House Work

Did quite a bit of painting when I got home from work yesterday. I painted the whole downstairs carport with Brick Red Concrete sealer. After work today, I plan on fixing a few dribbles with yellow and thin spots of the brick red. I’m running out of paint brushes and rollers and with this covid 19 thing going on, I can’t get more.

I painted all the brick red

I’m getting caught up at work, believe it or not. Or so it seems. I’m afraid I’ll jinx myself by saying that.

Looks like another good day, same as the good day yesterday!

Slowing Down With Age

I guess I’m about ready for a new tablet. My S3 has been giving indications of slowing down with age.

Back to work Monday. It was a good, largely boring weekend. I pressure washed the new concrete near the driveway, and I’ll paint it this week.

I need a bag of cement, and some 3/4 inch PVC pipe. I’ll be glad when the “non critical” stores open up again. There was talk of some countries loosening up and leaning back towards normal.

It seems odd to me now, used to be, I’d pop into the store for one item. Maybe I need batteries or Q-Tips, something forgotten on the grocery list. Going to the hardware store for one screw, 12 cents. Those days seem like a long time ago. now, going to the store is a major event. Set the alarm, mask and gloves, get there when they open, show your ID. Don’t forget anything ’cause there’s no going back. Everything’s a major event now.

I hope thinks go back to “normal” and I hope “normaal” is the same “normal” that it was before.

Me. Sewing.

Not a pleasant experience…

I had a lifetime supply of dust protection face masks. One package, about 20, all I’d ever need. I gave them to the construction crew when they were here. So now, when I need dust protection masks for this covid 19 thing, I don’t have them and can’t get them. Which I find quite irritating.

I’m definitely a type 1

So I decided to make my own face mask. I got a pattern off the internet, cut some cardboard, and a new XXL T shirt, unused, from some event.

It only took me two days! I threw it away and later picked it out of the garbage two times, and I might still make some more adjustments so It might not be done yet.

But here it is:

All done by hand. Maybe someday I’ll give you a sewing lesson.

Happy Friday! Have a good weekend!

Back To Work

I got my “critical worker” letter yesterday, and it’s back to work today. I expect to be the only one there.

This covid 19 is getting serious. I don’t really want to go to work, I don’t really want to stay home either. I think the wife will be glad to have me ou of the house though.

One day at a time, play it by ear, stay safe!

Jupiter-Mars-Saturn

I’ve been seeing an interesting triangle in the mornings when I walk before sunrise, Jupiter, Mars and Saturn.

It’s worth a get-up-and-look.

All goes well, mornings are tougher.when my routine says go to work. I am waiting for a letter from work, identifying me as a critical employee, meanwhile, my work accumulates on my desk.

I’m kinda crabby this morning, but have a great day.

Late Monday

This morning, my alarm went off at the normal 4:45, I got up shaved and went for a walk / swim. (Curfew ended at 5AM). Then I came back home and took the dogs for their walk. Then, with permission in accordance with the alphabetical scheme, I went grocery shopping.

I bought dog food, cat food and human food. Then I came home, and haad my first cuppa coffee. Now I’m on my second cup, and I’m posting my daily post.

I’m getting pretty tired of this, and it’s only been about a week. I think it’s going to last a lot longer….

Fits pretty well.

I read that one third of the planet is on lockdown.

Stay safe, and have a good day

Lockdown Day 2

Got quite a bit of work done around the house yesterday. Cleaned the apartment and installed a WiFi repeater for internet there.

I tried to get a letter so I could go to work today, but didn’t. I think the lockdown ends tomorrow morning, not sure.

My coffee isn’t great, I made the pot in the apartment, it has a plastic-ey taste.

Not much going on.

Lockdown

Well, we’re on total lockdown now, nobody is allowed their residences. The airport is on the list of exemptions, but my boss says go ahead and stay at home.

I’m sitting on the back porch of the apartment. There’s a fridge and a coffee maker and WiFi. No bed yet. The contractor has been locked down too, They’ve done nothing, really, since December. Only the electrician and plumber have been around. No Certificate Of Occupancy yet either.

It should be an interestingly boring day. I’ll probably putz around the yard or spend time on the sun deck. Maybe break out the chainsaw and trim the trees.

Have a good day.

SIlent Night

Last night the curfew started at 7PM, adjusted from 9PM. I woke up last night and went out on the porch and it was incrediblely silent. Not a single car moving, anywhere. The rediculous nightly ice cream truck blaring Christms music full blast all year. It was kinda like an island wide power failure, and you can suddenly see 20X more stars. You didn’t know you were missing it. In fact, the quiet made the stars seem brighter.

It was a beautiful night last night. Have a beautiful day!
