Our cat, BTK (pronounced beeteekee) Seems to feel fine, but hre belly has swollen as big as a honeydew melon. This morning, when I fed them (we have 5 outdoor cats) I grabbed her and put her in a kennel to take to the vet today. I made her an appointment yesterday.) I know it’s for her own good, but I hope she’s not mad at me when we get back home. I also hope there’s not much wrong with her that a simple pill or shot won’t fix.
BTK is the mother of most of our cats, probably about 12 years old. She was always so good to her children, letting them have her food after they ate all theirs, even when they got older. My mentor for keeping an even temper. I’ll be glad when I get her home, safe and healthy.
It’s FRIDAY! Yeay!Have a good weekend!
Yesterday was a holiday Wednesday for the election. Today seems like the second monday this week. Glad tomorrow is the second Friday this week. I am very tired right now. I closed my eyes and could have fallen asleep while walking the dogs this morning.
Here’s a picture of Ashy, our cat, taken yesterday. She’s resting up for bedtime.
I’ll be perusing the election results today, but at first glance this morning, seems like we did coulda done better.
Back to work today after 10 days off, 4 vacation days, 2 holiday days and 4 weekend days. These last few days have been pretty poor.
Flew my first two flights on a Boeing Max 8. Didn’t crash.
Went to my friends funeral Saturday.
I did, after the funeral, have a very nice lunch at a very nice hotel.
.
Not the best of times for me, but you have a good week!
I’m on the plane, headed to the funeral. First flight on a Max 8. Kinda depressed feeling right now. The plane is shiny brand new though, hope I don’t spill my coffee!
Not sure if I should go to my friends funeral. It’s on Cayman Brac, about a 80 mile airplane ride.
I guess I’ll probably go. “Always go to your friends’s funerals, otherwise they won’t come to yours”, right? But I’m still not sure.
In other news, today is my last day of four vacation days. It was nice and relaxing but I didn’t get as much done around the house as I wanted. I didn’t dive because of the wind, and now it’s nice again. (another reason not to get on an airplane.)
In other news, Prince Phillip died this morning.
Long live the Queen!
Greatest show on earth. Read the article HERE. In Iceland, a volcano has been going off for some time. From what I see on the news, it is a non-violent eruption and people have been able to walk right up to the lava flows, very close.
When I was in the Navy at Pearl Harbor (Oahu) The volcano going off on the Big Island would give us hazy skies and I always wanted to go see the lava. But on Hawaii, it was too explosive and violent, so I never did. (That and laziness and the expense, etc.) The active volcano in Costa Rica was hidden in a shroud of clouds, and although we were techically in a danger zone, couldn’t see a durn thing.
I’ve never seen the northern lights either, We looked for them in Canada, but nada.
So, for me, the pictures and the story from the article above are spectacular, and I’d love to see it, especially both at once!.
Have a good Wednesday!
My latest book, (that I’m reading, not writing), is The Invisible Life Of Addie LaRue, already has me hooked. It’s about a girl, who, in the year 1714, escaping her unwanted marriage, makes a deal with “a god who answers at night”, and now will live forever, but everyone who meets her will forget her instantly. Now, it’s been 300 years, and the chapters of the book alternate between 1714 and 2014. Her parents and friends instantly all forgot her, and the people she sees every day never remember meeting her before.
the writing style is beautiful, I think. I can’t wholly put my finger on what makes this book so good.
Easter long weekend is over. Friday and Monday were holidays here. Today is day one of a four day vacation for me. We have our second quarantine guest coming. Yesterday the wife and I cleaned, and today professional cleaners are coming. Kind of like brushing your teeth before going to the dentist…
Have a great week!
