Fitbit

My wife got me a Fitbit Charge, she’s had one a while and likes it. I expressed an interest and she surprised me!

It seems pretty cool. It’s fun entering all the info from the food you eat, keeping track of everything. I especially like the  bar code scanner.

It measures your activity during the day, and how you sleep at night.

I wear it in the shower, but not in the sea, not sure how waterproof it is.. I’ll find out, but I’m pretty sure you can’t take it diving.

Superbowl was yesterday. Both teams sucked. Denver had no third down conversions but won it. Carolina didn’t play well at all either.

It’s Monday, I’m tired and crabby. It’s cold and wwindy outside…Good day for working, if there ever was

Melatonin Dosage

I’ve been taking Melatonin before bed for over a year. Over time, I have found that 15 mg is the perfect dose. My pharmacist says this is fine. We have these 10 mg tablets. I was taking 2 before bed. Forthe past few days, I’ve been taking only 1. I notice that I’m waking up early and not able to sleep again. I guess it’s back to 2 again.

Tonight we’re having guests over for dinner. I’m making a whole tenderloin on the grill.

I slept lightly last night. I felt aware of my surroundings all night. I’m very sleeeeepy today.

Early To Bed, Early To Rise

Went to bed at about 8:15 last night. Without a word, the wife and I both got up and went to bed. When we got there, I said “You know it’s only 8:20, right?” She said  “Whaaaa      ?”, and then we were both asleep.

I think we need a new mattress, my back has been killing me for two days. I can’t even touch my knees without pain. Thank God for ibuprofen.

I don’t wanna go to work today. I wanna go to the beach!

No News Is Good News

It was a great weekend! Friday I stayed home while the Wife went out to Oktoberfest. Not my cuppa tea)

Saturday I went to the beach, wife had to work (only for two hours). The beach is full of seaweed, and I had the whole 7 Mile Beach to myself! Didn’t see another soul. The sea’s been pretty  rough, with the wind coming opposite the normal direction. Good sand n sun tho, it was great!

Sunday, we took Sheba to the beach at Barkers, not much seaweed there, came back, gave Sheba a bath. Then I trimmed the tree in the back yard. It had branches hanging down almost to the ground. After that we went to a friends house and hung out by the pool.

And I watched Football, Redskins won,  Dallas lost.

It was a good weekend.

Super weird dreams last night though. I had a brain twister about the anomalies of the number 96. And a different dream that someone was building real structures of optical illusions. There was a corner of a building, a house really, that was up on a pole. It had a still-alive woman from olden days, still young and not affected by time. And more illusions. Too weird to retain in the brain. Waker-uppers. I got up and laid on the back porch for a pretty long time, since
sleeping wasn’t comfortable. 

But it was a good weekend! I feel pretty good this morning, despite lack of sleep. We’ll see now the day goes.

Overslept

Overslept this morning. Photos still on the camera. Looked for meteors last night and saw zero.
My wife takes pictures with both her camera and phone,  and uploads photos instantly.  Im taking pics with my camera.

Rough Night

Last night I went to bed at 10 and woke up at 2. I got up and drank some water, but after that, although I slept, I was aware and felt like I was awake. I had weird dreams.

One dream, I was in this fishing store, and I HAD to buy something, but there was nothing I wanted. The closest thing to something I’d buy was a welcome mat with the name of the fishing store on it, and I didn’t want to buy that. I’m aware there’s a lot I can’t remember to this dream.

Another dream was that someone was forging a contract or document, (I think they were stealing my house). In this dream, a girl was taking the contract or deed, hold it against the wall, and pour water behind the document so that it flows down the wall, and then  you could  change the document.

Even when I’m dreaming these dreams, I know they are crazy, and I feel nauseous while I’m dreaming. Part of me is saying, “stop thinking this shit”

Even now, I feel like my brain is not functioning correctly. For example, I did a Google image search for “rough night” and got bizarre results, then I think “Am I crazy? What is this?” All I wanted was a funny picture for my blog.

Try it, Google “rough night” and tell me what it is.

This type of brain malady can only bee cured with lots and lots of coffee. Working on it.

Thursday Thinkin’

It’s Thursday, Tomorrow is Friday. This week has been both slow and fast.

I don’t have anything to post today (seems like I never do anymore)

Went to bed at 9  last night, slept good. No dreams no nothing.  Alarm went off and I set the timer and slept another 30 minutes.  Now I’m running late this morning, but I’m not too worried about it.

Although the Operations Training this week is very interesting, and in some ways better than regular work, I do miss the beach lunch hours. Next week will be back to normal.

Melatonin. The Good Stuff

I take melatonin every night at home. I didn’t bring any with me this trip. I haven’t been sleeping well, and o haven’t been tired at bedtime.  Yesterday I got some. I slept good last night. Note to self: always take melatonin with you when traveling.

Sleep Cycle Research

That title sounds like one of those spam blogs, doesn’t it?

Today, for a little while, while I’m supposed to be working, I’m going to do some research on the sleep cycle. Our mattress is so good I have a hard time getting up in the morning.

Seems like if I set my alarm 15 minutes later or earlier, I could get up easier.

See? already I was mistaken, I always thought REM sleep was the deepest stage of sleep.

Someone was telling me that there are Apps for your  phone that “listen” to  your breathing and wake you up at the best time in your sleep cycle.
