It’s s Friday but I’m not feeling it. I’m paying over $300 for a spare key for the new car. The money is flowing out and I’m trying to apply the brakes but it doesn’t seem to be working.
It finally quit raining. There was enough blue in the sky this morning to make a fat man a pair of pants, (my navy friend Dave always said that) So hopefully Hurricane Helene is gone from Cayman. Not that Helene was ever really here.
I feel for those in Florida and the US where Helene’s going to hit..It’s a very big, very strong storm. Evacuate if you can and good luck to you.
Tha Cayman Islands is still in the hurricane spiral, even though the current storm, Helene, isn’t a hurricane and isn’t close to us.
Hurricane Beryl went by as a category 5 hurricane and Cayman hardly felt any effects at all. Tropical storm Helene wasn’t yet a named storm, wasn’t very close, and has been moving away since it began and we’re still getting howling wind and driving rain from it.
You never can tell what’s going on with the storms these days.
I’m headed back to work this morning, still stormy, screamingly windy and raining, probably worse than yesterday. I’m glad, yesterday was boring, depressing and lonely. I didn’t leave the house, except for the dog walks.
Schools are closed today, Conditions are expected to deteriorate throughout the day. Come on rain! We need it! The wind has already knocked over some of my bananas. The plants seem to be falling easily these days.
A locksmith unstuck the key Friday. Took the lock out of the steering column and disassembled it. I’m glad that’s behind me.
I used to have chickens stealing cat food, now I have a problem with ants. They fill the cat food bowl before the cats can even eat it. Requires immediate action.
The key for my new car was one of those big old fat keys with buttons on it and whatnot. I like an old fashioned key that fits on my keychain. Also then I can put a spare key in my wallet.
Yesterday, I went to the hardware store and had a key made for my new car. When I was tested the new key it wouldn’t start and a key icon came on on the dashboard. Referring to the owner’s manual, the key is required to have the electronics in the big old black box on the key.
When I tried to take the locksmith key out of the ignition, it wouldn’t push in to go over to the lock position to come out. So I can’t get it out.
I suppose I might have to have the vehicle towed to the dealer to get the locksmith key taken out.
And of course it’s a Friday, so I doubt I’ll be driving my new car until next week. Rereading it above doesn’t sound like I’m as as stupid as I feel
Yesterday I got the Suzuki signed over to me and it’s officially mine. I was planning on driving the van to work today and get my stuff out and have a mobile car wash come clean it, but this morning I want to drive the new one…
Obviously, I cannot drive it today, because the cats are already using it!.
Its Wednesday , didn’t post yesterday. I started to, but delayed, then had technical difficulties.
below is a roof shot from yesterday . It keeps almost raining but seldom does. (Unless I need to mow grass)
I should be picking up the new vehicle today. I thought I’d be cool, waiting, but I’m eager and excited. It’s making time move really slow this week… Wasn’t yesterday Thursday?
