Queens Birthday, and Chicken Troubles

Today, I slept super late late, (6:45) and have a sore back to show for it.

Trooping the Colour It’s a holiday here today, Queens Birthday Holiday. Happy Birthday to the Queen. The picture above is from The Celebration this year.

I think a Queen would be a good idea for the US, keep the government the way it is, but add a Queen (or King) to straighten them when they get out of line. The US Government has gotten way way way out of line. On the other hand, maybe I don’t know what I’m talking about, because Elizabeth is a good Queen, and I don’t know what it would be like with a bad queen.

This weekend was a good weekend, we had some rain, and some sun. We went to a great party yesterday with lots of good food.

Four of our five chickens attacked the smallest yesterday and she was near death. We separated her from the others and have been giving her water with an eye dropper every hour and she is getting stronger, But we need to find a way to get her to eat. She has barely grown since we got her, while the others are quite a lot bigger. They are getting hard to catch when we let them loose in the yard, but the wild chickens are much bigger, and want to peck them. It’s turning into quite the task, raising these chickens.. We need a coop outside…

Have a good week, Sorry if you’re working today.

Thursday Ramble.

I ended up going for the Nexus 7 with the Sharkk keyboard. I figured there’s nothing yet to replace my laptop, but I can replace my Kindle and use my laptop less. I ordered them on Amazon and should get them next week.

yes, it’s the same picture again.

The first tropical storm has formed, Andrea. Here we go. Andrea came from the system that gave us that rain last week.

I guess I’ll be mowing the yard this weekend., but the grass is gone, all that’s left are the weeds. Starting over….

Have a good Thursday!

All Animals OUT!

This morning I got up, put the chickens out, (they kind of quit growing UP, and now you can daily see the feathers growing OUT), I bet soon they will begin visibly growing bigger again. (I’ll be glad to have them outside, they’re beginning to smell)

I walked the desperate dogs, who were begging desperately to go out. I took them out and they didn’t even want to step off the dry pavement, they didn’t have to pee or poop, I was conned. So I left them tied up outside. The cats had gotten into their food storage container, and had been having an all you can eat buffet all night. I fed them anyway, but they obviously weren’t hungry. So now the house is nice and quiet, I’m drinking my coffee, ready to go to work.

Dogs staring listlessly up the road at nothing.

The sky is blue right now, but I wonder if it’ll get rainy later…. Weather says yes. Scooter or car? Scooter or car?

Friday Flashback

I was stoked to post  my Flashback Friday this morning. But my computer screen went dead again for the first time since the other day.
That’s my flashback, my screen going dead the other day…. and today. Wow, far out! Trippy man!
Have a good weekend! Still raining here!

Iron Man 3 on an Early Early Friday Morning!

Today is sleepy Friday. Last night, (perhaps I should say this morning),  The Wife and I saw the opening night of Iron Man 3 at midnight.

iron man 3 posterIt was about 3 when we went to bed, I got up at 6, sleeping a half hour later than normal.

Although the movie was good, I thought it was the least good of all three Iron Man movies, so far.

And that’s all I’m going to say about that.

Yesterday I twisted my ankle and have my swollen foot shoved into my boots and laced up as tight as I can. Yow. I don’t think it’s too bad though.

Here it’s cloudy and there was some thunder and rain earlier. The forecast calls for rain today and tomorrow. I’m taking the car.

Yesterday I drove because of weather too and recorded an audio post, but it has too many mistakes to use, so I may re-record it today. One thing, if you’ve ever heard your voice on a recording, you don’t sound like you think you sound. I sound insolent, arrogant and angry. I certainly don’t sound how I feel…

Have a good day and have a good weekend!

Damp Weather Damper

I should be in a much better mood. I should be looking forward to the weekend that starts in just 9 hours. (Holiday Friday and holiday Monday.) But I’m not. This damp weather is putting a damper on my good mood and my weekend outlook.20130328_064127My view from right here right now.

Also they’re going to start building next door. Over two years ago, I agreed to let them build 10 feet from the property line. Now they’ve changed their plans and I’ve changed my mind. I just want to save the trees that give us privacy on our back porch. Today I have to call the Planning Department and see what can be done, if anything.

Wild wet windy weedy weekend

Wello. Another Monday is upon us. Here was a not-too-bad weekend. Saturday The Wife and I went shopping, and got some Bougainvillaea bushes and a new pan for cooking.

