Happy Anniversary!

Ten Years ago this evening, I was on Cayman Brac and I met the girl who became my wife.
I firmly believe that there is no better human on this planet than she is. I wouldn’t change a thing. She is the best part of my life and the best part of my day, every day.

My first words to her were “Which one of these two cables is longer?” I asked, holding up two coils of audio cable. I was working for Radio Cayman and she was at the front desk of Brac Reef Resort.

While today isn’t any sort of official anniversary, like a birthday or wedding anniversary, it’s the anniversary of a day that changed my life for the better, forever.

Weird Dream Morning

I get up in the dark, now I’m watching the sun come up on the clouds.

Last night I dreamed The Wife & I got up and went outside, but I forgot a book. I  went back inside and went upstairs, and it was the wrong house. There were about four beds in the room, with couples in each one. Lots of other people too, walking around, getting coffee, using the bathrooms. Like a community bedroom/house. Nobody seemed to notice I didn’t belong there.

I went back outside, and looked at the house number, 1061. I thought  we were in 1071. There were a row of houses, all identical.  I went in number 1071, and it was the wrong house too. Then I woke up.

The houses were all old, Leave It To Beaver,1950’s houses. Weird dream.

Late Starting Monday

Normal routine, took 15 minutes longer than normal. Running. late.

Got the new phone in record time, ordered it on Thursday, got the phone on Friday. And the phone is great!

Happy New Year! It is the year 5776.

My Next New Phone

I should be getting a new phone today, a LG G4. I’m pretty excited. It has good reviews and specs. ⏳⌛. I ordered it yesterday, and it might be here today. Not bad.

Friday. Yeay. I’ll be glad when work is over this afternoon.

Should Be Interesting

Today is the groundbreaking for the airport expansion project. Should be interesting and bust up the routine of the week.

I thought about posting last night instead of today, but didn’t. 10 year routine is hard to bust up.

I need a new phone. My battery is shot. I keep it plugged in the charger all the time practically. It’s not portable anymore, it has a wire attached to the wall. I got home from work yesterday and plugged it in. When I went to bed, it was fully charged, so I unplugged it. While I slept, not using the phone at all, the battery went to about 50% capacity. Now I hope I can get it juiced up enough to make it to work and thru the ground breaking ceremony.

Forgot All About It

I forgot all about posting in the afternoons, ’till I sat down to post this morning.

Night before last I had some weird dreams. One, I dreamed a chicken was flying through the door, and I swatted at it to keep it from flying in the house. I swatted the nightstand and woke myself (and my wife) up. Didn’t break anything on the nightstand. It was like an 8-bit chicken though, think 1980’s video game.

In another dream, my wife said “You’re always asking me if you can help me, now I need your help, and you won’t help me”. I sat bolt upright, looked around, wife sleeping, all quiet. I laid back down and went back to sleep. No video in that dream, just her voice. This one’s bugging me a little.

Now it’s Wednesday, I’ve been driving the car for about two weeks.  Hasn’t rained on me. Might take the scooter today. It’s been thunderstorming every day, just not on me. It HAS rained at work, while I’ve been inside, maybe I better take  the car…. We’ll see.

Poor Lil Blog

I was just looking at WordPress’s “Freshly Pressed”. There are some amazing posts. It makes me wish my blog was better. I don’t have topics. Maybe I shouldn’t post first thing in the morning. It’s been part of my morning routine for years, coffee and post. But my brain isn’t up to speed in the morning, I don’t think, (how would I know?)

I love my camera, and I carry it around everywhere but seldom use it. Blog posts need photos, I think. I wish I had a job that required me to take pictures. Maybe. I never really had that thought before till now, when I just typed it. I’m 55 and still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up.

I was sleeping very deeply when  the alarm went off this morning. I feel very dazed. Just started cuppa coffee #2. Maybe I will try some afternoon postings for a while. Maybe I won’t. I don’t like to be indoors when it’s daytime. I can’t see my internet device in the sun. Maybe I need to make some changes. My life is routine, routine, routine. I think I like routine, maybe I don’t.

I don’t know, I’m rambling.

Weekly Weekend Report

It was an  all right weekend.
Friday, quiet evening at home. Saturday, The Wife had a Girls brunch, I went to the beach. In the evening we went to some friends house and hung out. Sunday,  mowed the front yard only. And didn’t do much else. It was a high cloud day yesterday, plenty of heat, but not much sun, for a while, then there were intermittent high clouds and low clouds all day. It’s that time of year, rain almost every day, hurricanes and storms lined up in the Atlantic.

I need to start taking more pictures. I don’t take them so I don’t have them to post.

Now it’s back to work, the past two weeks have been fast and I hope this week is too.

Happens All The Time….

They weren’t in my pockets. Suddenly I realized I must have left them in the car. Frantically, I headed for the parking lot. My wife has scolded me many times for leaving my keys in the car’s ignition. She’s afraid that the car could be stolen. As I looked around the parking lot, I realized she was right. The parking lot was empty. I immediately called the police. I gave them my location, confessed that I had left my keys in the car, and that it had been stolen.
Then, I made the most difficult call of all to my wife: “I left my keys in the car and it’s been stolen.”
There was a moment of silence. I thought the call had been disconnected, but then I heard her voice. “Are you kidding me?” she barked, “I dropped you off!”
Now it was my turn to be silent. Embarrassed, I said, “Well, come and get me.”
She retorted, “I will; just as soon as I convince this cop that I didn’t steal your damn car!”

Who’da Thunkit?

Friday got here fast. Again. Yesterday it felt like Wednesday, I kept reminding myself it wasn’t.

I moved back to my old office yesterday.

Also yesterday, Almost got whacked by a school bus at the West Bay 4 way stop. I pulled up to the stop sign, there was a car to my left, with the bus behind it. The car went, then I went, and the bus just followed the car in front of it without even stopping or slowing down. I had to slam on the brakes (and horn) in the middle of the intersection! I wasn’t running my dashboard camera….. If I had been you’d see the video here, as well as the police would have seen it. Wasn’t as bad as I made it sound on Facebook.

Been driving the car all week, rain every day. At least it’s sunny when it’s not raining.

I guess that’ll do ‘er for today, have a hood weekend!
