Hurricane Idalia is headed towards Florida..The water in the Gulf Of Mexico is supposedly 100⁰F. Hurricane food. All the rain we had the past week or so has been from Tropical Storm Idalia hanging out to our west. Now she’s moving on, gathering strength and speed.
We had a “red sky at morning, sailor take warning” this morning, and it’s windier than it’s been all week, but we should be drying out soon.

We had a lot of rain this weekend. Steady rain for hours and, very rare around these parts. I enjoyed it. People complained a lot, but I pointed out how rare this type of rain was, and they agreed.
Had some people over Saturday night, cooked on my new grill for the first time, (It’s probably been here 6 months, unused till this weekend)
Sunday I went to a party, Welcome back, summer is over, get them kids back to school party. A 10 month old baby girl had a crush on me.
And now it’s a sunny Monday back to work day.

It was a very nice weekend. Friday, quiet at home, Saturday, Street Food Fest, which was very nice, better than previous years. Sunday morning was rainy, and I had breakfast with Miriam, one of my favorite people on earth.

It was sunny in the early afternoon and I got a lot of pressure washing done before it started majorly thunderstorming. It’s quite busy out there…

Im shocked sad this morning. A friend I haven’t seen in years committed suicide yesterday. The worst are the ones who never say anything, they just do it. The worst thing is that, I’ve read from survivors, those whose attempts were unsuccessful,, is that you always change your mind after it’s too late. That’s always the last thought. So I’ve read.
And the families and friends do not deserve it.
Here comes Bret. Supposed to fizzle out before getting here (iffee gets here at all) but I’m getting ready, pruning trees. I majorly trimmed the Otaheite Apple tree yesterday, i don’t want it to come down. Below is an after and before shot. And I put the tripod on.
I would have trimmed her thinner, but she’s full of fruit. I tried to not cut any branches with fruit, but accidentally cut one with 3 pale white Otaheite apples on it. I put them near the trunk as fertilizer.
But listen, i didn’t schedule any time this season for hurricanes., So let’s just skip it this year and move on. Ok? OK!
AND: FYI, the summer solstice is at 10:57 AM our time. The sun reaches its northernmost point, over the tropic of Cancer for a brief second. After that moment, the sun starts heading back south to the tropic of Capricorn.

i.made a video of my morning exercise routine, but not sure if I’m going to post it or re-do it. It’s ok, but in parts my head is off the screen when I stand up.

Im about a quarter of the way through this book, Circe. I’m really enjoying it I don’t know what is different that makes the writing so special. In a nutshell, the book is about Greek Mythology.
Circe becomes a sorceress after she is rejected too many times. She leans how to change people into other forms. Because of this, she gets banished to an island. This island is referenced in the book Homers Odyssey, which has been on my reading list forever.
This book is good, highly recommended and very interesting.
Yesterday we had tons of rain. Now something is wet in my cars ignition and it’s giving me problems.

Finally, after (probably) signing up more than a year ago, I’m getting fiber optic cable to the house.
I’m meeting someone today to run the fiber optic cable from the street into the house. My speed should go from 14 mbs to 80 mbs, which is the plan i chose.

Itsa Wednesday, I feel a calm, which isn’t bad, but the same calmness seems to be preventing me from coming up with a topic for today. It’s like I’m too lazy to stir the thought pot and nothing visible from here seems interesting. Maybe it’s simply NOT ENOUGH COFFEE YET! Maybe it’s Zen.
I haven’t been able to swim at lunchtime for the past two days. Monday the waves were hitting the wall and blasting 15 feet in the air. Yesterday was greatly impoved but still large swells not swimmable. Today should be the day!
There have been high clouds the past few days, and last night was cool and breezy. (Another nice night with no AC needed)
Everything looks clear on the horizon. No news is good news, don’t look a gift horse in the mouth, all’s well that ends well, etcetera etcetera amen.

This morning it rained again, Good rain, better than yesterday, 30 minutes or an hour. The plants definitely needed it and enjoyed it. I’m grateful for the rain.
