Today’s Post Tomorrow

It was a good weekend, yesterday, (Monday) was a holiday here. Sunday morning, the wife, our friend Emma and I went for a 90 minute snorkel. My plan for today’s post was to upload a video of aforementioned snorkel. However, according to calculations made by YouTube, my 5 minute video will take approximately 60 minutes to upload. In 60 minutes, I’ll be at work and today’s post will be posted, video or not.

It was a rainy weekend, it started Sunday after we got back home and rained pretty good through yesterday. It’s still cloudy and more rain is expected today.

Hopefully tomorrow my video will be posted, that is if YouTube doesn’t explode from me switching networks mid upload.

Have a good week!

Photo Friday

Not much today, just a few pictures from the week.

Elephant Ears on our porch, I find the pattern and colors in the leaves to be amazing.

Above is the shadow of a single electrical line. The light source is a LED street light, and the multiple lines are caused by the multiple LEDs

This mornings sunrise sunburst. I saw Venus, low on the horizion, when I first got up, but couldn’t find it again when I was walking

I made this out of three clothespins. Engineering marvel.

Have a good weekend! Monday is a holiday loday here. Yeay!

Neglected Home Maintenance

Home maintenance is very important. Whether you rent or own, home maintenance can save you time and money. Most people do the big stuff, weekly oiling of the toilet seat hinges, monthly sharpening the blades on the carbage disposal. But when’s the last time you tested the fridge light? I mean, you know it is on when you open the door, you’d notice if it wasn’t, but how do you really know it goes off when you close it? An always-on ridge light can probably cost you fifty cents to a dollar annually in unnecessary electrical bill costs, so it’s important to test it regularly. Below is our test, which you can easily do at home too.

Of course, if you’re like me, you’ll still wonder if it goes off when you’re not testing it. But unlike me, you don’t have to lose sleep over it, all you can do is test it regularly, say once a week or hourly, and rest assured that you’re doing all you can to avoid those pesky high electricity costs.

Last night the wife and I actually went out to a restaurant. It was great! We were the only ones there, seated outside, but there were a lot of people coming and picking up food to go. Outdoor seating is all that’s allowed so far in our recovery from this covid 19 thingamajig. It was very nice to go out.

Have a great day, Remember that critical home maintenance!

Wetfoot Conspiracy Plus

The Dogs go for their walk, The dogs pee on the road. They just stand there as pee flows under their feet. The dogs get tangled in their leashes. I lift their paw to get the leash out from under. I get a wet hand.

It’s a plot, a conspiracy to make my hands wet from dog pee.

Yesterday I got stuck in a loop. I’m still reading Don Quixote. (Donkey Hoetee). It’s terrible. Yesterday, I continued my read. (I’m at the part where Don sends Sanchez to give the letter to his lady, but Sanchez instead brings the priest and barber.) I passed out from reading it. I woke up an hour later, and started reading again. They met the real pretty girl dressed as a boy. I passed out again, from boredom. Woke up another hour later. If I had started reading again, I probably would have passed out again. It occurred to me that I could consume my whole life, read, pass out, read, pass out.

It’s a plot, a conspiracy to make me sleep all afternoon. It was hard falling asleep last night because I was so well rested from reading Donkey Hoetee. Also designed to torture high school students, and those forced into reading this book.

Actually Don Quixote is not that bad of a story, it’s just that the sentences are extremely long. I found a sentence that was a full page and a half long on my Kindle. Frequently, while reading this book, I get half way through a sentence and think “What? Who’s this talking? What are they talking about?” and have to go back.

Happy Wednesday. Another perfect day.

About Yesterday

Yesterday’s post, after a re-read and comment, didn’t sound like I intended it to sound. And it didn’t say what I meant. I’m not looking for girlfriend or anything, I love my wife. I’m just going to have to start doing what I want to do without her. She’s been telling me this for years. And I’ve been complaining to her about TV for a long time too.

This morning is a perfect morning. Perfect tempurature, perfect sky, perfect everything.

Have a great day!

Solo Operations

It seems like it was a very long weekend, which is a good thing. It seems like a long time since I was at work. I’m actually looking forward to going.

Sunday the covid beach restrictions here ended. I got up early and got ready to go to the beach. The wife woke up and didn’t want to go to the beach, she said it would be too crowded. So we stayed home. I figure I only have 20 years left to live, and every wasted day is painful for me. I was in a depression Sunday.

I guess I’ll just have to start going to the beach alone.

Unpleasant Weather

The weather has been weird these last couple of days. The breeze has been like a bowling ball rolling around in the back of a pickup truck, various directions and speeds, and it feels like it bumps into you. And lots o things going “bump!” outside. It’s not cool or refreshing, it’s good for nothing wind. A sudden gust through the open window blows the sheets across the bed

The rain, when it rains, is like somebody on the roof with a garden hose. They sweep one sweep of water over you and that’ll be it. I guess we’re getting weird weather from Cristobal, but it’s petty far away.

On the plus side, it’s Friday, and the Sunday lockdown is over this weekend. We can go to the beach, irregardless of the first letter of our last names!

And

The BANANAS ARE GONE! Thank Gawd. I had four and the wife knocked off the rest. They were good, but too much darling.

Have a good weekend!

Last Day For Bananas

Yesterday I ate a half a dozen bananas, if I have half a dozen today, and he wife has just a couple, they’ll be gone. If we don’t, they’ll probably be overripe tomorrow.

All that’s left

My desire to eat bananas today is zero. Homegrown bananas are not a good source o food. There’s nothing for months then more than you can eat with danger of excessive waste. Eating bananas from a tree in your yard is something everyone should experience, as well as coconuts from a tree that you planted the seed for.

Last night, the wind blew our bedroom door closed. The only one not in the bedroom was Ashy Thee Cat. She was not happy about it. When I opened the bedroom door this morning, she had plenty to say, and I received quite the stern reprimand.

Yesterday, if you checked the Weatherbug link in my post, we had 70% chance of rain. It was sunny, except one passing shower, like one sweep of the garden hose. We’ll see what’s in store for today.

Havva Goodun!

Goliath

My wife and I have been watching a show called Goliath, about a lawyer in Los Angeles. Pretty much so far, one season is one of his cases. (Funny how TV lawyers only have one case at at time!) Season 1 was quite good, season 2 was kind of unpredictable and probably could have been better. Season 3, which we just started, seems to be plain ol’ weird, not necessarily in a bad way. Goliath is worth watching, I say. At least the first season or two.

Might rain today, according to Weatherbug, but it looks pretty nice right now. A little rain couldn’t hurt though.

Have a good day!

Too Many Bananas

We gave away at least half the bananas from our harvest. But now we have too many ripening. I’m eating a lot of bananas. They’re super good too, sweeter than grocery store bananas. I wish I could give you some.

Lately, I’ve been getting comments in my spam guard with only one word. For example, today I had a comment or appoval, “Kansas”. At first, I’d just delete them, but these last few days, I’ve been marking them as spam.

Today, I’m taking a thermos of coffee with me to work. Cafe Americano. I made a full pot of espresso and heated water and poured it in my thermos. It has to be better than the instant I’ve been choking down at work since this covid thing started. We’ll see how it goes.

Have a good day!
