Good Morning Monday

UGH. Monday. It was a nice, quiet, cool windy Valentines Day weekend. We went out to dinner Saturday and beat the Sunday crowds.

Don’t have much to write about this morning.  The weather should be relatively good. Scooter day.

The Wife is talking about a trip to Monument Valley in May, our annual vacation. Sounds pretty good to me.
We’ll see how it pans out.

This morning, when I came out of the shower and was ready to get some coffee, I did a little dance and sang: “Yeay! Coffee!”

I didn’t mean to do it, it just happened.

Have a good weekend!!!

Happy Thursday!

It’s Thursday, but feels like Monday, because of the day off yesterday. That’s bad for today, buut good for tomorrow, when it will be FRIDAY!
Here it continues to be windy and cold, with no end in sight.

No sun in the pictures above.

Valentines day is coming, what should I get the Wife? Any ideas? There’s the usual, jewelry and lingerie… I’m open to sugestions!

January sped by and February is speeding, Every year is getting shorter and shorter. When I turned forty, I thought, “My life is about half over”. Let me tell you, the second half seems to be going a lot faster than the first half!

I guess that’ll do it for today, have a great day!

Wednesday Holiday

Here it’s a Wednesday holiday day off from work. Ash Wednesday.

I’m drinking coffee, wife still sleeping.

My new fitbit died, totally dead now. Back to the ‘ol watch.

tomorrow it’s back to work.

Cereal, The Perfect Food

I love cereal, any time of day. My favorite is Fiber One Rasin Bran Clusters. With Very Vanilla soymilk

Cereal and milk is the perfect food because  It tastes good, it’s good for you, it”s easy to prepare. no cooking, doesn’t get too many dishes dirty. And you don’t have to get anything to drink while you’re eating it, because of the milk. So it makes a very efficent meal. I’m sure there’s a lot more reasons why cereal is the perfect meal, can you think of any?

I think I’ll go get a bowl right now! I’ve talked myself into it!

Here  it is very cold and windy. By cold, I mean low 70’s. I took the car yesterday becaause of the cold and I’ll probably take it again today.

My Fitbit that I talked about yesterday seems to be a dud. The battery only lasts about 8 hours. I have to review their warranty options online today.

Fitbit

My wife got me a Fitbit Charge, she’s had one a while and likes it. I expressed an interest and she surprised me!

It seems pretty cool. It’s fun entering all the info from the food you eat, keeping track of everything. I especially like the  bar code scanner.

It measures your activity during the day, and how you sleep at night.

I wear it in the shower, but not in the sea, not sure how waterproof it is.. I’ll find out, but I’m pretty sure you can’t take it diving.

Superbowl was yesterday. Both teams sucked. Denver had no third down conversions but won it. Carolina didn’t play well at all either.

It’s Monday, I’m tired and crabby. It’s cold and wwindy outside…Good day for working, if there ever was

God Must Not Want Me To Have Money

You’ve heard me complain about money many times. I don’t think money is in the cards for me.

I pay homeowners insurance 10 months out of the year, these are the two “off” months. Instead of having a little extra money, I get extra bills. New tires for the car and scooter.  Dentist. I have accepted the fact that I will always be broke. God doesn’t want me to have money.

At least it’s Friday! And I live where I want to live!

Have a good weekend!

Assumptions, Expectations and Attitude

When I was a kid, I didn’t completely understand the rules of American football. I got on the football team, hoping to learn the rules more than actually play football, but everyone seemed to know them (but me). They were never taught, and out of shame, I never asked. I sucked on my high school football team, msstly because I never knew what I was doing. To this day, I am still aware of rules I don’t know in American Football.

Not so many years later, I had been a lifeguard at a swimming pool for a couple of years. I took a pool managers course to learn about taking care of the pool itself. I think it was in the evenings at a local college. In the course, everyone (except me, apparently) already was a pool manager. They discussed flushing the filters, adding the chemicals. Everyone in the class was much older than me and already knew what I came to learn. In the class, we never flushed a filter, or even went to a pool! I never knew precisely what anyone was talking about, didn’t understand the terminology, and again, kept my mouth shut, because I didn’t want to be the sole idiot. I flunked the test, and was so angry, I wrote a scathing letter.

Both times, I didn’t know what was going on, I couldn’t see it until it was over, and I looked back with 20/20 hindsight. Both still cause me anger and resentment and shame today.

I don’t really know the point of this post. Something happened recently that reminded me of it, but now I can’t remember what that was.

I guess my point is, when in doubt, speak up.

Melatonin Dosage

I’ve been taking Melatonin before bed for over a year. Over time, I have found that 15 mg is the perfect dose. My pharmacist says this is fine. We have these 10 mg tablets. I was taking 2 before bed. Forthe past few days, I’ve been taking only 1. I notice that I’m waking up early and not able to sleep again. I guess it’s back to 2 again.
