What Is Cold Sea Sausage? And How Is It Used?

This morning when the alarm went off I was having a dream that I was in college, taking a test. The first question was “What is ‘cold sea sausage’, and how is it used? I was looking through my books and notes, trying to find the answer for so long that other people in the class were finishing the test. The college instructor was a US Marine, so nobody was really allowed to talk, but after a while, I asked out loud: “WTF is up with this first question?” Someone said it was a trick question.

Cold Sea SausageI woke up without reading the second question….What do you think of that dream? C’mon, don’t hold back.

In other news, I got my scooter back before lunch yesterday, and it seems to be running very well. They said that the bolt I found was not from my scooter and that they checked and all nuts and bolts seem to be in place. My Yamaha hero is back from vacation and the whole store is running smoothly again.

Yesterday, I don’t know what happened, I got up, did everything I normally do, and started heading to work. On the road were all the school kids. I thought “what thee bloody ‘ell is going on here?” and looked at my watch. I was a full half hour early. I don’t know why, but usually I barely have time to get everything done, and it’s time to go. Yesterday, I got everything done and went, and it was wayyyy early. Then I spent the morning wondering what I forgot to do.

It’s HUMP Day! Tomorrow is our 4 Year Wedding Anniversary. I have my wifes present sittin here on my table, in snowman wrapping paper. She just asked me, “What’s that Christmas present?” I said, without turning my head to see what she was talking about, or blinking or flinching, “What Christmas present?” Ha Ha!

Week Flying By Like A Comet!

This week has flown by. I can’t believe it’s Thursday already.

I got my scooter back yesterday. It seems to be running OK now. Call me paranoid, but now it seems the brakes are worse. I’m not taking it back.

In the news, at the end of this year, we should see a comet in our skies. AND, if it survives it’s trip around the sun, we should be able to see it in the DAYTIME! I remember that comet in 1997, Hale Bopp it was cool.

Comet_Hale-BoppI remember looking at it, and it was weird, because it felt like looking at something that you couldn’t quite focus on properly. I didn’t have my binoculars then. I got ’em now! I hope we get to see it!

Today should be a good day at work. I’m looking forward to the weekend. Let’s go lets go lets GO!

The Bus Is For Them Rich People

Last week I took my scooter in for it’s 3000 kilometer (3 megameter) maintenance. When I got it back it would cut out and bog down, and to accelerate, I had to open the throttle all the way. Yesterday I took it back. I figured that the spark plug wire was loose or something. They promised me I could have it back by lunch. At 3:30 yesterday afternoon they hadn’t started on it yet. and when I got there after work, they were working on the carburetor. I had to walk half way across the island to catch the bus. Now I have to take the bus this morning, and walk half way across the island from the bus stop to work.

They better not fuck up my bike.

There’s one guy that works there, when he’s there, everything always goes smoothly. When he’s not, it’s all shit.

Yeah, he’s on vacation.

I was listening to the BBC this morning about France legalizing gay marriage. The gays kept saying they were all happy they could have kids now. I didn’t think it worked that way. I learned it took opposite sexes to reproduce. I thought the gays wanted to get married so that they could cover each other on insurance, file joint taxes and in legal matters.

Anyway, I gotta go, because I have to catch the bus. I can’t afford the bus. It costs $2 each way. $2 one way and $2 back. $4 a day! That’s a weeks worth of gas for me. The bus is for them rich people.

Rambling Wednesday

Here we are, at hump day. When this week started, I thought it’d never end, but it’s not going too badly.

At work it is the annual flight check. An aircraft comes in with equipment to check all our equipment. It’s my first one and so far, very interesting. Except for minor adjustments, I don’t think they have found anything wrong.

Yesterday I had my scooters 3000K maintenance done. They didn’t find anything wrong there either, but I think they turned the idle down a little, and it doesn’t seem to coast as well. I have to check it more though, I haven’t ridden it much since I got it back.

I want to start swimming after work again. I used to swim every day, and kind of quit when I got the first scooter, because I didn’t have anyplace to put my laptop when I swam, now I don’t carry a laptop so it seems I can start swimming again. It would be better if I got off at 4 instead of 4:30. However, getting off at 4:30 is better than getting off at 5..

I guess I’m just rambling so that’s all for today.

Adjustment Attempt

I’m going to try to make some adjustments at work. My normal hours are 8:30 till 5. This sucks because of traffic. Even on the scooter, it’s stressful, all the traffic. Sitting still, me, riding around the lines of traffic.. You know, in the car, scooters pass all the time. On the scooter, you hardly ever see another scooter, because we keep moving. You see them going the other way, but you don’t pass them often and they don’t pass you. Here’s a two and a half minute video of me passing traffic on the way in. This is torture for me if I am in the car.

So, getting back on track, I am going to ask if I can work from 7:30 to 4. Yesterday I went in at 8 and the traffic was still pretty bad, and the boss had no problem letting me go at 4:30. He said if I want to adjust my regular working hours, just request in writing. So that’s what I’ll do. I was going to wait till I finish my probationary period, it two weeks, but my boss seemed pretty agreeable to it.

Last night it got really windy and cloudy. The wind is blowing hard from the north. But it’s not too cold. I still can’t find a decent source for Cayman Weather, but I think I’m going to drive the car today.

Still having problems with my spam protection, causing me to moderate each comment. The problem is there is an authorization code that I can’t make “stick” in my settings page. I keep changing it and it keeps switching back to the old one.

And that’s it. Have a good day!

Here We Are

We’re all here because we’re not all there. I am glad it’s Wednesday. I thought this week would have been a lot tougher.

Myabe I don’t have hernia. I hope not. It doesn’t hurt when I sneeze. I remember the first time, sneezing was a very bad thing to do. It still feels like a knife is stuck in my gut, but maybe it will get better.

I took my scooter in for it’s 1000 KM maintenance. It was covered under warranty, except labor.Of course, they tried to charge me for the labor and I had to whip out the paperwork on their asses. When I got there the bill was $75.04. Guess how much cash came out of my pocket at the end? Four Cents. It was $66 labor, which was removed, then $9.04 in parts (quart of oil) which I used $9 in “points” and paid four pennies out of my pocket. I came out pretty good I think.

Then last night we went and saw part 1 of “The Hobbit” It was good. The Wife was worried about having nightmares from the Pale Orc, but I thought he was a pretty sharp lookin’ fella. Now the Orc with the beard of fat was gross. Can’t wait to see more of the dragon…

Have a successful hump day!

Tuesday American Football Quickpost & Scooter Question

Here’s last weeks wins and next weeks hope-to-wins from me.

I test rode the scooter, I am thinking about it The place that sells them is more of an auto parts store, and the salesman had to go ask his boss if he can negotiate the price. It’s a 2012, I thought it was a 2013.

Above is a comparison of the two scooters. I wonder how the accident risk graph at the bottom is determined…. (Click for enlarged view) Any ideas?
