Cat’s In The Pan

Yesterdays photos of the cat waiting for breakfast. The other day she was laying in the bigger pot, right behind her. She was hanging out there in a gale.

Right now it is raining, a calm comfortable rain. The kind that makes you want to put on your raincoat and go out and walk in it.

More divorce papers designed today, and East low and today I write the check I reckon. Every time I think it’s over it’s not over. Lord just get me through it.

Today I’m having lunch with some friends who are leaving the island.

Have a great day!

Aaaand Itsanuther Mundee!

It’s Monday again, and since I posted all my underwater pictures and weekend report yesterday, I have nothing for today.

Yesterday, I cleaned my workshop area a little, just the workbench and the junk on the floor, and stowed my generator for the non-hurricane season which starts in a couple weeks. I went to an evening barbecue yesterday, in the evening. Good chicken and ribs and potatoe salad.

Below is a picture of Lee Lee thee cat sleeping in a potted plant. It’s unusual because the wind was blowing quite strongly but I guess the shelter and comfort was sufficient.

Lee Lee napping in a gale

This morning is still quite cloudy and quite windy but but the weather should improve soon. Hopefully I can swim my half mile at lunch, rain or shine.

Have a good day and a better week!

Covid in Cayman

Covid is here in Cayman. A friend of mine has it, many people I know have quarantined because someone they know having it. We are supposed to open our borders this November and I think we’re gonna do it come hell or high water. Get used to covid. Just like fender benders and zits. It’s here forever.

And I’m glad! I’ll be glad when I can travel and come back without quarantine.

Below is a picture of my cat, Knip, (the K is not silent) that I took yesterday sitting on the front of my van. He was on the roof and jumped down when I got in, then he jumped off when I started the engine.

The week is almost finished. Hang in there! I’m pretty sure you’ll make it!

Ciao!

Sleep Tests & Adjustments

I was going to post a picture of the cat, but the cat moved. I’ve been trying to get a specific shot for 2 days and both times she follows me when I go to get the camera.

I’ve been trying to improve my sleep. My sleep monitoring app says I’m sleeping pretty good but I don’t feel like I am. I think I’m fooling it by laying still and relaxing even though I’m awake.

This mornings

I am experimenting with the bed, changing blankets and and etcetera. A few months ago I got new pillows and slept really well for a few days after that. I was excited to go to bed to test the new pillow. Nowadays I can’t tell if I’m too cold or too hot and I’m switching blankets this week. It seems like I always wake up at regular intervals, and the regular intervals stay the same. It’s weird that I can’t tell if I’m sleeping well or not.

Have a happy hump day!

Footprints…

Ashy’s bed-on-bed

When I wake up in the morning I make my bed very smooth so that if the cat walks on it I can see her footprints.

And yes, I always make my bed. To quote one of my best, long-lost Navy friends, Delawares own, Albert “Young Al” Davidson; “What kinda squid doesn’t make his rack.” It’s not a question.

Once a squid always a squid.

.

Happy Saturday!

Happy Birthday Queen!

Today is the Queen’s birthday holiday. Her 1st birthday without her husband.

It’s always nice to have a long weekend.

It’s been another good, productive, weekend. Saturday I trimmed the bushes and mowed the yard. It came out well. The yard and bushes look good. Yesterday I started repainting the roof. I got this rubberized roof paint that seems pretty good . I will finish that job today I sure hope, unless I run out of paint.

The weather here has been weird this weekend. Weather report says overcast, but while it’s not really cloudy, (you can see the sun and airplanes and stuff) the sky is white and not blue.

And now for a couple of amusing pictures from yesterday:

Excuse me for waking you up, but would you mind getting up from your nap, getting out of bed, getting dressed and taking us for our walk? We know it’s three hours early but pleeeeese?
Look at those dawgs, getting walked early AGAIN! But will we get our food early? Noooooo! Let’s kill them all!

Have a nice week!

Helluva 10 Days

I’ve had a hell of a 10 days.

Last Saturday, (not day-before-yesterday, a week before that) I went to one of my best friends’s funeral.

Last Sunday, my wife told me she doesn’t love me anymore and wants a divorce.

Last week I went to a counsellor with the wife and felt like they were both ganged up on me.

I kind of had a meltdown at work after that because I’ve been feeling ignored, not part of the team, and when everyone, everyone except me. left to go to a meeting. I figure my same insanity that makes me invisible at work is the same insanity that makes my wife want to leave.

Last Friday, I took my cat to the vet and found out she had lymphoma (cancer) and there was nothing that could be done to save her. She wasn’t in pain, so I brought her home to live her life. She almost immediately disappeared and I assume she’s gone forever.

Things probably can’t get worse, but it might. I have an “executive physical” tomorrow, A very intensive physical exam. I think I’m ok but you never know.

But overall, I gotta be near the valley floor, sstarting to climb high again. Have a good week!

BTK Big Belly

Our cat, BTK (pronounced beeteekee) Seems to feel fine, but hre belly has swollen as big as a honeydew melon. This morning, when I fed them (we have 5 outdoor cats) I grabbed her and put her in a kennel to take to the vet today. I made her an appointment yesterday.) I know it’s for her own good, but I hope she’s not mad at me when we get back home. I also hope there’s not much wrong with her that a simple pill or shot won’t fix.

BTK is the mother of most of our cats, probably about 12 years old. She was always so good to her children, letting them have her food after they ate all theirs, even when they got older. My mentor for keeping an even temper. I’ll be glad when I get her home, safe and healthy.

It’s FRIDAY! Yeay!Have a good weekend!

Second Monday

Yesterday was a holiday Wednesday for the election. Today seems like the second monday this week. Glad tomorrow is the second Friday this week. I am very tired right now. I closed my eyes and could have fallen asleep while walking the dogs this morning.

Here’s a picture of Ashy, our cat, taken yesterday. She’s resting up for bedtime.

I’ll be perusing the election results today, but at first glance this morning, seems like we did coulda done better.

Cat Closet

For the past several days, our cat has been obsessed with the bedroom closet. Every morning, she meows and wakes us up and wants to go in there.

This morning we had it out. I guess I won, because she’s hiding under the kitchen table.

She was whining, and I took her to her bed on the sofa, she ran back to the closet door. I picked her up, and put her on her bed on our bed, I petted her and got her pretty calmed down, but then she went back to the closet door, meowing loudly.

I put her back on the bed and she bit me, pretty hard. I gave her a swat and told her, “If you wanna play nice, I’ll plaay nice. If you wanna play rough, I’ll play rough”. Then I went downstairs and got her kennel.

She’s been quietly laying on a chair under the table ever since.

Today I’m taking the van in for some minor issues. Sounds like a loose piece of plastic inside the horn button, the telephone microphone doesn’t work on the bluetooth stereo, and there’s this rediculous heater in the back back that needs to come out.

Allso, my sister is quite sick, and I may need to go see her very soon.

Have a good day!
