Weekly Weekend Report

It was an  all right weekend.
Friday, quiet evening at home. Saturday, The Wife had a Girls brunch, I went to the beach. In the evening we went to some friends house and hung out. Sunday,  mowed the front yard only. And didn’t do much else. It was a high cloud day yesterday, plenty of heat, but not much sun, for a while, then there were intermittent high clouds and low clouds all day. It’s that time of year, rain almost every day, hurricanes and storms lined up in the Atlantic.

I need to start taking more pictures. I don’t take them so I don’t have them to post.

Now it’s back to work, the past two weeks have been fast and I hope this week is too.

And that’s about all for my weekly weekend report!

Have a great week!

Feels Like Tuesday,

But it’s THURSDAY!

While I was on vacation, there was a fire in my building. An air conditioner. My office wasn’t damaged, but since there’s no power, I had to move to another office in a different building until it gets cleaned up. The whole building is covered in soot. Glad my door was closed.

Last night I made meatloaf for dinner. My wife said it was my best yet. 2 lbs of 97% lean hamburger, about half a cuppa Panko breadcrumb things, 2 eggs, a flat handful of dried onions and a generous squirt of hot sauce. And salt n pepper. Knead it all into a ball, plop it in yer oven pan, make a pretty design on top with ketchup, and bake for an hour at 375.

I got pretty angry this morning, thinking about work, but I think I’ve calmed down now.

“Bring the weekend”, he said, after only one day back at work from vacation.

Home From Canada

We’re home from Canada. Got back yesterday afternoon. Glad to be home, sad to have left Canada. It was good, we were there for their two weeks of summer. It will be freezing in a couple of weeks, I was told.

I definitely miss my brother in law and sister in law though. They are the coolest couple.

Travlin Tim took a fall on vacation, and  has been glued back together…. again, but he’s missing the tip of his hat. Somehow he came out of his seatbelt after our helicopter ride.

I’m back to work Wednesday, not looking forward to that.

Slept 11 hours last night, I needed it, apparently.

Final Friday!

Today is my last workday before Vacation!

Usually on Fridays, I like to tie up loose ends, but today it looks like I have a pretty busy day lined up.

This might be my last post until Canada. I have a feeling it won’t be, but it might.

I can’t wait to get to Canmore!

Have a great day and fantastic weekend!

My BDay Gift To Myself

For my birthday last week, I bought myself a fountain pen. I think they’re cool and increasingly uncommon.

It sucks, my writing looks terrible using this pen.

I think I’ll give it to my wife….

I wasn’t ready for this week, after my vacation weekend. Yesterday was tough, today I don’t wanna go to work. Waaa Waaaa.

Monday, Week 2

Today starts week 2 of training. It’s about SMS, Safety Management Systems.

It was a good weekend, for me. Unfortunately The Wife had to work all weekend, There’s a conference here by one of the manufacturers. Saturday I stayed home, Sunday I was a model for fishing clothes. Then I went to a going away pool party for some friends.

And that’s it.

Thursday Thinkin’

It’s Thursday, Tomorrow is Friday. This week has been both slow and fast.

I don’t have anything to post today (seems like I never do anymore)

Went to bed at 9  last night, slept good. No dreams no nothing.  Alarm went off and I set the timer and slept another 30 minutes.  Now I’m running late this morning, but I’m not too worried about it.

Although the Operations Training this week is very interesting, and in some ways better than regular work, I do miss the beach lunch hours. Next week will be back to normal.

Have a great day!

Training At Work

This week, I am in training for work, all week. Yesterday, day #1,  was interesting.

Ditto seems much better today. He came begging fora treat when I was taking my blood pressure medicine/vitamins this morning. I gave him a cod liver oil pill.

It rained this morning for about 5 minutes, but now it seems clear. I’d rather go to the beach today than work. This is a perfect Caribbean morning.

I feel kind of scatterbrained this morning. I find it interesting how I feel different day to day. I had a dream last night that my boss and I were wrapping teacups in paper.

That’s all for today, take care!

Since My Last Post

My Last post was Thursday morning, in Miami. Thursday after school, I went looking for a denim skirt size 6 for The Wife. I was keeping an eye out all week, but Thursday I looked all over and  finally found one at Nordstroms for $211.

Got back to the room late, and started packing. It was after 1AM when I went to bed.

I got up Friday morning, finished packing and checked out of the hotel and went to school. I was hoping we’d get out early the last day of class, but no, we stayed late. The instructor printed the certificates. He was handing them out when the guy right before me said his name was spelled wrong. So. everyone (but me) had their certificates, and I had to wait till he re-printed one. It took him an hour to print one sheet. I’ve never seen anyone with an Apple computer do anything easily and without problems. Lately all the Apples I’ve seen have been running Windows.  What’s up with that? You’d never see Windows machine running Apple.  Windows doesn’t need it. And you know  that I don’t even like Windows. Also my phone rang in school, and I couldn’t answer it because I was in school. They left a voice message. I never retrieve voice messages on the road, as our phone company, LIME, is the most incredible ripoffs on the planet. I don’t even know how to get messages when roaming.

So, finally we got our good byes said and I  was on the road. My flight was 9:25 PM and I figured I could head to the beach for an hour and then head to the airport, stopping at a cigar store that was very close to the airport on the way.

I left the beach with plenty of time to spare, traffic was atrocious, 5:30 PM on a Friday afternoon, the worst of the rush hours.. The GPS wanted to put me on a toll road. I didn’t go on the tool road. I got lost and was at the southern  end of I-95. I canceled the cigar stop and programmed the GPS for the  airport. The GPS wanted me to go on the toll road. At this point I didn’t care any more, so  I went. Got to the airport (I never had to pay a toll) and checked in the car. Went to the ticket counter and was informed my 9:25 was delayed till 1 AM.

Trapped at the airport, no cigars. I could have spent the whole day differently. I could have stayed at the beach until rush hour was over, gone to the cigar store and done some more shopping. It could have been a wonderful day, had I known about the flight being delayed. If I knew in advance the flight was delayed, I would have been glad.

Got home about 3AM. Went to bed. Got up Saturday morning and checked my voice mail, and the call I missed in school was Cayman Airways, telling me about the delay.

After that, it was a good weekend. Yesterday was a holiday, Discovery Day. And now I’m heading into work this morning.

Overall, it was a great trip, I think it’s the first time I ever spent time in Miami, really. Usually I’m just in transit. I spent a week in Ft Lauderdale once in the early 90’s..

Have a good  week!

In Miami

I’m in Miami, headed to school in about an hour.

Flying yesterday, there was a yellow haze almost the whole way. It didn’t look like Earth. Earth, The Yellow Planet.

And the top picture was my view until I got sprinkled by the sprinkler system.
