Klara And The Sun

SPOILER ALERT! Reading further might reduce the pleasure gained, if you plan on reading this book.

I’m reading a book called Klara And The Sun. I like it quite a lot. It’s about an AF, artificial friend, a robot, who gets energy from the sun.

i find it very enjoyable. Klara is purchased for a young girl who has some kind of sickness. I am about 60% through the book.

At the beginning of the book, Klara was in the store, and I didn’t know what she was, what AF stood for or anything. It has been a pleasant read from the beginning, figuring out what is going on has been, for me, one of the main pleasures. Hence the spoiler alert. Worth a read.

You know I take yoga, right? I realized I feel shame about yoga. I was avoiding saying I was went. To me, it’s not viewed as a very tough, manly thing to do. It was recommended that I take yoga by my counselor as strongly as a counselor can recommend, which really isn’t very forceful, but I was willing to do anything to feel better and I have to admit yoga makes me feel better and is excellent excellent exercise. (Depending on the class).

So there ya have it. Have a good day.

Queens Funeral Day

Today is the holiday for Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral. I watched lot of it, till they put the casket in the hearse.

it was a good, busy weekend. Saturday was the first session of four session Home Gardening Course. It was good and informative.

yesterday i went to an 0700 yoga class at One Heart then diving,

pike blenny

In the afternoon I went out on a boat trip to Stingray City.. My stingray pictures are still on the camera, but here’s the sunset

Had a big beef sausage and egg breakfast this morning and not i’ll probably putz around the yard today.

Super Duper Weekend!

Friday afternoon, I took half the day off work, mowed my yard. I was super glad to get that out of the way.! Friday night, went to the 1 year anniversary dinner of One Heart. It was great! Best time and company I’ve had in years.

Saturday, i took my tennant who was renting the downstairs apartment to the airport and began cleaning up for the next renter. Wanna come visit? Now is the time!

also Saturday, at about 13:16:40 hours, I passed the milestone of one billion seconds clean and sober. That’s about 31 years 8 months.

Sunday, nobody was diving, so I signed up for a 7AM class. I thought it would be crowded, but it was nobody but me and the instructor, and I again enjoyed wonderful company along with quite a workout. In the future, I figure I can make that 0700 class and still make it to a 0900 shore dive…. Beats trying to make a noon class after the dive and missing lunch with the dive crew…

I needed to tidy up a little around the house, and around noon Sunday, decided I needed some bookends. So, on a whim, I made some. More like a mini shelf, really. The ends can slide along the bottom board, making it adjustable.

I gotta say, for less than an hours work, it came out pretty good. I’ve had this old scrap piece of hardwood for years and years and it was perfect for this project. I could have spent infinitely more time on it and made it all fancy, but I got it working and left it there, I like it. It’s rude and crude, just like me.

Sunday, later in the afternoon, I went to a birthday party where there was entirely too much food.

Now it’s Monday again, back to work. 🙁

Cheer Up!

Well, we got that Monday out of the way. Now it’s Tuesday. I went to the eye doctor yesterday, my glaucoma is getting worse, although the pressures are lower, 14 and 18. So I got more drops. It can get worse, but under no circumstances can it get better. Nothing I can do about it. But I’m kind of crabby today.

Here’s a picture of me standing on my head this morning to cheer you up. From my security camera.

Have a great day!

Upside Down

Yesterday was my first of two classes about “How To Stand On Your Head” I did it! First time ever! I had a wall behind me, but hopefully next week I can get rid of the wall. I practiced this morning too.

i didn’t really think it thru, the instructor finally got me up and said “congratulations on your first headstand.” I said, in Beavis and Butt-Head style Hehe everything is upside down” Everyone laughed and I really enjoyed the class.

Overall, it was a good weekend. Mowed the yard. Glued the pot the cat knocked over. It needs more work, and it’s never going to be the same. But maybe it will be good for something.(artificial plants?)

The Bad Side

And the jungel-ish yard got mowed by me..

We have Sahara dust wrecking the weather and the sky is a grey-white of lugubriousness.

sunset last night

But its going to be a great week! I’m sure yours will be great too!

Mission Failed

All i planned on doing this weekend was cleaning the house. I failed gloriously. Saturday I went to breakfast with friends, then lunch with a different group of friends, then saw the Batabanu Carnival Parade.

Sunday I went diving then went to a yoga class, and then mowed the yard . Below are some underwater pictures from yesterday.

And now it’s back to work on a Monday and I don’t mind going.

Have a great week like I’m going to have!

Yoga Class

Last night I did a yoga class. I quite enjoyed it. It was a Yin class. Yin means:

It was very nice for kind of my first class ever. The instructor helped and everyone else didn’t seem light-years ahead of me advanced. I liked it much much more than I expected to.

I’m going back!

Happy Friday!

Two Bad Samsung Watches

I got a Samsung watch for my birthday in 2019, I really liked it. The display started flickering about May of this year. I went and bought another one, the Samsung Galaxy watch 2. The display on this one flickered after the warranty expired and a day.

I’m taking them to the cell phone repair place, I’m going to ask if they can be repaired. In the meantime I’ve got my old Garmin Vivosport back on.

I really did like the Samsung watch and the watch 2.

It was a good weekend, a lot of diving. Have a great week!

Another Day Off Friday!

It’s another day off Friday for me! I don’t have any plans except to drink this cuppa coffee. Maybe beach today.

I’ve been swimming the half mile almost every day at lunch time. Once this week, I finished my swim and got out of the water and saw a girl swimming pretty close behind me. She swam on by as I got out and walked to the shower. While I was rinsing off I saw her walking down the beach towards the start of the half mile. She had her goggles and I knew she was a fellow swimmer practicing for the races.

She was about 25 meters ahead of me, walking down the beach. She started to walk past the beginning of the half mile and I thought “Dang, she must have swam the mile instead of the half mile.” As soon as I had the thought, she she got back in the water and began swimming the half mile again. At least twice.

I want to try that now, swim the half mile, walk back to the beginning, and swim it again.

Maybe today.

Have a great day and a wonderful weekend.

Decrease Your Walking Time

I believe I’ve discovered a way to decrease the time I spend walking in the mornings. Without decreasing the distance walked. I’ll show you: go on, get up and walk. Now walk faster, faster still, a little bit faster, faster! That’s pretty good!

I believe the term that I should use for this faster walking will be “running”.

I shall get it to patented and copyrighted and I shall be rich for my invention!

Seriously though, it’s Wednesday, I slept good last night, I feel good now, I’m ready to go to work. I plan on swimming in half mile at lunch time like I did yesterday.

Have a wonderful day!
