Dart Family Park

It was another good weekend. Saturday I met some friends at an often driven passed but seldom stopped at park. Pictures and video above.

Also I was productive replacing my thermostat in the house and an automatic ground fault indicator for the back porch outlets. For some reason, this one fails about once a year.

Also I went out for my birthday lunch Sunday with the wife. It was good to see her.

And, yesterday was my grandfathers birthday, born July 18th, 1895. Happy birthday Granpa!

Random Fridayness

Two Spotted Eagle Rays inside the house

Itsa FRIDAY! It rained last night and it’s lighting-ey this morning.

Above in the picture are two spotted eagle rays. I had one, and had the other and decided to take a picture of them both.

Last night I considered going to Movie Night, but went outside and it was raining. Later, I checcked the Westin webcam and movie night looked like I was missing a good one. But a few minutes after I took this screenshot, I looked again and there were water droplets all over the camera. So it did rain at movie night after the below picture was taken. I don’t even know what the movie was anyway. Someone else told me that Tom Felton, the actor who played Draco Malfoy was there.

And it’s Friday, The only thing planned for the weekend are more house repairs (electrical) and lunch with the wife.

A “Read Again”

I finished the book Great Circle and I want to immediately start reading it again. All the pieces came together in the end. Other reviews said they thought the beginning was confusing like I did, but I attributed it to me not paying attention or missing the point. Or lack of intelligence.

I’ve started re-reading “Choke” which feels like a toy compared to Great Circle. I thought I already posted about “Choke” but I can’t find it. Oh well, another day.

My cold seems gone. I’m back to work, feels like Monday. I’m in for a real treat when I realize that tomorrow is Friday.. I know it but I don’t know it, if you know what I mean.

Sick Day Today

Sundays 24 hour cold seems to have made a comeback. I went to work Monday, feeling like crap because I had some mandatory stuff to do. I was feeling better by the afternoon. Yesterday, I felt ok when I went to work, but got worse all day. This morning, when I opened my eyes, I felt OK, but I can tell I should be taking a sick day. Already feel crappier.

Ford Nucleon

I found this yesterday. Thee Ford Nucleon, nuclear powered car. Think of all the shielding needed in the back, protecting us from the reactor, the incredible weight allows the long overhanging front end. Google it. Read about it. It’s really neato mosquito cool and fun.

I was super sick yesterday. I guess I had a 24 hour cold. I went diving sunday, After that I sneezed, Then my head clogged solid and I had a cold. Then last night it just cleared up. I’m almost fully back to normal now.(Cold wise only, still normal crazy!)

Go out and buy a nuclear powered car today!

First Seahorse!

Today I’m having black tea instead of coffee. I have a cold and I would call in sick if it wasn’t for the work today. Inventory.

Yesterday, diving, I saw my first Seahorse ever. It was not as exciting as I had hoped.

Me On The Westin Webcam

I went to movie night last night. It was good. When I got there, I noticed the Westin Webcam, which I sometimes use as a weather/wave check.

It will frequently rain in town and not northern 7 Mile Beach or West Bay. Since I was on the Westin wifi, I did a screen grab of me on the camera.

It could be a nice hobby, traveling the world and collecting selfies on webcams. I have a picture of myself on the Akumal and the Macabuca webcams. And now the Westin. I noticed that the Westin webcam had a big 10 second time delay by the way. (That rhymes.)

There was also a nice sunset before the movie, which started instantaneously when the sun dipped below the horizon.

Grateful

Today I’m glad to just be sitting here with a cup of coffee. I woke up before the alarm, about an hour before, and couldn’t get back to sleep. Right now I’m tired but I feel very calm.

My electric bill this month was $324. That’s almost double what it was for June last year. I think the reason is 2 air conditioners running instead of just one. Is the apartment in the house. We haven’t even hit the hot months yet.

Elsa continues to move north. Looks like my old homestead, Chesapeake Virginia, is going to get some rain.

Tonight is movie night at the Weston, I think we have a good movie and good weather so it’ll probably happen. I’m going to get there pizza probably, Their jerk chicken was good. , someone gave me a slice a couple weeks ago. Jerk chicken pizza! Yeah baby!

Goldeneye

Super top secret agent and international spy Goldeneye, here disguised as a frog.

I took this last night. Pretty amazing gold frog and gold eyes.

I also discovered some rotten wood in my eaves last night. I was chasing ants. I think I can fix the eave, the ants I might need some help with, they’re everywhere. They eat potted plants from the roots up. They’re in the bathroom, they’re on the roof. In the yard. Everywhere, all sizes. Big and small and microscopic almost.

I wish the frog would eat all the ants.

Jealous Dogs

My dogs are so funny. If you pet one, the other comes running “pet me too! pet me too!” Above, see Daisy asking for a walk while jealous Lenny watches painfully. Then, here comes Lenny for the repeat performance.

Or maybe they just wanted some of the cashews I was eating..
