3AM

Seems like every morning I wake up at 3AM, no matter what time I go to sleep. I wonder if it’s left over from when I got up to study.
I’m in bed now, typing this on my phone.
Today I have a split shift again. I’m recording a public meeting tonight for future broadcast.
The weather here has been cold and windy and cloudy-ish, too much for the beach. Maybe today will be better!

BAWLING

Today I am BAWLING

Back
At
Work
Like
I was
Never
Gone.

It was an OK weekend, as far as weekends go, but it was very dissatisfying, and I feel cheated out of the trip we looked forward to for so long.

Last night I had a dream I saw a seagoing green turtle flip flopping across a US superhighway.

Not much fun

The OI Girl and I spent Friday afternoon at the airport, being bullshitted two hours at a time. Then the trip to Costa Rica was canceled. Problems with the plane. Also the Panama trip was canceled. Two planeloads of people, all at the airport together.
I was very disappointed to say the least. The OI Girl is too, but she was the one cheering me up.
Her family had the whole time planned for when we were there, and from what I understand, are devastated.

Who knows when we’ll get another chance to go.

Funny thing, a guy at the dive shop was telling me they had a woman in the shop who was irate because they couldn’t get a ticket because they were told the plane was out of commission. I told the guy we already had tickets, and we kinda thought the lady was mistaken, or talking about some other trip.
I guess not…..
At the airport, someone else said they heard rumors of plane problems the day before I did.

Funny thing is, if I had known a day earlier, I could have gotten another flight. It seems that the charter company knew and kept their mouth shut. The charter company is blaming the airline, (Atlantic Air, out of Honduras.)

So we had an OK weekend, we went to the beach Saturday and diving today. We’re both still off tomorrow.
Then it’s back to work, Forever.

Just My Luck

I can’t beleive it, yesterday at work, I fell up the stairs. I was walking up these three little steps and apparently I didn’t get enough foot on one. It would have been no big deal, except as my foot bent backwards, my heel came out of my shoe and it ripped the sole out of the inside and I ended up barefoot and in a lot of pain as my big toe got bent way backwards. I went to the doctors and it’s apparently not broken, but now I’ll be limping all over Costa Rica.

Frikkin' Freekin!

Yesterday the OI Girl called my up and left me a message, clearly upset, saying she had bad news. I’m thinking “Oh great, Costa Rica trip canceled” or “Someone died”. I’m thinking disaster.
So I called her back and she had dropped her cell phone and broken the glass. I started laughing, I was so relieved. I told her not to worry, we’ll get it fixed or get an new one.

Whew! I was frikkin freekin!

Two days and a wake-up till Costa Rica!

Four days and a wake up

Friday the OI Girl and I go to Costa Rica for the weekend. We are both very excited, already I’m afraid it will be too short of a trip.
The OI Girl has informed me that I should be ready for some grilling from her family, like asking my intentions and when we’re getting married.
My first marriage was a disaster and I feel I can never be sure enough to do it again, although I couldn’t imagine not being with the OI Girl.

The Big But

I used to smoke cigarettes, a lot. When I quit, many years ago (15 years or more ago), it was the hardest thing I ever did. About two years ago, I smoked a Cuban cigar. A couple. Now I’m smoking cigars almost every weekend. Now I wonder if I’m addicted again.
I like smoking cigars on the beach, it’s a great place to smoke them.
BUT! Just the fact that I like it might mean that it’s bad.

Dullard

I knew Halloween was coming, but I missed it. Even when the OI Girl brought home candy and asked about trick-or-treaters it did not dawn on me that it was last night. I realized this morning that Halloween was last night. We didn’t get any trick or treaters.

You missed my annual Halloween jokes. Oh well, you’ll just have to wait till next year. (Or look at my blog entry for Oct 31 last year or the year before)
