As you recall, I lost Ashy not long ago. I still have four cats, but I suspect the two males had an altercation and the older cat, Goldie, is hiding in the vacant lot next door. He won’t come over for meals and I took food over to him this morning, but I’m not sure he ate it.
Im thinking about making Knip (the aggressor) an indoor cat and leave the outdoors free for Goldie. Maybe he’d come back over if Knip was not around.
It is 6:48. I got up at 4:55. I just now got to the point where my morning routine is done and I can finally sit down with my coffee. In 9 minutes, I have to leave for work. I have a pretty intensive morning routine. Feed dogs and cats, water plants. Walk dogs, exercise, shower shave and things like that.
its pretty good. It’s a nice morning this morning. Perfect temperature. Yesterday was better though, a little more breeze. This morning, the moon was half covered by clouds, all morning till it set. It was like the clouds didn’t move, for an hour.
this morning, when I went upstairs for my exercise, I found a pigeon-like bird on my roof. She didn’t fly away and I assumed she was injured. We walked around each other while I got her some water and did my exercises. After I was done, I picked up my exercise mat and she flew away with great flurry. I guess she wasn’t injured after all. I’ve had experiences where birds try to occupy my roof and try to aggressively keep me off the roof. That doesn’t work out so well for them. I hope this girl wasn’t looking for a place to build a nest. I cleaned up the poop and took the water away.
Had a relatively painless night last night. Slept pretty good and had ok thoughts while awake. I’ve heard it said it’s darkest before the dawn, but I find it hard to believe this b******* is me getting better.
This morning I was on my roof, looking at the sunrise and listening to the birds and other sounds. I started thinking about what a cool job it would be to be a Mars Rover operator. Go to work early, put on the 3D goggles, and the headphones and sit there on Mars and watch the sunrise and hear the sounds. No birds, but maybe some wind.
I saw an article yesterday about Mars’s moon Deimos passing in front of Jupiter. See the article HERE.
Jupiter apparently would look quite large from Mars at its closest. It would be a cool thing to see.
Today Ashy the cat is going in for a checkup. Hope she’s not too miserable at work with me.
Today is payday. Today is Thursday. Today is payday Thursday. I need to go shopping, mostly for dog food and cat food. Coincidentally my two dogs and my five cats both consume one bag of dog food every 10 days. Therefore, on paydays, I usually buy three bags of dog food and three bags of cat food. Today however because of the weather there are many panic buyers in the stores and it is very crowded. So I’m dreading stopping by the store on the way home from work today.
We’re probably going to get some weather at the beginning of next week.
in other news, yesterday I was selected for a jury. My case starts Monday. I’ve been picked each and every time. Even though I was able to get out of it a couple of times.
It was a windy wavy weekend with no diving and not many outdoor activities for me. I cleaned the house, namely the floor. There’s 5 minutes, after th floor is done and before I let the dogs out on it that are really nice.
Then here they come, drinking water and dribbling it all over from their jowls, tufts of fur rolling across like sagebrush in the wild wild west within minutes. Paw prints and furballs.
I wouldn’t change a thing!
Although I’m thinking about getting a vacuum cleaner. What do you know about vacuum cleaners?
i was in bed last night and I moved my leg and it was stuck to the sheets. I felt down and there was sticky stuff below my knee. I had been bleeding from some cut or poke on my leg. I don’t know what happened. Maybe riding my bike or maybe I just bumped into something. But I had to change the sheets and do laundry at 10:30 last night. (I figured it would wash out better if washed immediately)
I slept good, I never heard the washing machine, woke up and it was done, put the stuff in the dryer, never hard a thing, woke up and it was done. Perfect!
And here’s a cat pic for you, Goldie, sleeping in the motorcycle.
Last night, around 3, there was a loud dogfight not too far from here. My two dogs, as well as the other million bajillion in the neighborhood, all went nuts. The dogfight lasted maybe 15 seconds max, but but the bajillion neighborhood dogs kept barking incessantly.
It seems like there is a lot more dogs in our neighborhood than I knew about or imagined. And who is just gonna let their dogs sit out in the yard and bark all night? Mine went in the kennel because they wouldn’t shut up, then they shut up.
It was a nice long weekend, I went out for Friday breakfast and beach, Saturday was an 800 m sea swim. I came in 4th out of 5 in my age category, I should have done a lot better. I was and still am extremely extremely disappointed. I need more training. I need to be able to double my breath rate.
Yesterday morning I went diving, and in the afternoon was the 1st night of Hanukkah.
When I write it here, it seems like a short weekend, but it was a good long weekend. I also mowed the yard and did a ton of laundry.
Yesterday, as I was closing the windows and doors, getting ready to depart for work, I noticed a huge tail on the window screen. My first thought was that it was a gecko, but it turned out to be a large and beautiful dragonfly. I couldn’t leave him between the screen and the glass all day so I tried to rescue him. Thankfully I was successful and I let him go on the back porch. I was afraid that he would be easily damaged in the wings but he made it OK. He hopped right into the cup.
Tonight is movie night at the Westin hotel. The movie is Mission Impossible. I’m going, but I’ll probably be late because I have an optometrist appointment at 5 PM. Who ever heard of an optometrist appointment at 5 PM? Ridiculous. Middle of the night. Then I have to come home and walk the dogs before I can go to the movie. But I plan on being there!
I had an interesting weekend, I took the day off Friday and went snorkeling with some friends. Saturday a quarantiner dude came buy to pay for his quarantine after his return flight Nov 6th. He liked the place, paid, and left for the airport. 10 minutes later he calls and asks if he can leave his car at the house. I said OK and that I would even give him a ride to the airport. (I’m so nice!) I took him to the airport and dropped him off. 10 minutes later he calls and he left some travel documents in his car could I go get them. Perturbed now, I came back home, dug through his car to find his documents and took them to him at the airport. The guy seemed shady, nothing he said was specific, I had a weird feeling, but ignored it, maybe he was just a weird kid. After I dropped off his documents, I went scuba diving. As soon as I was done diving and got back in the car he called again. Customs found $24000 in cash in his luggage undeclared. They took the money and wouldn’t let him fly. I picked him up and took him back to his car, at my house. He told a story about being a real estate auction investor and they wouldn’t take credit cards or checks it was only cash. I gave him his money back told him I thought he was a crook and that’s the end of the story. It really killed my Saturday, I missed my 8 o’clock appointment because he was late coming to see the apartment and pay, I missed my 10:30 appointment because I went to go get his travel documents. I missed my planned grocery shopping excursion because I took him to his car and get rid of him.
Saturday and Sunday I went diving and took the dogs to the beach Sunday. Pictures below
I have a happy Monday, trust your instincts, and have a good week!