It’s a “Stir Fry” don’t call it a wok

I can’t remember what else we got. We stopped by the cigar store and I smoked one there. I meant to get a box to go, but somehow it slipped my mind. I looked at a box, good price, but only 12 cigars in a box. I like boxes with 25. We also looked at a new washer and dryer. (Uh on, the Wifes Brain wheels are spinnin’ like crazy, I can tell)… She got the whole thing planned out.

Then we came home, and I watched a little football. (I don’t give a rats ass after the Redskins coach murdered his team) The results and my hopes for next week are below.

NFL Odds Divisional Playoff Games - NFL Football Odds NFL Odds AFC NFC

I guess I gotta go for Baltimore. I hate all the other teams. I had a hard time picking San Francisco over Atlanta because I dislike them both immensely. SanFran because I thought Joe Montana was a weenie. Atlanta, because I’ve always disliked them. But I picked San Fran because of number 7 on their team. Don’t know his name. He was running and making some good plays. The winner of these two games plays the Super Bowl. Whoopie.

Sometime I have to tell you my NFL team philosophy, It’s quite insane.

Sunday I planted the bougainvillaeas in our solid bedrock yard. I tried using my one inch masonry drill to loosen up the ground and got it stuck solid in the ground. Then I had to use a pickaxe to get it free. Damn bougainvillaeas better grow.

And it rained Sunday, and we had a big power failure and I put houseplants outside and it immediately quit raining before they could get wet. AGAIN, like always.

That’s it for today, this dang post is too dang long!

Thursday Ramble

Above are some pictures from last weekend.

I hate ironing. I can’t believe people still iron clothes in these modern times. In the Navy, we ironed all the time and I can’t remember it being such a pain in the ass.

We have a weather system moving in. I can hear waves from the back porch and it is cloudy cloudy and windy windy. Yesterday it was cloudy so I took the car instead of the bike. I left 5 minutes late and got to work a half an hour later than usual. And then it didn’t rain all day. I was stuck in traffic like a mere mortal. Today I’m driving again. It better rain!

I like this new blog, Now my problem is linking my reader with this blog instead of my old one. Also I can’t make the Twitter widget show up, but I’m not too worried about that at this time.

I gotta go! Have a good day!

Tuesday Tribulations

Tuesday, Of course no one showed up to repair our internet. LIME, our internet provider, accomplishes nothing unless someone is stepping on their neck, forcing them to do what they are paid to do.

I listened to the radio for 45 minutes this morning, trying to hear the weather prediction. What crap. I’m spoiled rotten I guess, I expect to have news and weather and anything else I want at my fingertips whenever I want it.

I don’t even know who won the football game last night…

Above are some random photos for your viewing pleasure. Like I say, pics make the post!

Hurriane Sandy

Now that Sandy is gone, we’re getting more wind than when she was close. She was supposed to die off after crossing Jamaica, and curve right, out to sea, but now she’s staying a hurricane and curving left to hit the US east coast.

Read the article here:

With a rare mix of three big merging weather systems over a densely populated region, experts predict at least $1 billion in damage.

The stage is set as Hurricane Sandy continues to barrel north. A wintry storm is chugging across the country from the west. And frigid air is streaming south from Canada.

And if they meet Tuesday morning around New York or New Jersey, as forecasters predict, they could create a big, wet mess that settles over the nation’s most heavily populated corridor and reaches as far west as Ohio.

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration forecaster Jim Cisco, who coined the nickname Frankenstorm, said: “We don’t have many modern precedents for what the models are suggesting.”

And the storm will take its time leaving. The weather may not start clearing in the mid-Atlantic until the day after Halloween and Nov. 2 in the upper Northeast, Cisco said.

“It’s almost a weeklong, five-day, six-day event,” he said, “It’s going to be a widespread, serious storm.”

It is hitting during a full moon, when tides are near their highest, increasing the risk of coastal flooding. And because many trees still have their leaves, they are more likely to topple in the event of wind and snow, meaning there could be widespread power outages.

I remember the book, “The Perfect Storm” The book was better than the movie, (as usual) but in the movie weather maps, I could understand how the storm was forming up better than just in the book, with no pictures. This reminds me of “The Perfect Storm”
