Its Discovery Day, a holiday Monday here in Cayman. It was supposed to rain for 10 days but it’s been mostly sunny. Hurt at last two of my low light plants pretty badly. I out them out for rain and they got sunburnt.
Below are pictures from yesterdays dive.
Also, on Saturday, I did the CIASA 800M Swim, I was pleasantly surprised to come in 3rd in my age category, willing a 3rd place medal. 3rd out of 5. I’ve never been a racer, I’ve never been on a swim team. I’ve been a lifeguard and swimming lesson teacher and scuba diver/instructor. I realized I am slow and steady,.one speed no matter how far I have to go. So I’m no longer obsessed about going fast, I want the t-shirt.
Friday the 13th is better than any Monday! Friday the 13th’s historically have been lucky days for me. As well as black cats.
It’s supposed to be rainy as well. It”s clear and sunny now. I put all my plants out last night, and if it doesn’t rain, my low light plants will get burnt. Hope not.
Also maybe I can get the housecleaning done that I FAILED to do last weekend!
In any case, have a lucky day and a fantastic weekend!
My second growing of bell peppers seems to be going much better than the first attempt. I was planning on posting a picture of the flowers I had yesterday, but they’re gone, replaced with pea sized peppers!
im so excited!
its supposed to be sunny today, then rain all weekend, all next week, and all next weekend. That’s as far as the extended forecast can stretch. Hopefully they’ll change their minds and throw some sunny days in the mix!
Yesterday I was informed that I have jury duty for months starting in July. I’m not thrilled. It won’t be every day, just “on call” to be selected.
Last time I had jury duty, I was in the US and I was a long haired hippie doper I only got picked once. Now I will be their leader, I’m sure I will be asked to be a judge before it’s over
Last night I bought a jar of olives. It was over $8 CI dollars which is over $10 US dollars. I came home, opened the jar and ate exactly one olive. I turned and noticed something had fallen into the sink. I turned back and saw a bug swimming in the liquid in the jar of olives. I tried to fish it out with the fork I was holding, but he went under. A second later, the bug popped to the surface and began swimming again. I successfully fished it out where it promptly died.
After some thought, I decided to dump the olives. I couldn’t have eaten them without thinking about that bug swimming in them. I wonder, if somehow, that bug was in there alive all the way from the manufacturer. It doesn’t seem possible but I hadn’t noticed any flies or anything around my kitchen, and I only looked away for a second. Did I see it pop to the surface and start swimming when I looked back from the sink? Did it actually dive under when I tried to fish it out with the fork? Or did I push it under? Was it a housefly or some kind of water bug?
I really like those expensive good olives, and was quite disappointed. However, I feel like I made the right decision by throwing them away.
And there you have it. My post for the day. Have a pleasant day.
All i planned on doing this weekend was cleaning the house. I failed gloriously. Saturday I went to breakfast with friends, then lunch with a different group of friends, then saw the Batabanu Carnival Parade.
Sunday I went diving then went to a yoga class, and then mowed the yard . Below are some underwater pictures from yesterday.
And now it’s back to work on a Monday and I don’t mind going.
Yesterday at work we had mandatory staff meetings, so no Cinco De Mayo lunch for our department. But today we’re going to make up for it by going out to lunch as a Department. All four of us.
Should be good!
And it’s Friday, I have tons of work in the yard and inside the house to do. Mow and clean mostly.
it’s a plain old day. Nothing spectacular just work, staff meeting, hopefully a beach lunch hour. I plan on going back to that yoga class tonight. I liked it.
And it’s looking like a good day is going to be unfolding today.
This morning on our walk I noticed a haze in the streetlights. Advancing further, I saw someone out burning bush. Along our morning walkpath there seems to be a lot of land clearing, fence putting up and even construction starting. A big sign that the construction craze is spreading our way.
There’s only two things I don’t like, the way things are, and change. (That’s supposed to be a funny-funny)
