Queens Birthday, and Chicken Troubles

Today, I slept super late late, (6:45) and have a sore back to show for it.

Trooping the Colour It’s a holiday here today, Queens Birthday Holiday. Happy Birthday to the Queen. The picture above is from The Celebration this year.

I think a Queen would be a good idea for the US, keep the government the way it is, but add a Queen (or King) to straighten them when they get out of line. The US Government has gotten way way way out of line. On the other hand, maybe I don’t know what I’m talking about, because Elizabeth is a good Queen, and I don’t know what it would be like with a bad queen.

This weekend was a good weekend, we had some rain, and some sun. We went to a great party yesterday with lots of good food.

Four of our five chickens attacked the smallest yesterday and she was near death. We separated her from the others and have been giving her water with an eye dropper every hour and she is getting stronger, But we need to find a way to get her to eat. She has barely grown since we got her, while the others are quite a lot bigger. They are getting hard to catch when we let them loose in the yard, but the wild chickens are much bigger, and want to peck them.It’s turning into quite the task, raising these chickens.. We need a coop outside…

New Phone Woes or, New Woes, About The Phone

Suddenly, yesterday and today, my new phone is only showing half way charged after charging all night. I can’t handle any phone problems right now.

Yesterday was Bruce Day, On June 13, 1991 I saw my brother alive for the last time. He came down to visit me when I lived in Virginia and we went to VA Beach. We had some hamburgers on the boardwalk. Later in the early afternoon, he went back up to Maryland, then on to Connecticut, where he lived. Less than a month later, he and his girlfriend, Karen Vinnik, would be tragically murdered in Tuscon Arizona.
I think my memory is failing, because I can’t remember him arriving in Virginia, I can’t remember if he stayed at my apartment. I wrote soon after his funeral that I never wanted this memory to fade, that last day together, the funeral, and all the feelings. I never wanted them to fade, I wanted time to stop, and hope that it would go backwards. Now there’s bits of memory missing…

I didn’t forget that it was yesterday, but yesterday I planned on posting it today as a Flashback Friday, but today, Flashback Friday seems too cheap for my Brothers memory.

Bread and Water?

Bread-and-WaterIs it possible to become allergic to bread and water? Lately when I drink water on an empty stomach, (I drink a lot of water) I get an instant stomach ache. And lately when I eat bread (I think it’s bread causing it.) it feels like my stomach swells and it would pop if you poked it with a pin.

Bread I could give up, water… not so easy.

I guess it’s just a phase that will pass.

Time To Lighten Up

Worldwide Toilet Paper Boycott Training Video

Now that the worldwide toilet paper boycott is in full swing, I have prepared a training video to help you through these hard times. “How to wipe your butt using only one square of toilet paper”.

As you can imagine, I fear I may receive threats from the TP manufacturers over this, therefore this will be my last communication on this subject.

We Must Unite, And Boycott Toilet Paper!

The US Governments exposure for illegally collecting information is a decoy ploy so citizens worldwide don’t notice another heinous dastardly deed taking place.

A couple years ago, maybe three or four, I noticed a new advert on the rolls of toilet paper. “Big Roll” or “Mega Roll”. Here you see “Ultra Roll”.

All my life, a roll of toilet paper has been big enough to fit between the roller on the toilet paper holder, so when I saw these declarations, I thought they had found a way to fit more sheets per roll, or were cutting the little squares a little smaller, because the rolls were the same size as always. And I though it was odd that there was no “normal size” roll.

The other day, for the first time since the Ultra, Mega and Giant labels appeared, The Wife came home with “Normal” size roll. It’s half a frikkin roll of toilet paper!

Now, it becomes clear that the Ultra Mega Giant was a ploy to make us think that since the beginning of toilet paper history, we’ve been getting a roll and a half on each roll and now, the toilet paper companies are setting things straight. That’s what the TP companies would like us to believe.

It’s a ripoff, and we must fight back by boycotting Toilet Paper! I know that isn’t possible, but at least boycott the companies that are involved in this horrendous vile scheme.

Seriously, think about it. Toilet paper companies can charge whatever they want, because TP is a necessary product that you can’t live without. And seriously, one company at least has halved the size of the product, doubling the cost without a price increase. And if one company gets away with it, soon all the other companies will follow suit.

I predict that this will be a case where the people will be sheep and pay whatever the cost, complaining all the time. I can’t do anything by myself, but I will never again by the product pictured above, who I think is starting this ripoff.

Flashback Friday: Proof Of The Existence of God

grapesIt was November 2000, I went to the grocery store and got some grapes, There were seeded grapes and seedless grapes next to each other. I wanted seedless but got the ones with seeds somehow. They were terrible grapes with tons of seeds, but they tasted good..

Soooo. the next morning I got my divorce papers and the whole mess was over. (We were married about a year and together about 6 months, and getting married the first time was the biggest mistake of my life, the only thing in my life that I would un-do) And the process, while difficult, was not as bad as it could have been. I was happy and grateful. After I went to the lawyers and got the papers, then went to the beach. I took some grapes.

I was sitting on the beach, saying “Thank you God for the divorce and thank you for bringing me through it”. Then I ate a grape, forgetting they had seeds, “Crunch cruch, awww crap!” Then I said “God, now, if you’d take the seeds out of these grapes, then my day would be complete! Ha ha! Not really God, just kidding, I know you don’t do stuff like that, just thanks for the divorce”.

Not another grape in that bunch had seeds. I know why.

Thursday Ramble.

I ended up going for the Nexus 7 with the Sharkk keyboard. I figured there’s nothing yet to replace my laptop, but I can replace my Kindle and use my laptop less. I ordered them on Amazon and should get them next week.

The first tropical storm has formed, Andrea. Here we go. Andrea came from the system that gave us that rain last week.

I guess I’ll be mowing the yard this weekend., but the grass is gone, all that’s left are the weeds. Starting over….

That Didn’t Work Too Well…

Posting in the evenings didn’t work too well for me yesterday, we started watching a ‘Arry Podder’ movie and I never made it to the computer at all.

Speaking of new computers, I’ve been saying I needed one. I’ve been thinking I could replace my laptop with a tablet. Above is a Nexus 7 and a bluetooth keyboard built for it. For under $325, it would do everything I need a computer for, except for when I want to take pictures off my camera. There’s no card reader. Plus, at 7 inches, this thing is tiny. I could type on it, I’m sure better than the durn virtual keyboard that covers half the screen. There’s lots of videos about it here on YouTube.

Alternatively, I’m thinking about an ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity. At more than double the cost.

But it has a SD Card Reader, bigger display and keyboard, quad processor and is more like a laptop. What I don’t like about the Transformer Pad is the touchpad on the keyboard. Why do I need a touchpad if I have a touch screen? I always disable the touchpad on my laptops because I’ll be typing, accidentally touch the touchpad and move the cursor, then I’m suddenly typing somewhere else and I have a mess to fix. I never liked touchpads.

Neither has a hard drive, they have Solid State Drives of 16, 32 0r 64 Gigabytes, so all my files would be stored on Dropbox and Skydrive.

So that’s where I’m at today. What do you think? Do you have one of these tablets?
