Pool Party Day

Yesterday I spent time with Julia, and we went to her pool, where there was a “brunch club and a three piece band playing. Julia’s daughter is the head lifeguard there. I was always a lifeguard back in the day

After the first pool party, we went to the second pool party, at a private residence. (that’s the picture all the way at the top).

After that I visited my Brothers grave at the cemetery. And Travlin’ Tim.

I was a little upset that I couldn’t find my father’s grave.

On the way back to my mom’s, I stopped by the house I lived in when I was a senior in high school and where I departed for the Navy from. My Navy recruiter was probably parked about where I took the picture from when I came out and he took me to boot camp. It’s a day I won’t forget! I’d do it again in a heartbeat

It looks quite the same except the garage is added, we just had a carport.

Last evening , ai met with Julia again and said goodbye for now. She’s on her way to a 4th of July “camping” trip on Asateague Island. I think she had most of the contents of her house in her car, and she’s “camping” in a friend’s house down there… Where I used to go camping, we took a backpack and boots.

AND today my mother and I are headed down to see my sister in North Carolina. Road Trip!

Have a great day!

In Maryland

Got here last night after dark. My first tike (I think) at Dulles Airport. Got my car and am at my mom’s

It’s a pretty nice car, for a Chevrolet.

Headed to DC today and NC tomorrow.

Have a great day !

Duolingo Winding Down

At one point, I had over 23,000 gems. Now I believe Duolingo is kicking me out. They are giving me questions that I have not received any input for. Literally every question I answer is wrong or a lucky guess. I don’t even know what the subject is I think it’s past tense but I’m not sure it’s costing me about over 900 gyms a day because after five mistakes it cost 450 gems to continue.

I earned my 23,000 gems maybe 15 or 30 gems a day by studying daily for years.

They used to provide the information on the upcoming lesson. Not this time.

Some businesses seem to think that they reduce the quality of their product to non-usable, people will give them money. To me, logically if the product is no good, I’m certainly not going to give them money. Do you think it was supposed to be free. I watch their advertisements I play the game as I’m supposed to play it.

when I run out of gems, I’m gone. After years of practice I still can’t hold a conversation anyway.

Hey! It’s almost the weekend!

On Breathing

The other day it occurred to me as I was breathing that my lung capacity seemed lower than I remembered it. And last night as I was breathing, it seemed to be much larger more expansive than ever before. It seemed almost limitless. I could inhale forever without stopping. I’m going to have to examine the differences between perceived lung capacity and stress and what’s going on in the mind. It’s quite interesting to notice. I’m now looking forward to the next time at my lung capacity seems lower than usual.

I picked this pineapple from my yard. It has been in my fridge and I cut it up yesterday and I’ve been eating it. It is an absolutely perfect pineapple. I already have the top growing the next pineapple!

Maybe fresh pineapple increases ling capacity?

Happy Tuesday !

Kings Birthday Holiday

Today is the holiday for the King Off England’s birthday. Glad for the day off.

it was a good weekend . I had a class on Trauma Sensitive Yoga Friday and Saturday Yesterday (Sunday) was a fairly typical Sunday. Beach yoga in the morning and then coffee after.

Went out to dinner Saturday night after class was done. It was pretty good.

My Aunt and her friend and I had lunch yesterday, they fly out today, back to Costa Rica.

Today I’m trying to wrap up my course, still at 98%.

Thats about it! Have a great day!

1400 Days

Today marks 1400 days studying Spanish on Duolingo.

I still can’t speak Spanish well enough to have a conversation, but I just keep going.

Have a great day!

Goldie Update

it’s hard for me to understand the psychology that would cause a cat to run away from their bowl of food. That is what Goldie was doing. I would put the food down in front of him, he would stick his nose in it and literally run out of the yard under the gate and away.

last night I fed the two cats, Knip started whooding it down like the pig that he is, and Goldie left the premises. I came back inside.

Moments later, it started raining quite hard. I went back outside to move the food bowls away from the rain, further back into the carport. Goldie was there, hiding from the rain. Because of the rain, there was nowhere to run. He ate. This morning, I fed them both, expecting Goldie to run away but he ate again this morning.

The last time I went on a trip, the pet sitter would chase Goldie down the street with the bowl of food. I specifically told her not to because it changes the behavior of the cats, but she did it anyway. And like I said at the beginning I don’t understand the psychology of a cat running away from food but maybe somebody chasing you with a bowl of food would have something to do with it. That end toothache pain.

Anyway, I know Goldie ate yesterday, and I know Goldie ate today. For that I am grateful.

Have a great day

Busted Van Gogh Chair

The picture below is a work of art

This is called the Van Gogh chair.. Some tourists sat on it and broke it in a museum in. Italy. Then they fled.. See the security camera video below.

The chair is crystal-covered, made by the artist Nicola Bolla.

I think the whole thing is hilarious and the museum shouldn’t look for the perpetrators. The museum, and the artist, can only blame themselves..

Why would anybody make a chair so dang weak you couldn’t sit in it? What is it made of? Why wouldn’t you just buy a regular chair and glue your glitter on there like any 5 year old kid would?

If it’s so precious and valuable, why is it in the museum unsupervised, up against the wall, looking like a chair that you’d sit in to try on some new shoes? Why don’t they have a rope around it or some kind of barricade? It’s not a piece of art, it’s a piece of junk..

Read the whole article here. I think the whole thing is beyond silly.

Everybody was in the wrong. The couple sitting in the chair knew they shouldn’ta. The attendant shouldn’t have left his post, the museum should have had the display set up properly, and the artist should have never made such a weak ass piece of art. And what’s with the title of the “piece”? Van Gogh chair? One might assume it’s a chair from Vincent Van Gogh s house and therefore was a real chair. Why not sit in it?

The whole thing makes me think of a story I heard about someone leaving their lunch debris on a table in a museum, and it stayed there because everyone thought it was an exhibit…

What’s the saying? One person’s garbage is another person’s art? That Van Gogh chair’s total garbage.

I think the chair looks better broken than intact. It’s far more more artsy and contemplative broken. It has.a sad personality broken.. Give a cash bonus to the couple who “fixed it” by sitting in it!

Happy Tuesday! Have a great day!

PhotoPost

It was a good weekend. Friday I went with all Bermudian friends to see Bermuda VS Cayman Islands. Cayman won, men and women.

Satuday was the annual 1-mile sea swim. My time was 39 minutes and 55 seconds, I had hoped to finish under 40 minutes, so that’s good.

Yesterday I went diving. I saw the smallest juvenile spotted drum I’ve ever seen. It was a nice dive, and my first in a couple months.

Also, my Aunt from Costa Rica is visiting with a friend. We went out to lunch after the diver I shoulda got a selfie.

And now it’s back to work.. Again.

Have a great week!

Goldie

Goldie runs away from his food bowl. He will maybe taste it, then runs away.

I’m worried , that every time I see him might be the last. he’s so old…

He did finally eat this morning, on my way out the door. He tried running, but I grabbed him by the scruff of the neck, put him on a table, put the food in front of him, and he ate.

Happy Friday the 13th!
