Good Morning Monday

Another Monday, Another post. Another good weekend.

It was largely a cleaning weekend. My quarantiner was able to move out after two days, (plus the 14 she completed previously.

I went snorkeling at East End

Had Indian food with the Friday night dinner club.

I went diving Saturday, and the pictures are still on my camera.

Sunday was more housecleaning and pizza.

Tortured Palm

Have a good week!

Happy Monday!

Twas a good weekend, productive and fun. Friday I got off work early, went to the beach then went home and I mowed the yard, I only got the front done because the grass was so deep and wet. (When I say grass I really mean weeds!) Then our dinner club went out to dinner Friday night and it was quite nice. Saturday I went diving and then had coffee with friends at Waffle Monkey. Good coffee! Then I came home and mowed the backyard, it was much easier and drier. Saturday afternoon my quarantiner moved out, free of covid. I have somebody else possibly going into quarantine here on the 13th of this month, which will be nice.

Sunday was another diving day, followed by a washing two dogs who needed it bad and seem to feel much better

And now it’s a back to work Monday and I actually don’t feel so bad about it.

I have a great week!.

La Palma Lava Reaches Sea

Nine days after it started erupting, lava from the La Palma volcano 🌋 reached the sea. Read the article HERE.

Now they’re in lockdown because of fears of toxic gasses. What toxic gases? The only thing would be steam. I think lock down is going too far. Governments solution for everything. It’s getting to the point where people need to use their common sense and knowledge instead of everything the government tells them.

Happy Wednesday! The weather man calls for increased chance of showers today. I hope so, but I’m not holding my breath. The weather is perfect.

I’ve swam the half mile every day this week at lunchtime, hopefully it will continue today.

Have a great day!!

5K Walk For Recovery

A

It was a nice weekend. Friday was “Eat Poorly” day. I had dinner at Burger King and paid for it later. I felt bad all night and most of the day Saturday.

Saturday morning I went scuba diving with some friends and still have the pictures to be sorted. That’s why there’s no underwater pictures here today. Sunday was a 5K walk/run. It was related to this month being recovery month in the Cayman Islands. Afterwards a group of us went out for coffee.

Sunday afternoon I was invited to a small party at Smiths Cove and I went to that and it was quite nice.

It was a good weekend, it seemed like a long weekend, and it was a good break before going back to work today.

Have a great week!

Another Picturesque Monday

It’s another Monday with another batch of weekend pictures. It was a nice weekend lengthened by the addition of 3 days vacation time. I went to an old beach near where I used to live and walked up to the old Homestead as near as I dared.

I lived in the center unit when hurricane Michelle put a wave through the whole place. It’s about 50 feet from the sea.

I went to the annual Recovery Month Festival at Pedro Saint James.

panorama view.
Pedro St. James’s Hurricane Ivan memorial.
And I took a picture of a tiny, tiny flower, half the size of a pencil eraser.

And now I’m headed back to work, and for some odd reason, I’m actually looking forward to it.

Have a wonderful Week!

Finally, a good one!

I woke up this morning feeling better than I felt in a long long time. Finally. I feel like I slept good for the 1st time in a long long time. Finally. Hope I can keep it up, at least for a while.

The last 2 nights have been Rosh Hashanah. Happy New Year 5782!

Yesterday all I gotta do is go to work no other plans or obligations. Except some grocery shopping, I gotta do some grocery shopping.

Goldie saying goodbye as I go to work.

Have a truly wonderful day!

Views I Saw

Here’s a couple of pictures, one I took yesterday at my beach lunch and the other from this mornings dawg walk.

“Loneliness.”

There used to be rock going across what looks like a channel in the pic above. It’s on this blog somewhere but I can’t find it now. I took this pic while I was sitting in the shade, reading my book.

I love this view.

Above is where I walk the dogs every day. The view isn’t special when I walking in that direction, but I always try to look back when I’m on the way back home, it seems much better then. I don’t know why.

16 Tuesdays ago, my wife left.

Have a good day!

Semi Productive

It was a semi productive weekend. I got a lot of little tasks done.

Sunday was nice, I went to breakfast with friends. Then I went to the beach.

YouTube is acting weird. The video keeps playing over and over and if you swipe down to get to the comments and settings, it goes to the next video. . YouTube must stupidly be trying to emulate TikTok. Also the embed link won’t work, so no video for you, my dear readers, today. Sorry!

In the afternoon, i went to my pizza on the beach and this is the last one for 6 weeks because the restaurant is closing for a break. Not the pizza restaurant, the beach restaurant.

My heart goes out to Louisiana who just got devastated by hurricane Ida. Right now it’s just getting light there and they are assessing the damage for the first time.

Aaaand it’s Monday. Have a gooda one as you can!

Smith Cove After Grace.

During lunch yesterday I stopped by Smith Cove. It was fairly devastated even after a clean up was started.

I also stopped by Dart Family Park. It had lost a lot of trees too but didn’t seem as bad as Smith Cove.

I remember hurricane Ivan seemed to actually improve Smith Cove. It washed sand up under all the big trees and cleared out the bush where people would throw litter and perves would hang out and leer. Smith Cove seemed like a much nicer and safer place after that. I don’t remember hurricane Ivan destroying so many trees, but there were no leaves left on anything. Hurricane Ivan’s signature was nothing green shall remain.

Today was my 2nd day of waking up at 4:55 instead of 4:20. I seem short on time this morning, obviously, it doesn’t seem to be unmanageable, so far. And it feels good to just sleep a little bit later. By the end of the week waking up at 4:20 I would consider going to the doctor to find out what was wrong with me. Not enough sleep!

Have a wonderful day!
