Kirk Douglas Turns 100

December 9th, that’s today, Actor Kirk Douglas turns 100. I really liked the movie, Last Vegas.

I remember as a kid, I was scared of him. I absolutely hated his chin, to me it looked like he got stabbed with a pencil, and it was horrifying to me.

100 years old and he turned out Ok!

Happy Birthday Kirk Douglas!

It’s Friday!

Pearl Harbor VS 9-11

Kids born Dec 7th 1941 were 19 when I was born. I think about Pearl Harbor but don’t remember it. Kids born Sep 11th 2001 are 15 now. They probably think about 9-11 in a similar way that I think of Pearl Harbor. Being aware of this makes me think  of Pearl Harbor differently.

My grandfather was born in 1895. He possibly knew people born in the 1700’s He definitey knew people who knew people born in the 1700’s.

Life is short, but at the same time, history really didn’t happen that long ago.

All Show & No Go?

After my post yesterday, I was so busy at work that I hardly was online at all all day. We have training this whole week and half the next for a new system that was installed. So I probably won’t be online much during that time. Seems like I picked the wrong day for my Gung Ho! post.

Woke up 15 minutes early  this morning, (4:45) and did my normal walk, and actually got to swim this morning. The north has been rough and the ladder has been out at the dock, so I haven’t been swimming in the mornings, but this morninng, the hotel staff wasn’t there yet so I swam in the pool. Although I’m sure it’s OK, I don’t like swimming in the pool with the staff there.

After the dust settles, I’ll post a post about the job I applied for, got, and probably won’t take.

Have a great day!!

Different Turn

I love this blog. Every morning before work, I post. But I’veb een seriously boring, I think. All I talk about pretty much, is the weather and other boring crap.

I remember the days when I spent a lot more time on this blog, scouring other blogs, leavig comments, and trying to get comments on this blog.

All of my blogger friends are very old friends, and I haven’t made any new friends in quite a while.

I am going to spend less time on Facebook, and more time on this blog.

That being said, I mowed the yard this weekend, I think the last time I mowed the yard, we still had the boat (we’ve been using landscapers. And it was a crappy football weekend. Redskins lost.

You’ll be seeing and hearing more from me.

Have a great week!

Perspective

It’s Friday finally. This week went quick. That’s nice for a change. Usually, the workweek lasts about a million years, and the weekend is a few nanoseconds. Although week before last a co-worker took vacation, and while the week seemed very long, my co-worker came back this week, and it didn’t seem like  he was gone very long at all. Explain that to me.

Today Cayman Airways is christening a new plane, I can get off work early to attend the ceremony. Sounds like a plan!

Have a good weekend!
