feels Like Friday

It feels like Friday, but it’s not. I’ve been busy this week and every day I come home brain tired. Wake up brain dead-get home brain tired! That’s me!

I like to wake up early, get dressed and ready to go and have time to read some blog posts, drink some coffee, and act like I got up for more than going to work. This morning it took much more than the alloted time to find socks. I found a dozen pairs of blue socks, but I needed white or gray socks. I finally found one in the dryer and one on top of the dresser, but where are all my socks? If I needed blue I’d only find tons of gray and/or white socks. These are the problems I have to deal with throughout my day.
I’m going to try to finish up at the new radio station today, and just neaten up tomorrow. I’ve almost completed the studio, and the transmitter can’t go in yet because of some electrical permits or something. So I’ll be going back later for that. Also I need to put in the production studio which should take only a day or so.

No blog post is complete without a photo, so here is a random photo for today.

Work

I have been busy this week (yesterday) putting in a new radio station. If only every week could be like this, work-wise.
This morning, I woke up a little early, and went up on the roof. I was looking in the right place at the right time, and saw the sun peek over the horizon. I think it’s the first time I ever saw the sun actually come up from the roof. Usually I blink and miss it, or get there too late or too early.
Yesterday, I said good by to Mir. Here’s the last photo. He seemed perfectly OK, eating, feeling good. He seemed greatly greatly improved. He wouldn’t hold still enough for a picture.

Goodbye to Mir

The vet told me that the cat probably cannot ever be an outdoor cat because of his head trauma. They have a program that finds homes for dogs and cats and the vet said Mir would be a good candidate if we OK it. She (the Vet) guarantees the Mir would never be put to sleep.

I discussed it with the wife. We cannot have an indoor cat because of our killer dogs, so today I will go say goodbye to Mir, and give him to the vet.

Everyone at the vets office loves Mir. He purrs as soon as you touch him. He’s a beautiful cat. He has black stripes on his head and golden brown stripes on his cheeks.

I love Mir too, and am very sad I can’t keep him and take care of him forever.

Short Monday Post

I woke up at 2 again last night, after dreams about being stuck in a maze again. I almost got up, because I felt so wide awake, but I stayed in bed, and the next thing I knew it was 6 AM.

Today should be a busy day and this week should be busy too. I’ll tell you more about it tomorrow.

Today we have to get Mir the cat back, suddenly, we ARE concerned with the size of the bill from the vet.

More on the cat

I went to visit the cat yesterday. What a cutie. I probably spent an hour there. The cat seemed to like me! Hopefully he’ll be coming home today or tomorrow. Since his name obviously isn’t Leroy, I’m looking for another name. He has very intricate stripes and two spots on the top/back of his head, like a cobras hood. I’m thinking about re-naming him Mir, as in miracle. Mir is also a Russian word that means “Peace” and “Earth”.

When I told the tale to The Wife, she said “Uh-Oh!”. She knows I’m hooked!

Of course, he may be someones cat, and when I bring him here he just may run home and we’ll never see him again.

I woke up at 2:30 this morning, feeling like the only person on earth I’m too old for this shit. I’m the same as I was 25 years ago, looking for a job ‘fixing things’, I haven’t grown or moved up a bit. I still don’t know what I want to do or what I want to “be when I grow up”, I’m just doing this because it’s what I’ve always done, and it’s what I think my father wanted. I wish that cat was here, now it the time to hold a purring cat in your lap.

Post Entitled: “It’s Not Leroy” or, “Another Pool of Blood”

Five minutes after my Wife left for work yesterday, she called me, distraught. A cat ran under her car and got hit. I rushed to the scene, a block away, and there was the cat in the road, in a pool of blood, exactly like the guy I found a couple of months ago. The cat was breathing, fast and shallow, but didn’t look squished anywhere. I had a towel, and put the cat on it, and took him to the vet. My wife said it was our cat Leroy, and I thought it was too, till yesterday evening, when I fed the cats and all 6 were there, including Leroy. So, it’s not Leroy. The injured cat’s not out of the woods yet, he (or she) took a serious hit to the head, bleeding from the nose and a big blood teardrop when I picked him up. But in my gut I think the cat will be OK. I’m glad I took the cat to the vet, and I’m glad it wasn’t Leroy. I’ll pay and let the cat go. I’m glad the cat didn’t lay in the road unconscious till the next car came and squished him.

Another Morning

This morning we all got up early and took my Wifes Mom to the airport. Her two week trip was over way too soon. We are very sad because she is gone.

This mornings sunrise was nice and clear, light blue with no red, and today seems like it will be a sunny day. I had a whole list of things to do today and now I can’t remember any of them, except pick up some plumbing parts for our kitchen sink, on which the main drain pipe broke and flooded our kitchen last night.

Below are some pics I took yesterday, the top two is our cat Goldie, relaxing after dinner in the afternoon, and the bottom two are flowers I took in the rain yesterday morning. I like the raindrops you can see on the flower pics, especially if you click to enlarge them.

I kind of have the blues today, sad my MIL left and I guess that’s why.
