Monday Morning Blues After A Fantastic Weekend

Here we are, Monday morning. Again. I got the Monday Morning Blues.

Friday we went to Royal Palms beach bar. The wife wanted to dance. There’s a link to Royal Palms in my menu bar

Saturday we went shopping and got new suitcases for our Canada trip in less than three weeks. Then we had lunch at a place called Icoa. I had a Maine Lobster sandwich that was very good, and the staff was super nice. Then we went to a pool party and had a beef curry dinner at a friends house.

Sunday I mowed the yard, and my lawnmower ran good for a while, then quit. I just had it fixed. I was able to get it running by putting some duct tape on the throttle. It’s going back to the shop today. After I mowed the yard, I took sun on the  porch while the Wife went on a catamaran cruise. She didn’t get home till late and was mad because the staff made the people leave their shoes on the dock, and when they got back, one of her flip flops was missing.

This morning I was doing my exercises and we had a sudden, heavy downpour. I got soaked getting the stuff inside and closing the doors and windows. Now I’m drinking coffee and getting ready to go back to work.

All I gotta focus on is making it to the beach for lunch.

Have a good week!

Happy Birthday to me! Double nickles old.
My wife brought me to The Wyndam in East End. Used to be The Reef, (I guess it still is)
Room 106B, the best room. If you ever come here, ask for 106B. Note to self.

38 Years

Today a high school friend is coming to visit on a cruise ship.
Haven’t seen him since 1977. That’s 38 years! I have the day off and am taking them to Cemetery Beach.

That’s the plan, pictures to follow!

Thursday Thinkin’

It’s Thursday, Tomorrow is Friday. This week has been both slow and fast.

I don’t have anything to post today (seems like I never do anymore)

Went to bed at 9  last night, slept good. No dreams no nothing.  Alarm went off and I set the timer and slept another 30 minutes.  Now I’m running late this morning, but I’m not too worried about it.

Although the Operations Training this week is very interesting, and in some ways better than regular work, I do miss the beach lunch hours. Next week will be back to normal.

Have a great day!

Thankful Thursday

I went to the beach at lunchtime yesterday, but the water was kinda  rough, and I didn’t go snorkeling. Today would be a good day for some underwater pictures, but I don’t have any new ones. I don’t have anything to post about, either.

9 people killed in a church in Charleston.
60 million immigrants worldwide right now, people who have fled their homes and countries because of wars and conflicts.

I’m lucky and glad I live where I do. All my problems pale in comparison to what many have to deal with.

My lawnmower is broken.
Dog pooped on the porch.
Waves too big to get photos at my beach lunch.

I’ve got a full set of problems right now. Six months ago I had a full set of problems. Six months from now I’ll still probably have a full set of problems. On a good day, maybe I get rid of five old problems and only get three new ones, on a bad day, maybe I get five new and only get rid of three. But right now, I can’t remember what my full set of problems were six months ago, and six months from now, I probably won’t remember what my full set of problems is today.
The secret of life is not to wait til I get rid  of all my problems and finally have a perfect life, the secret of life is to be happy, even with my unresolved problems, because my “in box” will  never be empty.

This is something I know, but forget all too often.

Have a good day.

Tuesday/Monday Mower Post

It feels like Monday.
Yesterday, I started mowing the yard, then the lawnmower broke down. I spent a couple hours trying to fix it, but it wouldn’t start. There was a guy mowing next to next door. I asked him to finish up for me and he did. He wanted $25 and I gave him  $30. Yard mowed. Mission accomplished. Now I have to get the lawnmower fixed. I think something’s broke inside the engine. It was making a weird clanging sound before it died. The red rubber thing you use to prime the engine before starting is ripped. The idle is too low. I’m taking it to a lawnmower repair place, today I’ll stop by and see if I can drop it off tomorrow. To me, it’s still a new mower… less than two years old I think.
The weather is better, today I’m taking the scooter, first time in about three weeks! Yeay! In the car, I am a mere mortal like everyone else. On the scooter, I am immune to traffic! Plus the scooter is better parking for my beach  lunch!

Have a good day!

Happy Hump Day!

Almost over the hump. Hoping for good weather this weekend.
I went to the beach yesterday at lunch, but did not swim. Today I will probably swim. There were a lot of people  at the cloudy beach, Tryin’ ta act happy in the cloudy cold weather. They were doing a good job too, you know, acting happy. So I’ll probably join them today. I’m trying to be funny here, you know, overly dramatic? But I am definitely tired of the clouds.

And I definitely will join the sad sad tourists at the beach today.

Havva Guudun!
