I received my annual review from Goodreads. I’m sure I’ll finish at least one more book before the end of this year. But it’s a nice little summary which I enjoyed receiving.

I don’t really have a topic for today. My co-worker has the same first aid class I had a few weeks ago and I should have the place to myself. Maybe I can get caught up on the work piled up while I was on holiday in Panama.

My boss will be around , hopefully he doesn’t have other plans.

My mileage yesterday (km), tea pic sent to me by my yoga instructor in Panama, My planes winglet and a drawing of a cat, the book I’m reading now, some awards I got from Duolingo and InSight Timer, my receipt from Monkey Lodge and a big moth that I found in my room in Panama. I took him outside and he flew off!

Yesterday at work, I got pretty depressed. It was not really fun being back at work after such a wonderful vacation. My boss seems to think that work is my whole life, it definitely is not.

At least we have a lot of holidays coming up.

Today I start looking forward to the weekend!

Im waiting for my ride to the airport. I’m really sad to be leaving. Everyone took me under their wing and treated me so well. Hard to believe that tomorrow I’ll be back at work.

Today is my last full day. In Panama. I leave tomorrow at 3PM and will be leaving the Monkey Lodge about 11 or noon I guess. It’s been an absolutely fantastic visit. I hope to come back, but I also hope to explore more of Panama.

Yesterday I went to a big mall, Altaplaza Mall. I got a cell phone holder that I hope will work in my car and a couple Everlast T Shirts. My Uncle.owned Everlast and my dad was VP back in their boxing days.. My uncle sold it years ago before he died.

They’d be pleasantly surprised to see a whole Everlast Store I think!

Today there’s some sort of yoga event here. Ashtanga, meditation and an Ice Bath! Ice quick dip for me! I hope to have an afternoon beach walk on the Pacific Ocean. What luxury! Not too many people can pick their ocean on a whim!

The trip.to the Caribbean side of Panama was good. I made an interesting observation though.

As a rule, the Atlantic is to the east of the Americas, (North America, Central America and South America), and the Pacific to the west.

In Panama however the Atlantic (Caribbean) is to the north with the Pacific being to the South. So, this morning, we were headed to Colon, on the Caribbean (or Easterly, by common knowledge and instinct). But, oddly, the sun was behind us, because the sun is almost overhead at the Tropic of Capricorn this time of year. The human brain tells us that when the sun is behind us in the morning, we are heading west. West being towards the Pacific. The opposite direction that we were going. It was an odd thing for the brain to grasp. The sensation of going west, away from the sunrise, was a very odd sensation indeed! I knew we were heading east, but it wasn’t really East because it was North, and it wasn’t really North because the rising Sun was behind me!

Do ya see what I’m saying? Really bizarre.

The Caribbean was nice, there are huge trees on the beaches, which you will not find in the Cayman Islands. There’s many small beaches, isolated and remote. Very nice. I had lobster for lunch.

On another note, humor, day before yesterday, when we went to the lake, I was with the family from France. They spoke French. Yesterday, I was with a rather large group that was the flight crew from Air France who was on layover in Panama. They all were speaking French too. Also the owner of this hotel and his wife, plus the tour guide operator, are all from France and all prefer to speak French.

Does anybody in Panama speak Spanish?

At the top of the Panama Canal is Gamboa Lake. The ships go up the locks, cross the lake, and then go down the lock on the other side Yesterday I did a tour of Gamboa Lake.

Today, I’m going to the Caribbean side of Panama.

I know everyone’s thinking it, but nobody’s saying it… “You’re at The Monkey Lodge, where’s the monkeys?”

Well, here they are. There’s 5 total here, all rescues. I haven’t seen all 5 yet.

I never realized till now, monkeys don’t have thumbs on their hands, only on their feet!

Yesterday I visited the Miraflores Locks at the Panama Canal. There was only one small ship going through, in fact, it had passed by the time I got there. But I did see a lock fill, very rapidly and the whole thing was very very cool.

There was also.an Imax movie.

Today I’m checking out the lake at the top of the canal.
