Moonrise Moonset

Moonrise last night.

last night I went out to dinner at Tukka with some friends visiting from Virginia. I took the above picture of the full moon rising.

This morning, I took the above shot of the moon going down. Amazing, huh?

People always think it’s the sun in the day and the moon at night, actually the moon is up in the day half the month and up in the night the other half. Last night started the night moon half.

I am glad its Friday. Yardwork weekend and diving are my hopes for the weekend.

2022 Summer Solstice

Happy first day of summer! At 3:13AM Cayman time this morning, the sun reached its south to north apogee at the Tropic of Cancer and is now headed back down to the Tropic of Capricorn. Although it’s the first day of summer, it also means the days will start getting shorter (in the northern hemisphere). To me this always seemed kinda weird. Shouldn’t the longest day be in the middle of summer? But further north, things are just starting to warm up, so in a way, it makes sense. Plus, there is no “marker” in the middle of the seasons.

its a Tuesday, I feel like I’m running on about 3 quarters power. But things are good. Coffee cures all!

Dogs and Cats

Took a couple shots of Goldie and the dogs this morning. Usually Knip is right in there too. The cats don’t mind Daisy, unless she’s off the leash. Then they run. And Daisy chases. She likes to play too hard.

Morning Planets

The planets spread here covers almost from the horizon to overhead.

Half our planets are lined up in a neat row this morning and every recent morning. I find it amazing because it lets me visualize the solar system. My life and all its problems aren’t important, being able to accurately visualizing the orbital plane of our solar system is what really matters in ones life!

It seems very hot this morning. I can’t tell if it’s really hot or it’s because I’m wearing a non-cotton shirt work gave me. I’m a cotton only kind of guy.

Taking a few days off, visitors down from the USA. Halfa day off today. Life is good!

Planets In A Row

I saw this this morning.

This morning, I got up and went outside and saw the exact same thing as in the picture above.

it was very cool. Already, at 5 till 5 in the morning, the sky is starting to get pink.

Tomorrow and Monday are holidays here, so this is the start of a long long weekend.

I got a perfect score on my Duolingo this morning, to make up for yesterday.

Jamaica Apple Tree

I’m worried about my Jamaica Apple Tree, pictured above. It seems to be unhappy, lots of brown leaves and not many new ones Are there any botanical doctors out there in my zillions of readers?

wordless work week

Happy Monday to you all. Above is the sunset last night from the roof deck.

On the dawg walk this morning, Mars and Saturn were very close together. Maybe they’ll be closer tomorrow, but probably not . They’re making a triangle with Venus, very bright in the morning sky.

And it’s just another wordless work week after a weekend made up of mostly good parts.

use it or lose it Friday

I’m off today. Another use it or lose it Friday. (vacation I have to use by the end of the year or lose it)

I saw the eclipse last night (early this morning). It was pretty cool the Earth’s shadow covered the full moon almost completely.

Today I’m going to the eye doctor, I supposedly have cataracts in one eye and glaucoma in the other. We shall see.

Is other than that I have a day of beach, reading, shopping planned.

Is tomorrow is a shore dive and Sunday is a boat dive.

And that’s my weekend plan.

La Luna

I was out in Bodden Town last night and got these pictures of the full moon 🌙 soon after it rose. Quite a sight!

Finally, it is, again, FRIDAY! Yeay! I have no plans yet, but I’m ready to sleep late Saturday and Sunday. Late being 6 if I’m lucky.

Cloudy Day Supermoon

Today is our first cloudy day in a long, long time. I was actually planning on driving the van instead of the scooter today. Just to see if it still runs.

I didn’t sleep well last night. It was a nice big moon and I was up, looking at it and walking around and thinking about stuff.

The moon was huge when it came up last night, My mom said it was a supermoon. Later in the night, high in the sky, it didn’t look so big. (It wasn’t as cloudy last night)

Good News & Bad News

She’s gonna blow!

The bad news is that Betelgeuse is going to blow up. Possibly in our lifetime. This would be cool to see, but bad for Orion, the constellation.

The good news is that Betelgeuse is not going to explode anytime soon.

Twas a good weekend. We have a quarantiner staying in the apartment. Saturday the wife and I did some shopping and final touches getting the place ready. Our quaranteeny arrived late Saturday afternoon. After 24 hours, he says the apartment is marvelous.

Later this month, quarantine here in Cayman is going down from 14 days to 10 days. I’ll be glad when it goes down to zero (if you’re immunized).

Sunday, wifey went to a “Plant Swap” and I went diving and also got some sun.

Maybe there’ll be some underwater videos here tomorrow.

And I get my monthly co-void test this morning. Another Q-Tip up the nose…
