine, but since I had some pot, I got busted for what was on the floor, they didn’t care about whose it actually was.

I believe that US Law enforcement has no qualms about busting the wrong person.

I believe that if they have a case, they need a conviction. They do not care if they get the right person or not. Just so long as they get credit for closing the case. Kind of like mopping the floor without sweeping first. Or shoving everything under the bed when you’re supposed to clean your room.

I believe this is true at every level of state and federal law enforcement in the USA.

I worry about getting picked up for something, being unable to prove my innocence, and getting put away for something I didn’t do

For the record, I don’t do drugs or drink alcohol any more. Haven’t for over 18 years.

Once upon a time there was a group of scientists at an animal behavioral lab. They had four monkeys in a cage. Every day, they would lower some bananas into the cage. When the monkeys tried to grab the bananas, the scientists would spray the monkeys with ice cold water. Pretty soon, the monkeys didn’t try to grab the bananas anymore. Then the scientists took one monkey out and put a new one in. When they lowered the bananas into the cage, the new monkey tried to grab them but the other monkeys stopped him. Pretty soon, the new monkey didn’t try to get the bananas anymore either. Eventually, all the four original monkeys had been replaced with four new monkeys that had never been sprayed with ice water, but still the monkeys didn’t try to grab the bananas because they had been trained by their predecessors.

I did a dive on a wreck called the Carrie Lee, I took my camera a little deeper than it’s rated for.
But I took this video of the dive. It’s about 5 minutes long.

Yesterdays dive was fantstic. 432 feet.

Today is the Carrie Lee, a wreck that I am going to take my camera on. The bottom of the wreck is 235 feet, my camera housing is rated to 200.

The Wife gets back day after tomorrow. Can’t wait!

Today I plan on doing 425 feet (130 meters). My previous deepest is 407 feet .

Where does helium come from?

There is helium all around us in the air, but it is not a good source for helium collectors. There are only about 5 parts of helium for every 100,000 parts of air! People have discovered much richer sources of helium underground. Some radioactive elements, such as uranium, release alpha particles when they decay. An alpha particle is just a helium atom with no electrons. Deep in the Earth where these radioactive decays take place, the alpha particles capture electrons and become helium. As the radioactive deposits age, large quantities of helium become trapped in underground caverns. To collect the helium, people drill down into the caverns and capture the helium as it escapes.

Most people are familiar with helium balloons. We put helium in these balloons, because it is lighter than air and is non-flammable. However, most of the helium used today is in liquid form. All gases become liquids when the temperature becomes low enough, or when excessive pressure is used. Scientists use liquid helium for experiments that have to be kept very very cold. Helium becomes a liquid at 270^oC below zero!
