Sycamore Gap Tree

Read the article HERE.

You all probably know, I’m a big tree hugger. These guys took the prize for greatest fuckups.

There’s nothing that can be said.. I’m glad I’m not either one of those two.

Creatures of this planet consume other creatives and resources of this planet for survival. That’s the food chain, and how everything survives.

That’s different than taking life through senseless vandalism.

i don’t think that God thinks a human life is more important than a tree’s life, I think God thinks both are equal.. I imagine these poor stupid boys are going to find out either before or after they die.

Old Soviet Spacecraft To Crash This Weekend!

Better carry an umbrella this weekend so you don’t get bonked on the head!

A 53 year old Soviet Spacecraft is supposed to re-enter Earth’s atmosphere this weekend. It never made it to Venus, as intended. But don’t worry, the only danger zone is along where the yellow and green lines are on the map above. Just in the teeny weeny area of the Earth’s surface depicted by the yellow and or green lines above. Just in that little area.live the people who have to worry!

Designed to land on Venus, the spacecraft should definitely survive the trip through Earth’s atmosphere. Read the article HERE.

I wonder how big of a crater 500 kilogram spacecraft would make?

Happy Friday! Have a wonderful weekend! And don’t you worry ’bout a thing!

I Got That Goin’!

the above statement has pretty much always been my plan. Ever since I got the Pearl Harbor Hawaii in the Navy. My motto has always been, “When I’m not at work, I’m on vacation!” And it is pretty close to being true. I have a wonderful life, and I am grateful everyday to be here in the Cayman Islands. Grateful everyday for the weather for the water and for the beaches for the swimming for the people and for the government for my job for my car and for my dog – everything.

the only thing I would change, is that I’ve always been very careful not to get anyone pregnant. If I could start my life over again, knowing what I know now, I would get everyone pregnant that I could. At least a time or two.

Of course, I realize that having children would change my entire timeline, and makes me wonder…..

65%

65% of the way done..These 10 percents go slow. First I was stuck in the 40s, and then I was stuck in the 50s, and now I’m stuck in the 60s!

it’s taking for-ever!

But I’m loving it! I’m already planning my next class!

Ccccold!

Had a couple friends over last night for a tuna on the grill event and an ice bath. It was much colder than the previous only ice bath I had in Panama. There was so much ice in the tub, there was hardly any room for the person!

I forgot to get a picture of me in there. But I was unable to stay in there very long. I leaned back only for a second or two it was freezing. It’s harder in a small tub where you have to ease in inch by inch instead of plunge in a larger tub. It’s torturous!

Here’s two panoramas from this mornings walk.

Now I’m headed off to work. Have a great day!

Food Post

Below is a picture of yesterday’s breakfast. An Acai Bowl from Island Naturals.

Saturday I had breakfast had a new place, near my house. Since it’s new, I can’t remember the name .Two Italian words. I think it was her first time in my life I ever had eggs benedict, on an English muffin with salmon and potatoes.

And here’s my coffee I’m drinking right now..

today is a holiday here. Emancipation Day. Today I’m having lunch with a friend and then I’m having guests over for tuna on the grill.

Have a great week!

Duolingo Update

I think the last time I posted about Duolingo, I said I was going to quit. Well, I didn’t. I’m still going.

I I suppose the description under the 30 is fairly accurate, but general conversations that I hear are too fast for me to understand. I still enjoy the lessons, and it’s become a pretty significant part of my morning routine..

here’s my Duolingo avatar, looks just like me, doesn’t it? Except my head is a little bit more pointy.

Yesterday wad election day here, Republic holiday, today is back to work. Like the week’s second monday.

Have a great day!!!

Election Day Holiday

today is a holiday because of the Cayman Islands four your elections. I’m getting ready to go vote.

I slept a little late this morning, which was really nice. And I just got done with my normal morning routine. My Sun Salutations and 8 minutes of OM.

1101 days of OM in a row..Over halfway through my course (I think the second half will be more challenging than the first!!!)

Right now I’m drinking my first cup of coffee. Then a shower and out to vote!

Have a wonderful day!

I See Slow

As previously mentioned, I have quite bad eyes.. Cataracts, glaucoma, epiretinal membrane and macular degeneration. I noticed recently (actually for quite a while now) that I “see slow”. When I see a person, it takes time to scan their face and recognize them. Yesterday in a store somebody called my name, I turned and waved and said hello and then they walked out of sight. I didn’t have time to really see their face. I stopped at a stoplight and looking at the license plate in front of me, some of the numbers will be blurred or seem to be missing parts, I absorb the numbers that I can see, and then I have to go back and like scan the parts that I can’t see clearly.

it’s difficult to describe what a defect in the vision is like. I can see okay to drive, reading still seems to be okay, but slower, and I practically need the extra large text I get on my Kindle.

Did you ever see somebody, like Stevie Wonder, move their head and fa kind of igure eight pattern? I catch myself doing something similar, trying to get a good part of the optic nerve to see the missing part of my eye’s image.

I call it seeing slow.

Tomorrow is election day here. I’m ready to vote!
