it was another dogbark night last night I don’t know where they all came from. It started with 2 dogs getting into another minor skirmish. Then trillions of dogs all started barking at once. My two started whining and crying and making little piggy sounds. I told them no barking, but they kept on with the noise and ended up in their kennels.
Last night, around 3, there was a loud dogfight not too far from here. My two dogs, as well as the other million bajillion in the neighborhood, all went nuts. The dogfight lasted maybe 15 seconds max, but but the bajillion neighborhood dogs kept barking incessantly.
It seems like there is a lot more dogs in our neighborhood than I knew about or imagined. And who is just gonna let their dogs sit out in the yard and bark all night? Mine went in the kennel because they wouldn’t shut up, then they shut up.
It was a nice long weekend, I went out for Friday breakfast and beach, Saturday was an 800 m sea swim. I came in 4th out of 5 in my age category, I should have done a lot better. I was and still am extremely extremely disappointed. I need more training. I need to be able to double my breath rate.
Yesterday morning I went diving, and in the afternoon was the 1st night of Hanukkah.
When I write it here, it seems like a short weekend, but it was a good long weekend. I also mowed the yard and did a ton of laundry.
Yesterday, I didn’t even think about mentioning American Thanksgiving. I had a little turkey and stuffing with lunch and when I got home I had the 2nd half of a pot of chili I had made.
Is the first pot of chili I’ve made in years ears, needed salt.
I went to the eye doctor yesterday and the pressure inside my eyeball went down considerably because of the medicine. Eye drops and some pills. Now is a week of just eye drops to see if the pressure stays low. The normal pressure inside a human eyeball is 21, I had a 36 in my left and an incredible 52 in my right. After the week on medication I was very close to 21 and 21.
I can actually see the difference in my eyeball.
Today is another use it or lose it Friday. I don’t know what I’m going to do today. Laundry and mow I suppose, everyone I know is working pretty much.
Yesterday, on my way to work I was hit by a school bus. He was driving over the line, and driving with his stop sign extended. He broke off my rear view mirror. I pulled over, ran around the curve to the bus stop where where the bus should have been stopped, but he was gone. The driver must have yelled at his kids “Get in! Get in! Quick! We got to go!” Because it was only one or two hundred feet from were he hit me to the bus stop.
The pictures above are from my dashcam video. I have the video, but I cannot post it online because it contains the school children at the bus stop.
I called the police from the scene, dropped off a copy of the video on the afternoon, and it’s all in their hands now.
I had to drive the rest of the way to work holding my mirror that was hanging by the wires. (The glass wasn’t broken). At lunchtime I fixed it with epoxy putty, but it needs replacing.
It’s really cold down here. Last night the temperature plummeted waaay down to the middle seventies. The weatherman says we have double cold fronts coming through, but on the map above I only see the Big One. I like maps like these. They are increasingly difficult to find.
Today is cloudy, cold and very windy. It is supposed to stay that way for the next few days.
I guess this is a post to about the weather. It wasn’t intended to be that, but I don’t know what it was intended to be when I started.
Yesterdays photos of the cat waiting for breakfast. The other day she was laying in the bigger pot, right behind her. She was hanging out there in a gale.
Right now it is raining, a calm comfortable rain. The kind that makes you want to put on your raincoat and go out and walk in it.
More divorce papers designed today, and East low and today I write the check I reckon. Every time I think it’s over it’s not over. Lord just get me through it.
Today I’m having lunch with some friends who are leaving the island.
I got a Samsung watch for my birthday in 2019, I really liked it. The display started flickering about May of this year. I went and bought another one, the Samsung Galaxy watch 2. The display on this one flickered after the warranty expired and a day.
I’m taking them to the cell phone repair place, I’m going to ask if they can be repaired. In the meantime I’ve got my old Garmin Vivosport back on.
I got a pair of these Aftershokz Aeropex Headphones and so far, I like them quite well. Your sound is better than I expected. I like the design and the style.
They are the bone conduction type of headphones, they don’t cover your ear opening. It disturbs me when I see people driving a car, riding a bicycle, or walking down the street wearing huge headphones. It disturbs me if I’m wearing headphones and I cannot hear traffic or my surroundings outdoors. These bone conducting headphones offer situational awareness, I can still hear what’s going on around me when I’m wearing the headphones.
They’re still in my testing stage and I’ll let you know more later.
The document signing mentioned yesterday didn’t happen, today at 10:30.. That’s the appointment.
Today I will probably go sign the petition for divorce submitted to my lawyer by my estranged wife’s lawyer. It has already been signed by her. The documents will then go through the court system where they will probably be processed by some clerk. We won’t know the exact moment we are no longer married, but the moment I sign the document today, both of us have taken all the action we will take for a divorce. So kind of, these are our last few hours married.
In a month or so, we’ll both get called to the courthouse to pick up our documents. Our own document of divorce.
I don’t feel like a divorce was necessary. I don’t think we had any big problems that couldn’t be easily remedied. I feel like I imagine I’d feel having a healthy arm and healthy leg removed just for the fun of it. I still love her and I will always love her.
