It was a very good weekend, had fun, time didn’t go too fast. Friday I went and saw the new Mad Max movie. Saturday beach, Sunday snorkeling. . Here’s a few pics of some squid.

An Alternate Path?
It was a really good weekend. We had a friend of a friend visit, I went diving. And we went to the weigh-in of a fishing contest. While at the marina where the weigh-in was, I saw the sailboat above. The wife and I talked to the owners for about a half hour. Man O man, when I run into cool people like them, I feel like I could have taken an alternate path in this existence and been happy too. While I love my life here, I sure would love to be on a sailboat, sailing around the world. They had great stories to tell in just the short time we talked. Hightailing it out of Colombia, after running into problems with the government, then hitting rough seas and considering turning back. Through the Panama Canal. We didn’t even scratch the surface, hearing the stories.
I could live that life.
Now it’s back to work, beach lunch and maybe a barbecue tonight.
Life is good, it’s too short, but life is good!

It’s Monday after a good weekend.
I went to the beach and laid on my sundeck. The only productive thing I did all weekend was plant some bougainvilleas. Thank you spell checker.
Work should be busy this week. I’m going to try to not get emotionally involved.

I’m Back!
Spotted Eagle Ray, Christmas Gift from The Wife
I’m headed back to work this morning after a nice break.
Today is a regular workday, tomorrow, half day I believe. Thursday, Holiday and Friday is FRIDAY!
Not much to report, Christmas was good. I can’t really account for my time, I went to the beach a couple of times, took a lot of naps. I didn’t accomplish anything, didn’t study, didn’t mow.
It was hard to wake up this morning, still dark, without the alarm, I’ve been sleeping till it got light.
Oh yeah, I have a toothache, a bad one. Top right, next to the back. Made an emergency trip to the dentist yesterday, got x-rays, a visual inspection, and was told they don’t see anything wrong. What do I do now? Another dentist? It hurts all the way up to my eye, nothing can touch it. Can’t sleep. Either wait for it to go away or go to another dentist..

Busy, Productive Weekend
It was a good weekend.
Saturday morning I went to the beach. Then at noon I went to town and rented a big jackhammer. Then Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning I dug 3 big holes in the yard and planted 3 trees, an avocado, a breadfruit tree, and a Desert Rose. The desert rose is more like a bush than a tree. Then that evening was the Wife’s works Christmas party, we played Miniature golf and then went and had a dinner. 17 years on the island, and that was the first time I had ever been to the mini golf course. It was fun!
Yesterday afternoon I went to the cigar bar with a friend and smoked two big fat cigars and watched American Football. For once I was not disappointed in the football.
One thing that didn’t get done this weekend was that I need to re-caulk the bathtub, and I meant to clean my “desk” and fold and put away the clothes I have piled up on top of Sheba’s kennel. That’s one thing I didn’t get done.
Well, the whole weekend fits into a couple of short paragraphs.

I really don’t feel like going to work this morning. It’s not Monday, but it feels like it. A bad Monday!
It was a good weekend though.

I had a dream that I won a boat. Actually, four people won a boat to share. We traveled far to get the boat. It was in the woods. When we got there, there was only room for three of us, so I had to go back by myself. When I said I wanted to go in the boat, everybody laughed at me.

Experiment Fail / Sorting Pictures
Yesterday, when I posted my post, my tablet had 11% power. When I got done, it was 6%, when I got to work, it was dead. Both my power packs were dead so I had no choice, I plugged it in. However, the data collection will continue. This morning looks like a typical, perfect Caribbean morning, fresh wind, mostly blue skies with some fluffy white clouds, and the sun, just peeking over the treetops.
Yesterday, a friend posted an old postcard of the Holiday Inn Grand Cayman.
Now I’m going through old pictures to see if I have good ones. I used to copy all my pictures to DVD once a year, now I keep them all on a portable hard drive. I am currently copying the pics from the DVDs to the hard drive, then I have to sort them. Not a small task.
This afternoon after work, I have a job interview.

Change of Plan (Hopefully)
See that gray cone on this picture? That’s a tropical depression, 9 I think. Yesterday the cone showed the storm coming straight at us, now it’s cruising more over land, which weakens it, which is good.
Yesterday was not as rainy as I expected which is good, tomorrow is Friday, which is also good, so things are looking pretty good! I vowed to swim at lunch rain or shine anyway….

Found The Wreck

Yesterday I loaded up the kayak and went looking for the wreck I saw from the air. At first I didn’t think I’d find it, but after I got out to the wrong buoys, I saw the right one. It was a big wrecked sailboat.
After that I paddled out to the inside of the reef, very close to the wrecks at Wreck of The Ten Sail, the site where a sailing fleet wrecked a couple hundred years ago. The wreck you see here is NOT from those sailing ships.
It was a great day!
Today is the last day of my vacation, tomorrow it’s back to work. 🙁
