Four Tuesdays ago, she moved out. Four Wednesdays ago, I woke up alone in the house for the first time.. Four weeks is a month, sometimes.

My Current Book
The Joy of Less, A Minimalist Living Guide: How to Declutter, Organize, and Simplify Your Life.
It’s not a bad book, kinda dry, lots of repetition. I’m about a little over half way done. There’s lots of useful information. I’m incorporating a lot of it, one area at a time.
Just for the fun of it, ask a random person if they have an old, dead printer or computer monitor hanging around their house. They probably do, I do and thought everybody did.
I’m not throwing away anything that belongs to the wife, except old medicines and perishables perishables. But I’m majorly cleaning.
The book reminds me of when I was packing to move here from the USA. I was clearing my house and I would throw a precious artifact in the garbage and feel incredible pain. Hand with item hovering over the can. But as soon as the object left my hands and fell into the trash can, the pain disappeared. Then I would be throwing another artifact away and look into the trash can and see the old artifact and the payment return. The secret is don’t look, you won’t hurt.
So this is a good exercise. Lots of old good stuff going to the humane society, partly because having a yard sale is too much hassle.
Have a happy hump day!
New Fridge
Fridge Died Phone Died Internet Down
Last Friday our fridge quit working. Got it fixed Saturday. Tuesday night, it died again. Repairman said it’s dead this time.
Yesterday my new-ish phone the LG G4 died. I was looking at Google news, when the phone crashed and got stuck on the reboot screen. I moved back to my old Samsung S III.
I’m on the back porch, contemplating taking a sick day so I can get a new refrigerator.
Also, the internet has been off and on for days. I planned on posting from work yesterday, but the internet was down till lunch.
What a week!
Animals Around The House
All these pictures are less than a week old.
And that’s about it! Have a GREAT weekend!
Happy Friday!
It’s Friday, I am ready for the weekend.
My Wife bought a pot hanger she wants me to install in the kitchen.
The problem is that the space is drywall and the studs don’t line up how I’d like, so I have to figure out what to do about that…. A trip to the hardware store is in order.
Other than that, looks like gooe weather for a beachy weekend!
Monday Photo Post
Twas an ok weekend. I left the house only to get breakfast fixins on Saturday morning. The Wife had to work Sunday. I took sun on the sun deck and watched every NFL team I hoped would win, lose. I abhor all the remainibg teams, except Carolina.
Have a great week!
Monday O Monday
Monday, When the alarm went off, I was having a dream that this girl was riding a weighted sled down to a submerged car to get something out through the open sunroof. I can’t remember now what she was getting, but I know I knew in my dream. The water was surprisingly cold and murky. She was wearing a red thick wetsuit, and as she headed down, I realized I couldn’t descend fast enough, and I couldn’t hold my breath long enough. I thought the car was very shallow, since we weren’t using tanks.
Speaking of diving, I went diving this weekend, and snorkeling. First we went to look for an old airplane in the North Sound, we found it very easily. It was a PBY Catalina, but the engines and propellers were gone. All three wheels were there and sheets of metal. It was a junkyard.
I have unimpressive pics on my camera, which is in my car. I’ll post some tomorrow. After that, we did a dive at a site called Bears Paw, it was a good dive, nice coral, but nothing spectacular.
Sunday the wife and I drained, cleaned and refilled our hot tub, and had a quiet day at home.
Now it’s Monday, and I’m headed in to work.
Have a great week!
I Now Believe Global Warming Is Real
When we were at (and on) the Athabasca Glacier, there were photos that showed the glacier receding over the years. My brother in law in Drake Bay, Costa Rica, last night was telling my wife about his colleague/associate/acquaintance has been measuring the decline in the numbers of frogs and snakes in the rainforests. When I got certified to scuba dive in 1981, we’d see sharks on practically every other dive, often groups of sharks. Now, seeing a shark is rare, one in ten or more dives.
Glacial decline has been measured since the 1850’s, (according to an article on Wikipedia), so I’m not sure it’s all humans fault, but I think humans main power is destructive and we need to change. I remember a book I read years ago, “Mutant Message Down Under”, and ask, Which society is more advanced? One that lives in a place 10,000 years, and you can’t even tell they were ever there? Or a society that practically destroys it’s environment with pollution and war in 250 years?
I think the answer is obvious.
Today is my first day back at work since my vacation. blah. Why do I have to go work to get money to buy a fish for dinner when I could just go out and get the fish myself. Because I also have to pay for my house and the bills. The whole system of money has something inherently wrong with it.
Did I Mention Our New Hot Tub?
Couple weeks ago, we got a new hot tub. The wife had been wanting one, but I really wasn’t a fan.
I gotta say, it’s growing on me.
First we were gonna keep it cool, because, who needs a hot tub in the tropics, right? Then we decided to try the heat. It’s nice, because the water is hot when you get get in, but you get used to it really fast, then when you get out, it seems nice and cool.
Plus a little hot tub action before bed, followed by a cool shower, really helps you (me) sleep!
Weekend’s over, no more holidays till November. Back to work, ugh!
Havva goodun!
